PRO: Having access to the pool straight from the balcony was nice. CON: There was a funky smell to the room that would not go away, even after buying a can of air freshener. mini-con: If you get one of the top level rooms, prepare for a lot of walking and stairs to get there. The elevators only get you part way there.
Nice hotel, good service”
Good - Facility : pool, jacuzzi, amenity - Breakfast : good - Nice view from the room (far sea view) - One free cocktail at the bar (Only 1 glass for 3 people) - Value for money - Walking distance to the beach Bad - Location a bit up hill - Parking place - limited - Some staff not informative (only the ones at the bar and the restaurant cannot give detail about food and drink)
Overall satisfied ”
The hotel is worth of the price. Location is quite convenient except for the steep hill, but it was acceptable. Staff are quite friendly and polite, happy to help as much as possible. Facilities inside were sufficient and satisfactory for daily use.
I was staying 4 nights in a room which had a Jacuzzi on the balcony. The only thing that it couldn't be filled up as something was wrong with the plug. Maintenance attended very quickly but the issue still hasn't been solved after. Had to call for the second time. The room itself is spacious the bed is comfy. The other down side is that the aircon is noise and it doesn't have a remote controller. Otherwise the staff is excellent very helpful and the breakfast is exceptionally good.
A hotel you will book again!”
Outstanding welcome as we checked in for the second time! Wonderful service in particular from Paul at the reception! Overall good service, fine breakfast and service from the young waitresses. Fine rooms with view. Best to book in block 1, in particular if you are elderly or handicapped..
We booked the pool access room. Room is clean & nice with spacious bathroom (nice bath tub). My son loves the pool access! Housekeeping is helpful. We were not introduced/offered their buffet breakfast. We did not patronize their rooftop lounge too. High floor room is quite a walking distance from the lobby- be ready to take 2 lifts and walk down. The hotel is uphill, which means you have to walk up the hill every time you want to return to the hotel :) Terrible experience with the taxi driver booked.
Take your walking legs with you”
It's in the title. It should be Mountainside Hotel. Be warned the buggy that the hotel uses to take you to the top rooms, still leaves a nasty 50m uphill slog and on the basis the hotel entrance is up a hill, after a week, it's enough. I originally booked 2 rooms, 6 months in advance with specific instructions for them to be adjacent. It took 2 days. Time to find somewhere different I think. Finally the restaurant was closed for half of the break. The replacement was satisfactory, but involved another hike.
Nice position for Kata Beach”
Perfect position for Kata beach without the noise, that is road noise, So we were glad we booked this just off the road, and about a 1 minute stroll down to the main road and restaurants and bars etc. Good breakfast and nice room, good internet. We are on a tour and this was the first hotel for a week, and we were not sure of the quality in Phuket, by the time we got to our next at Karon Beach, we discover this was a gem.. Nice pools also. So we would go back def..
Very convenient location, just 5 min walk to the beach. Amazing view from the room! ”
It was my second stay in this hotel. Overall great experience again. You don't need to rent a motorbike to reach the beach and good restaurants. Everything in a walking distance. My room has a spectacular sea view! Staff is very helpful! Will stay here again.
Overall is very good ”
The women reception is being rude when I'm asking how may I know if the mini bus is ours . Overall the room is very good as in the picture. The room got one smell I don't know what smell is that but it is ok for me.
overall good, staff friendly and helpful...”
Nice view from the room that we stay. Love the swimming pool just in front of the balcony. Nice rooftop to view sunset & we get free nice drinks too!! A bit tiring when need to get down to the lobby, need walk a while and change evaluators to get down.
gave me a room without hot water. next day gave me another room with hot water. ”
Apart from having the no hot water initially, the manager changed rooms for me and gave me a Massage coupon for the spa they own down town and a 70% discount for food at a restaurant they own down down. Also shuttle back and forth at a phone call. very nice pool. big tick manageress
We keep comg back”
We have come back here for the fourth time and we usually stay for 1-2 weeks. So we obviously like this hotel. The rooms are very large, with nice bathrooms and balconies. The lobby is stylish and the breakfast room airy and interesting. It is a short walk to the beach, although it requires a brief uphill stint on return. The view of Kata Bay and the island more than compensates. There are many restaurants and coffee places nearby. The staff are to be commended. The Front Desk has people who speak excellent English and the General Manager (Michael) is improving this hotel through training of young agreeable and courteous staff, and by offering incentives to repeat guests. As examples, we were taken for an excellent dinner at Palm Square, and a courtesy car was provided for our trip back to the airport. We will be back!
Nice stay and location, but worst, not friendly, black face Receptionist ever!”
First impression of the hotel is WOW.. Nice looking and enjoy the pool view and environment. However, the worst part was the Receptionist being not friendly, not even bother to look at you or welcome you when you look / talk with them! There's a local girl and a white girl . Both of them don't look friendly at all as you won't see their smile at all! Otherwise, room and facilities was great. However, I won't back to this hotel again as I do think a guest deserve an unfriendly staff for a enjoy and relax trip.
nice hotel and staff”
Philippine staff were very nice and efficient (waiting for checkout was a bit long but ..) Hotel is in a good location and can walk to the beach in a few minutes. i got a free upgrade as the room i booked was full so i had a jacuzzi on the balcony and seaview...kind of overlooked in the jacuzzi tho!! gym was out of order but at around 2000b it was a good deal for low season. pools are nice too...breakfast was a decent selection for the price too...also a free beer in the fridge and free cocktail on the rooftop bar... a low season bargain for sure and would stay again
Great Hotel and location”
Great hotel and breakfast service, great location for quick access to Kata centre and everything is walking distance. The pools are fantastic and the 7th floor bar view is outstanding. The staff where OK, its just that they are so disengaged, bored or there is low moral. They attend work but don't have that caring attitude you associate with Thai hospitality. Shame as I would go back otherwise.
Really Enjoyed our Stay”
We stayed here for 3 nights and really enjoyed it. The facility is very big, with several nice pools along the hillside so you can see out into Kata area, and even the beach if on a high enough floor. The breakfast buffet is good, and the staff are nice. The 7th Heaven bar is a great place to watch the sunset and relax in the evening. All in all a good place to stay, with very comfortable beds and decent wifi too.
Location of the hotel was great, loved the hilltop scenery. There's a steep slope leading to the hotel lobby, which is quite tiring for younger children and elderly. Lots of great F&B within walking distance, though renting a bike is an added advantage.
It's worth it”
I am delighted to have stayed in this hotel and will definitely come back with my daughter. July, their part-time guest relations officer was very accommodating. We've met the assistant sales manager as well and she was friendly as well. We really enjoyed our time in the hotel and in the area.
Repeat stay! ”
my second time staying at this hotel. Really great place and i'll stay here again when i go back. couple mins walk to the beach and restaurants. TV signal in the room needs to be fixed and maybe have more channels and some minor up-keeping in their bathrooms. other than that it was perfect!
