Awesome! ”

So easy! Clean rooms, not sure if they did without the night club bc I never hear anything and I stayed on Friday and Saturday night.... Nice staff, clean room... I've been in the hostel and private rooms... Hostels in general are not for me... But it was what is expected from a hostel... The private rooms are surprisingly nice, very clean and tidy.... Summer house hands down has the nicest private rooms out of any local backpackers place :-) def recommend !

well its a nice place to stay . very helpful staff”

Nice hostel . A little far from the CBD . But excesible by Trams . The skybus from the airport is very expensive. About >_<AUD $ 19. Alternatively you may take the public bus No. 901 from Terminal 4 carpark Ground floor to Broad meadows train station which is a 15 minute drive . From there take the train to Flinders Street station which is a 40 minute journey and from there take Tram No. 16 to St Kilda's tell the driver you need to alight at Barkly street. And it stops near the traffic light junction at Barkly Street. Just turn left at the traffic light along Barkly Street walk straight along Barkly Street, about 200 meters and at the first traffic light junction , Summer House is at the corner on the left . It costs only about AUD $6.00. If you want to save . :-) Nice place to stay. You can cook your own food . They have all the facilities like stoves, microwaves , ovens, storage fridges and utensils and cutlery. Enjoy the stay!

Ideal for backpackers!”

Value for money, very friendly and attentive staff, great location!

Originally booked for only 3 nights, ended up staying for over 3 weeks. Great location and very friendly staff made my stay very enjoyable. I would recommend it to every backpacker. The place is full of travellers from all over the world mostly staying in Melbourne for longer while working. There is common kitchen with a big fridge so you can cook your own meals. When you feel like relaxing you can use TV room to watch a movie or use internet. There is pretty fast wi-fi also available but you need to pay for it. There are two bars: main one on the ground floor and roof top one opened only during weekends, so you don't have to go far to have a beer! Overall a great hostel to stay while travelling around AU!!!

Cheap, clean and has an elevator

Nice and friendly place with a cosy pub downstairs. Comfortable bunks and not too noisy. St. Kilda is a really lovely place to stay. Internet costs 5 dollars per 4 hours and was really fast.

Very good”

Great little find in St Kilda beach sector of Melbourne with direct access from airport on Skybus. Has A$10 nights of steak and all you can eat pizza at the linked bar. Can be a little noisy, but not over powering if you choose third floor. Questionable security if you have to leave your bags on the day of departure, but for price paid very spacious clean room (we had room 301). About a 5 minute stroll to beach.

Very good”

My friend and I stayed in the private twin room. We were given a room that could actually fit 3 people, one of the beds was queen size. As we had our own bathroom, it was very convenient for us. It was relatively clean as well. We were just a little confused about the breakfast arrangement (we weren't sure which of the food belonged to the property, and which belonged to the other residents). We decided not to grab any in the end. The one big minus would be the noise from the party at night, which could well last until after midnight. This is probably not the place for people who are looking for a quiet evening after a long day out exploring Melbourne.

Daily Housekeeping at 10.30am. Free BBQ every Friday and one pint. Free t,shirt if you stay for a week. Free breakfast toast n jam. No alcohol allowed in the room you get kick out if you been caught.

Comfortable, a place to make friends, mostly of the European working in Melbourne and stayed long time in the hostel. Hostel is quite clean, kitchen, toilet inside every dorms. Hot water. I booked for a 2 days, ended up stay for 3 weeks. It's a lovely place friendly staff. If I visit Melbourne again in the future this is definitely my first choice!

Ok stay, weird vibes”

The hostel was alright. The proximity to St. Kilda beach is nice. I didn't like the vibe of the backpackers / long stayers there at all. There is no common space to socialize and the bar area is so-so. Only recommended for easy visits to the beach.

Good”

The kitchen is a huge downside to it and just not easily functional except any time when making food isn't a normal time. No breakfast bowls most of the time and although it's free the breakfast options and the availability has been better previously. That is the only thing I could really fault, room was comfortable and bathroom was fine. The rooftop area and seating section is pretty good but I'm not convinced the price is overall justified u less you can get it each time for a cheaper price.

Decent hotel with decent location”

Studio room was large. Place was overall clean. And location was a 5-7 min walk to the main Acland street.

The rooftop party on sat night could easily be heard from the music and the footsteps. But thankfully it all ended before midnight. So it was alright. Did not know the hotel was the same building as the hostel with the hotel on the 3rd and the hostel on the 1st and 2nd level. Overall it was value for money for its cleanliness and location.

Don't stay on Friday night ( if possible)”

Room is fine, toilet is clean

From my title, just don't stay on Friday night as they will have backpacker party at night. They blocked the way to the lift from ground floor when we are back from dinner around 9-10 pm. We need to use the stairs but they locked the door at level 3 (our room located) and we need to go through level 2 and sit the lift to level 3. Someone knocked in the middle of the night (someone who is drunk). The rest is fine.. Good service and they helped to book for airport transfer but no one at the reception if you want to check out early in the morning.

Very good facility ”

Very good and cheap hostel. Close to the tram stop but a little bit far from CBD. Staff were friendly and nice. There are the storage room and common room which you can enjoy staying for watching movie and leave your luggage there. And there is elevator!!! However there is no line that I can dry my clothes. A bit expensive for washing machine and dryer.

Modern appearance ”

Pros - location, very cheap eats and drinks at the bar downstairs, stylish bathrooms. The Estonian receptionist is very friendly. Cons - No recycling. 1 tiny & poorly maintained kitchen. When cleaners deep clean the room it was very poorly done, the hostel is new-looking so they can get away with not cleaning it well and it still looking relatively clean. Until time catches up to the facilities. Their idea of cleaning a bathroom was quickly wiping the floor with a mop. The people that would come in to inspect the cleaning would walk in, open the blinds, glance at the bathroom and leave. They didnt check under the beds, in the lockers, around the toilet or the walls in showers. Every is international including the receptionists, seems like most of the employees are doing the bare minimum. The english girl that runs the events isnt well trained on the reception work.
