Grande Centre Point Hotel Terminal 21 (SHA Plus+)
Sukhumvit,Sukhumvit - View on map
"Simply love the location! We've been visiting Bangkok very frequently and always stayed in a 5 star hotel in Chitlom. Just found out about Grand Centre Point Sukhumvit through my friend in facebook. It's the best hotel for our needs! We can take the MRT train from Sukhumvit station directly to Chatuchak market. Exit at Kamphangpetch station to section 24 where all the latest fashion stalls are situated. In the past, we usually take the BTS train from Chitlom to Mochit station then brave through the crowds and sun to transfer to another train using the MRT line to Kamphangpetch station. Appreciate the welcome platter of fresh fruits upon arrival. Spent the first few days playing with the electronic toilet. Love the microwave where we can heat up the Best Hot Chocolate that we bought from the Gourmet Supermarket at Terminal 21 Shopping mall. It was indeed very rich & yummy! We had a wonderful time swimming and soaking in the jucuzzi. Enjoyed the widespread morning buffet breakfast too! My only gripe is the water heater. The temperature kept fluctuating from very hot to very cold. It's frustrating having to spent the entire time adjusting it. I hope they'll address this problem soon as we're spending more time in the shower and wasting precious water. An ironing board with iron will be a bonus too especially we've bought tons of clothes and would love to wear them immediately after some light rinse. All in, we adore this hotel and have already booked flights to Bangkok in December!"

PARK PLAZA BANGKOK SOI 18 (SHA Plus+)
Sukhumvit,Sukhumvit - View on map
"This hotel is probably the most under-rated hotel in Sukhumvit. Located down a small soi (16) about 300 metres from Sukhumvit road is a lovely little hotel where everything comes together. The rooms, the facilities and the staff make this one of the more enjoyable places to stay in Bangkok. All of the little things you come to expect (but are often not delivered) come together at this hotel with unpretentious efficient service at an exceptionally reasonable price. Highly recommended."

SKYVIEW Hotel Bangkok (SHA Plus+)
Sukhumvit,Sukhumvit - View on map
"My wife and i had a three night stay here as part of the first leg of our honeymoon. The location was vreat as it was right next to the BTS rail system which made it great for getting to the water taxis and anywhere else ( especially the airport, which was a lot cheaper than using a taxi). The pool was great, food at the restaurant was awesome for dinner and the included breakfast was especially nice- great variety and very good coffee. The room was very clean and quiet. Could not hear the roads through sukhumvit at all. The staff was very kind and got us extra bottles of water when we needed it and made sure we booked correct tours and made sure we knew where we were wanting to go befofe we left. "

Citadines Sukhumvit 8 Bangkok (SHA Plus+)
Sukhumvit,Sukhumvit - View on map
"This is a great little hotel in Sukhumvit, we have stayed here quite a few times now, the location is great because although you are in heart of it all the hotel is 500m up Soi 8 away from Sukhumvit Road so there are no dramas with noise at night and the rree Tuk Tuk will drop you off and pick you up so the 500m isnt really a problem. Breakfast is very basic but you can get good food and fruit on Soi 8 so not really a problem and the hotel is great value even if the rooms are a bit on the small side."

Novotel Bangkok Sukhumvit 4
Sukhumvit,Sukhumvit - View on map
"We had amazing experience during our stay in the hotel. I booked last minute room for my beloved wife to celebrate her birthday & I couldnt get view that facing main road on our first day. Staff Ellie did extra miles by showing us another room on that day but it was lower floor so we decided to just remain our room which facing another building. But Ellie did not forget about us, the next day, she called & had change our room which facing main road on the 19th floor! What amazing effort ! We love Ellie so much! We reached hotel at night & when we entered our new room, theres a cake & welcoming Happy Birthday on the bed! My wife so happy & nothing bring me happier than to see my wife happiness. Like they said “Happy wife Happy life!”! I would recommend Novotel Sukhumvit to my other friends not just because the hotel is new, the location is great, but what makes the hotel special is the staff that really sincere to serve the guest. Ellie should be given credit for her tremendous effort, "

Royal President Hotel (SHA Plus+)

"I am a returning customer, since the location is fantastic and probably one of the best value for money hotels in Sukhumvit. Restaurants are close, also 24h diner options and Bkk entertainment areas. The hotel staff is very professional, including the reception, cleaning women and security guards. The hotel is clean, has fortunately no carpet floorings and is mainly occupied by Japanese clients. "

Hotel Nikko Bangkok (SHA Plus+)
Sukhumvit,Sukhumvit - View on map
"Thais has always been known for their hospitality and after staying in many other 5 star hotels, I can't help but to give a "thumbs up" to the staff of Hotel Nikko team, especially to the concierge team - namely Aun (sorry if I gotten the name wrong, but the gentleman with the concierge key badge), pretty babes like Pare and Mom. They made the impossible to possible during our business stay. They managed to track for us a lost phone, and when flowers were sent to me, they ensure that it was well refrigerated before handing over to me. Housekeeping is also top notch. Only improvement when I return in my next stay would be the breakfast - though there is alot of varieties but a little change to the daily menu would be better, after all, it will get stale if each time u stay more than 1 week eating and seeing the same stuff. Will see you soon"

Somerset Sukhumvit Thonglor Bangkok (SHA Certified) (SHA Plus+)
Sukhumvit,Sukhumvit - View on map
"I stayed many other Hotels in Sukhumvit before and felt often that it was a great deal. This Somerset seems like an upgraded version in all aspects, better location, better room. Likes: The bathroom felt so clean with its lighting and room size. Gadgets in the room were nice. Also I really like the working space and desk lamp. It was a nice choice by designer. The bed was good as well. It made me sleep very tight. Everything has been fully provided. I wish I had this as my condominium unit. Marketplace is just few steps away on the opposite site. Unluckily, I didn't get a chance to walk down to the pool and have breakfast there. Next time I will definitely try! "

Kingston Suites Hotel Bangkok (SHA Plus+)
Sukhumvit,Sukhumvit - View on map
"One of the best hotels in Sukhumvit area. Even though, you need to walk about 100 meters from the main road, this is so close to the night life attractions. I suggest this hotel for family, couples also, since there is no noise and it is very peaceful. Quality of breakfast offered was superior. Rooms are very very new and nice. They upgraded me from superior to deluxe at no additional cost. Bathrooms are really big as shown on the website. Would recommened this hotel to everyone. Staff is very polite and curtious. "

More about Sukhumvit

Sukhumvit is Bangkok’s all-star shopping district, serviced by a spread of transport hubs, restaurants and entertainment complexes. Slick and modern, this district takes its name from Sukhumvit Road, essentially the backbone of Bangkok. It may not have many historic sites, but it more than makes up for this with cosmopolitan polish.

Sukhumvit certainly has something for everyone. Business travelers gravitate to five-star hotels around Queen Sirikit National Convention Center; tourists peruse back-alley bazaars and street cafés; while shoppers can pass entire days in the air-conditioned comfort of Sukhumvit’s huge shopping malls.

Most of the hotels in Sukhumvit are to the west around Robinson shopping center and several Skytrain (BTS) and subway (MRT) stations. To the east are shopping hubs like Emporium, the trendy J Avenue and Ekkamai Major shopping centers. The latter is next door to Bangkok's Eastern Bus Terminal. All of this is due north of a major bend in the Chao Phraya River, where express shuttles ply from one pier to the next.

Sukhumvit is a great place to be based because local transport lines head out to every major district in Bangkok. Sukhumvit itself branches off into countless side streets (sois), some of which can be explored on foot. Sois 4 and 21 (21/1 is called Soi Cowboy) light up at night with a tempting array of go-go bars and nightclubs.

There’s an art to exploring Bangkok, and first-time visitors are easily overwhelmed by the scope and sprawl of this city. The best experiences await those who narrow the field to one or two neighborhoods. Booking hotels in Sukhumvit puts tourists in a prime position to enjoy Bangkok’s cosmopolitan side, without giving up access to historic attractions.
