Cheap, clean and great location”
Had a really nice stay, the room was basic but for the price it was great, clean. The bed was a bit uncomfortable but it was ok for one night. The facilities were good, big kitchen nice comfortable common area. It was a couple of minutes walk from the deer park/shrines/Main Street. Would highly recommend to anyone
Very close to Naramachi and Nara Park. There is a shopping street nearby too. There is a train station just at the end of the shopping street. The staff speaks good English. There is kitchenette. Very spacious common room, kitchen, bathroom and room!
Big Room For Japan”
The room was big compared to other budget rooms in Japan. However, the walls were paper thin and you could hear everything in the adjoining rooms. Also, check in was late at 4 pm, but you can leave your luggage there beforehand when arriving early. Location was great for Nara...
Good location, good price, good host”
Excellent location with reasonable price. 7-to-10-minute walk to 近鉄奈良駅 and just next to the shopping stree, with many restaurants and gift shops. Go to 興福寺 just need 5 minute and you can get into Nara Park through this way. The host is a young man with good English. He is wellcome for luggage storage if you come early or leave Nara late. And also the common area on 1/F is opened for all use. The house has 2 floors, both with shared toliet but bathroom is only on 1/F. The only bad thing is that warm water is just got in the kitchen and bathrooms(I think hot enough for bath). Though these are shared facilities, all are clear and the others seem polite and considerate so no trouble with using those. The rooms are not so noise-proof so you may hear some sounds of chating from other rooms. Yet the neighbours talk quietly and the environment around is so peaceful. We lived in a family room, with 2 double-deck beds. So enough space for 4 people to sleep, place the luggage, and sit.
Great place, near to Kintetsu station and Nara Park”
We stayed at here for 2 nights, but this place was really nice and traditional Japanese style of house. This place was really convenient, a lot of streets with restaurants and shopping were nearby, and Nara Park was close to this guesthouse too. From Kintetsu Nara station, it is around 10 min walk to reach the guesthouse. Other than that, the staffs at here were nice, kind and friendly too. We spent a night to talk and share some opinions with each other. Overall it was really a nice and awesome guesthouse. We hope to come back to here again. thank you very much :)
good location, well-equiped room with all kinds of facilities of daily use. rooms of authentic japanese style really impress me
Great location, excellent staff, awesome experience. Highly recommended. ”
The staff were amazing, easy to talk to, helpful and funny. I enjoyed my stay, and I can’t emphasize enough how convenient the location is. Kudos.
10min.to Nara Kintetsu station not JR ”
we book japanese twin room but was given a room with 2 double decker beds and a separated sofa area with wardrobes. we place futon on the floor to aleep ourselves.. it's was not laid for us tho they know we are just a couple obviously. shared bathroom n toilet ams big basins area jiat outaide our room. walls are thin so do not work loudly especially at night...we could hear 2 Japanese girls talking at night. right in front of Ryokan is a makeshift mobile oven van operator who sells western food pizza good coffee...many restaurant open after 11am the only few available are Macdonald or Family cafe with free flow beverages which we patronize everyday feom kyoto to Nara..Ryokan is far from JR station about 20min to walk... BUT 10min walk to Nara kintetsu station and many food and shops. Mochi is very soft along the main shopping street.. nice to sit at the pond during sunset admiring the autumn red leaves.check in is after 3pm so just drop off luggage and walk up to Nara park. there is onsen in this area by bus. the best experience ever. Will prefer to book nearer to JR station in future.not easy to walk 20min.if u have 2 v heavy luggages.
If you want to stay in a traditional-looking room, then you will enjoy it here. We stayed in a bunk-bed but it was still good and is value for money. It is also not very far from the train station and not far from tourist spots/attractions especially if you will rent a bike. Taking taxi wouldn't cost you much as well. Two thumbs up to this hotel. Keep it up.
It was a very authentic japanese house. The staff was really really nice - we didn't manage to get a place to sleep for the night (2nd night in Nara, Route 53 was fully booked) and asked if we could sleep on the floor of the living room. They are working on another hostel in the neighbourhood, and we could sleep there! It wasn't finished yet, but they took care of everything in the room and we had a real nice staying! Guest House Route 53 is a good place to stay; the location is in the center of a lot of attractions ( 5 story pagoda - 5 minutes or less walk), everything is clean, blankets are comfortable, kitchen is big!! Thank you very much
Great location, cheap place”
The guesthouse is located near the streets with shops and the train station. Very convenient. It is a traditional Japanese house, so the walls are wooden and the doors are paper doors. At times, you may hear people talk at night. This place is pretty cheap. And there is a kitchen for you to cook. The shower is not as new as other hostels or guesthouses, but it is manageable. I am gemerally satisfied, but not impressed.
Good value ”
Check in is late - 5 and check out is early - 10. We were 3 people, got a private room for four, was really nice. Bed has no mattress but a futon. The water in the bathroom was not very hot. But overall great location, very clean and good value for money.
Enjoyed a pleasant stay. ”
Route 53 sports the worn and weary appearance common to youth hostels around the world. To its credit the place is clean and well maintained and I enjoyed a pleasant stay. Occasionally it can get noisy though! Asking guests to keep the sound down after ten, and some carpeting to muffle the footsteps overhead would help. While replacing the noisy hair-dryers would be a great start!!
This hostel is situated at Naramachi, and Nara Park is within walking distance. However, if you are driving, make sure you don't drive to the hostel. Naramachi streets are very narrow.
Location is abt 15mins walk from nara station. Property is very good and builded in japanese style. The design inside all is tatami. There's free breakfast in the morning. Its closed to nara park.
Nearly every thing,Big room,Nice Staff
A good place to stay! ”
Clean, airy, warmy, friendly, spacious, comfortable. A good place to stay!
Clean, location near nara park”
Recommend this guesthouse for short trip to nara. Only get noisy problem on the bunk bed.
Best Hostel In Nara”
OK only when I am a solo traveller, price is a bit high for a dorm bed.
