'm going to start off by saying this place is AWESOME and you should book it. That's all I really need to say. To dive in further though... Upon arrival we were greeted by the owner of the hotel who seemed to stay up for our late rainy arrival. He was awesome and took us to room 4 situated in the back of the lot. Once inside, the room was extremely spacious and quite impressively modern looking. The owner showed us around the room and turned our TV and AC on both of which seemed to work exceptionally. The beds were extremely comfy, although I must say the pillow cases can feel a little "weird" for the first little bit, but nothing too bothersome. The WIFI worked great during our stay. The guesthouse is located centrally in the town and only a couple hundred meters from the nearest 7/11 and Trucks (30 Baht) to Old Sukhothai. The grounds are undergoing some construction, which didn't bother me at all to see they are making improvements to their already pretty courtyard. There was only one small mishap with the room, which the owner quickly took care of and more then compensated for in the end. Overall, the hotel was amazing for the price, and I highly suggest you stay here if you happen to make a stop in Sukhothai.

Cannot say enough good about this hotel and the staff. We got in from a long stressful day and they were so wonderful and accommodating! They inquired as to our plans the next day and when we said we were taking the bus they called and got the bus schedule and booked our bus tickets for us. The rooms was beautiful and clean! The next day they helped us figure out how to get to the old city (about a 10 min ride). After we returned we had some delicious coffee in the super cute cafe in the bottom of the hotel and they gave us free cookies. Then when one of our travellers complained of diarrhea, Jib ( who had helped us the day before) ran out on her own time to the pharmacy to get medications to help before we had to catch the bus. Jibs husband then drove us to the bus terminal free of charge and got our prebooked tickets for us. They relieved so much stress for us and went out of their way and above and beyond in every way!!! Absolutely wonderful service!

I stayed in the Ban Thai Guesthouse for one night in order to see the historical site of old Sukhothai. As a solo backpacker traveling on a budget, this was a nice place to stay for the money. I stayed in a single room with fan, and shared the bathroom. When I first arrived the room felt hot, but at night it cooled down to a comfortable level with the fan. The bedding was clean, and they also provided a towel for you. There were three bathrooms and I never had a problem sharing with others. There was always a stall available when I wanted. The showers were hot and clean. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the location was ideal for catching a tuk tuk or pickup truck to the old city. The pickup points were only a short walk down the road. It isn't a 5 star hotel, but all in all for what it is, I liked it.

So you're coming to visit Sukhothai. Let me guess, you plan on seeing the ruins of the ancient capital – and they are beautiful. So why stay in a chain hotel of cookie-cutter design or crummy guesthouse when you can rest at this amazing thai style location and enjoy the good life? I stayed here for several nights and fell in love with the place. It's convenient to the main thoroughfare, an easy tuk tuk from the historic park, or you can hire one of the hotel cars for the day and have a personal driver. This hotel seems to mostly cater to holiday travelers from France, Germany and Holland, perhaps the traditional style is the draw, but visitors from any country should consider making this their stop for Sukhothai. It's family run which means they're quite dedicated to service and all employees there from the cleaners to the cook seem happy and interested in making my stay pleasant. The included breakfast is quite good, an excellent selection of fresh fruits. I also broke one of my travel rules and opted to eat at their hotel restaurant, usually an overpriced mediocre idea, the food at Ruean Thai Hotel is delightful. Enquire about their ancient recipe pork dish, a house speciality, and something unlikely to find in any other restaurant, it's delicious. Very reasonable prices, a great pool area to relax in. And their pet bunny rabbits hopping around the grounds, frogs abound at night, no insects in your rooms. The style of the hotel is traditional, but the construction is not. The owner used reclaimed wood materials, doors, windows, ancient teakwood timbers to construct a unique and lovely space. Highly recommended at twice the price. I felt like royalty and family all at once.

We made a chance decision to stay here as the hotel only had to reviews on Agoda - and we are so glad we did. We can't fault anything about this place, it's very new so everything is clean and fresh and the attention to detail is second to none. As part of my job I stay in many superior hotels across the world and I can honestly say that the staff and the room could easily reach these standards. The staff were always helpful, smiling and made us feel like both honoured guests and family friends at the same time. It was close to all public transport and perfect to get to old suckothai , the bus stopped almost outside the door. The pool was clean and fresh and all though the hotel is in the centre of the town it was peaceful and felt like you were in the countryside. We would highly recommend this place as we only stayed for 3 days but could easily have stayed for 3 weeks!

I booked the hardwood room on the 2nd level initially. It has a home feel and old charm that characterised many Thai homes. Unfortunately my friends did not like being aurrounded by hardwood so we moved to the bungalow room - more modern. It is equally good & comfy. The owner is very friendly and he tried his best to provide what we wanted without hesitation. Thumbs up for his service. Breakfast is good too!

Excellent. From the moment you entered you felt welcomed, considered, etc etc. The guidance during check in was thorough and exactly what was needed. The cleanliness of the place was exemplary. The support staff were always smiling, friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good. Customer service was second to none. This may be a two star because of facilities but is five star in every other aspect. The only down sides were no western tv, and shower power and heat good but not great. That said these were minor issues. This is the best value for money place I have ever stayed in in Asia.

We arrived at EZ House late but were warmly welcomed. Our initial impression was 'dirty' based on the stairway; however, the room itself was clean. We minor issues in the room but none of them were show stoppers. First, there was no toilet paper in the bathroom so we had to use the 'tissue' off the desk. Second, there was a light out in the bathroom leaving the sink and mirror unlit. Third, was the fact there were only two outlets in the room, one if the fridge was plugged in. We unplugged the vent fan in the bathroom and left the light on overnight to power that outlet so we could charge both of our cell phones. The room wasn't huge but it still had room for the bed, a chair, and a built-in desk, wardrobe, and cabinets along one wall. The shower is a typical Asian shower head on the wall by the toilet. The water heater worked well and it had good pressure. The bed was comfortable and both of us slept very well. There is little noise from outside but anything that happens in the hall echos and can be heard in the room. The owners and workers did a great deal to offset our initial mediocre impression with their helpfulness the following morning. They gave us directions, told us about the minibuses to the old city, and advised we try the night 'bazaar' where we got dinner. Though we didn't exercise the option, I saw other customers taking advantage of the free bikes the owner provides his guests. We were also the recipients of one of their bags of Sukhothai biscuits when we checked out. The location of the hotel is great to see New Sukhothai , however, it is about 12 km to Old Sukhothai. Because they are on the main road it is easy to catch one of the wooden minibuses. That being said, if your goal is to see Sukhothai Historical Park I would recommend you find a hotel closer to avoid the wasted travel time. We were generally satisfied with the EZ House but would probably try to book something closer to the Old City if we were to visit again.

This is MOST DEFINITELY the best place to stay in Sukhothai! This is a really neat bed and breakfast with huge rooms and outstanding service. The building is beautiful (I believe an old mansion) with marble floors in the rooms, a big four poster bed and a large balcony off our room. We had only reserved one night but arrived a day early due to a change in travel plans. We arrived mid afternoon and were greeted at the gate of the driveway by the housekeeper. She was very sweet and even though we did not have a reservation, she welcomed us and got a room ready for us immediately. She also offered us a cold Singha when we arrived which was nice :) We were very impressed with the large size of the room, the cleanliness of the entire property and the pool. For approximately $33 USD per night you cannot get a better room and service! This was my favorite place to stay on our 3 week vacation. Breakfast was also amazing and cooked to order by the same housekeeper who lives at the property and literally does EVERTHING. We stayed two nights and we spoke with her the evening before we left to settle our bill because we would be leaving early the next morning. Breakfast is usually served from 7-10 a.m. She asked us what time we would be leaving and we told he probably around 6:30 a.m. She told us to meet her upstairs at 6 a.m. so she could cook us breakfast before we left! It was such a nice gesture! I cannot reiterate how at home this place made me feel and how sweet this housekeeper was. I would love to return Baan Georges!

This was the cheapest hotel we stayed at on our trip and with the Boutique hotel we stayed in while in Chiang Mai, the best we experienced on our trip. The owner of the place was perhaps the most honest individual we met in Thailand. I am not saying people in Thailand are not honest, but this guy put even my own family members to shame with how honest and helpful he was. His customer service skills and English were excellent and I really couldn’t fault a single interaction we had with him or the staff that he employs—his family which all shared the same dedication to their guests. If you are looking for a clean, comfortable, and conveniently located room stay here. Avoid the “luxury” hotels in Sukhothai as this value priced one beats them all. The room was very clean and the beds comfortable. The AC was ice cold even though we were there during April which is the hottest month of the year in Thailand. The room arrangement was a bit strange but it worked and I would have gladly paid 5x what I did for the same experience. On a side note, we rented a scooter form the guesthouse. It was very well maintained with new tires and tight brakes. The owner did not do the usual scooter scam that we encountered in Thailand where they give you the scooter on empty without enough to make it to a gas station and “charge” 2x the price of fuel without asking to fill it up from their own stash. We received the scooter with a full tank and the only request was that we return it with the same amount of gas. On top of that the guesthouse did not have a helmet big enough to comfortably fit my huge “farang” head. To remedy this, the owner said if I found a bigger helmet while we were traveling around he would reimburse me for it. Which he did. I found one at the local big box store for 199.99bhat and he handed my wife that amount in cash. Now next time I visit the hotel I know there will be at least one helmet my size! We had a lovely stay. The photos serve the bungalow well. There really isn’t a pool, but that’s fine. The room and bed were super clean and comfy. The family/hosts were friendly and helpful. Juice, a fruit plate, and water provided. They’re a short stroll to the outdoor market and food stalls, and also away from the noise and bustle of town center. Some reviewers mentioned dogs, which we heard in the alleyways, but we always use earplugs (which they also provide) and slept soundly. We’d def. stay again.

My fan room was big, nice and clean, with complimentary water and toilet paper - great for the price! The guesthouse is really just opposite the bus station, and there is a path next to it that will take you to New Sukhothai in 10-15 mins (walking). The staff are extremely polite, I was even a bit embarrassed, feeling I might have walked into a fancy hotel by mistake. The only not quite pleasant thing that happened was a power cut for a couple of hours, but they did their best to fix it quickly. Oh, just in case, the bicycles are not free for everyone, at least they were not included in the price of my room.

If you want hostel is a great modern and new hostel in the center of Sukhothai. You can reach the market, several western or Thai restaurants and the bus to the old town in a few minutes. The staff is very friendly and they treat you like a friend, showing you the best place to eat or drink. The hostel is very clean, it seems like the cleaner service is there all day. Especially the ground floor, but also the hostel in general seems really big and it's the opposite of crowded. If you want hostel is basically the best choice for your stay in Sukhothai. I did enjoy my 2 night stay to the fullest.

The hotel is situated directly behind the bus terminal(a tuk-tuk driver wanted 100 B, good that i got a GPS navigation on my phone, so i realized quickly that we have to make just a 100m to face the hotel reception). The location in my opinion is just perfect - you can't get late for your bus because of the traffic :) If you want to go to the center, you have to walk a little bit, but it's nothing scary, we walked the distance hotel-city center up to 5 times per day and it was ok. On the other side, because of the distance in the hotel is really quiet and you can just rest. The Bungalow itself was just a dream - well made solid building, specious enough with an air conditioning, fridge, TV etc. and a HUGE super-comfortable bed. Once was a little bit noisy from the construction works next to the Bungalow, but most of the time we were at 9:00a.m. already gone from the hotel. I would stay once again in it if I go in Sukhothai again.

The place is a little far from the center of the city but accessible by motorbike. The bungalows are very cute and quiet (small space but there's room for a couple and 2 young kids if needed). You can park your motorbike inside the property. The staff is very nice and helpful! the hotel is conveniently located not far from the center of town, but just away from the noise. good food is only 5 minutes away and a lot to choose from. the rooms are nice and clean and the main lobby, breakfast, social area very inviting to chat, have a drink, surf the internet. the wifi does not reach every room, but it works and is reliable. when you check in all information is provided immediately, how to best see the main attraction of town, the historical park. the staff also can give you good info on buses, trains, you don't have to do any running around. the staff is anyway great. all in all probably the best value for money stay in 4 months of travel, if you prefer small personal operations instead of bigger, more frilly hotels.

We had a fantastic time at the resort; it was definitly one of the best places in our 6 weeks long vacation in Thailand. We had the biggest bungalow, which was really fair in price, and it had plenty of room for our two small children even with an extra bed on the floor. The room was clean and comfortable, but maybe the bathroom was a bit under the standard - but absolutly a minor detail. The restaurant at the hotel was very good, both in quality and price, so we eat there both morning and evening; they were really tolerant in regard to our probably noisy children and they cooked the food specially for them without any problem. In general the staff was so nice and helpful, and they really seemed to enjoy working with turist/foreigners/at the hotel. Also, the resort has 2 minibusses and does free shufflebus to/from the busstation/trainstation and maybe it is possible to use/book during the stay as well; they drove us to the mall one day for free, which was really helpfull and good service! The resort also have free (!) bikes, but unfortunally no children-seats. But for others it is really a good way to get to town easily. There were over 30 bikes, so i think, it was possible to keep them for the entire stay. The one minus is the location, the resort is a bit far from town, maybe 20-30 minuts by foot, but you can walk along the riverside which is nice, and since the restaurant is good and fair in price, there is no need to go into town for basic things like meals/drinks/snacks. We would absolutly recommened this resort to anyone staying at Sukothai!!!!

Misled by the name of the resort and the super deal promotion advertisement, we booked a standard fan shared bathroom intending to find a place with beautiful garden and fresh air to sleep overnight. It was very embarrassing when we were talked upon arrival to upgrade the room (to discover later that there was no such “shared bath” room available here). The 2 standard air-conditioned rooms we got are quite old and worn out, even a bed cover which was provided as a blanket was already torn. We could hardly find a place to walk around and the rooms are too close to outside neighbors whose dogs are neither quiet nor friendly. The house itself is quite close to the market place where there are many restaurants, so we don’t mind not having any dining facility provided. The only employee we met is probably the house keeper who opened the rooms for us according to the instruction from the owner over the phone. She went home at night when the owner came to sleep in one room. The owner (or manager) was very friendly. He kept us very busy listening to him, and he gave us very good advices for our visits on the next day.

2 nights stay with children, with an extra bed in the room, the room is fine with good aircon, clean, and quiet at night. The bathroom sanitaries needed a fix and the walls a refreshment, but hot water in fonction ok. The stairs walls and floor are old-fashioned and stained, a redecoration would be necessary for a better image. The breakfast was great (coffee or tea with milk and orange juice and toasts, then a plate with eggs and ham and sausages). The location is fine, in the center of city and 10 min by taxi from the bus station.

It was a nice stay! The area of the guest house is quiet, very relaxing and convenient. Guests Can easily access to the riverside night market, massage centre, food centre, restaurants & bars. 5 mins tut-tut ride to bus terminal for transferring to other provinces. 1 min walk out from the guest house and you can catch a bus to Sukhothai Historical Park with only 30baht per person.

We really enjoyed out stay at J & J Guesthouse. It is centrally located in Sukhothai's new city and is within walking distance to the restaurants and shops etc. The staff are really friendly and welcoming and they do a good breakfast! We really enjoyed our stay in Sukhothai, we loved walking around the sites at the ancient city - it was one of the highlights of our trip!

we stayed here for just one night with our dog, as the resort is pet friendly. we wished we could have stayed longer as the place is lovely. a bit difficult to find as there is no english sign by the main road. the staff were very friendly, we arrived late at night and were still met with a very warm welcome. the room has a/c, t.v, fridge and complimentary bottled water. the bathroom was nice and clean with a good hot shower. we will definitely return to stay here again on our next visit to sukhothai.
