    Great location but small rooms”

price reasonable, affordable, convenient and easy to get food and entertainment

It is a good place to stay for backpacker and those who want budget traveling. The hotel is located at center of the town of Kota Kinabalu. The staff of the hotel quite nice and service my friend and i with a smile most of the time, simply say quite friendly.Eventhough the room of the hotel quite small but it is convenient for both of us to sleep. We also can online with free of charge at the hotel. And i am quite pleased by the staff when they work very efficient on cleaning the floor that where my friend vomit after drunk.Thank you again here to the staff of the hotel on that night cause helping us clean the floor without complaining. What a wonderful stay and holiday to both of us.

    Satisfied expectations of low-key stay”

    Location, price, easy guest management

My stay in KK was fully dedicated to diving, so I only needed a clean room with bathroom to sleep in. No fuss. That's what I got at the Summer Lodge. Check-in, breakfast, my few enquiries about wifi and transport to the airport, and finally check-out - all was very basic and easy. The staff was friendly, but did not interfere at all with the guests unless requested. The room was basic (no window, no working aircon), but clean. I would recommend the place to independent travellers who don't need advice or help during their stay.

You get what you pay for”

    Price & location

It was not too bad but something to point out about the cleanliness of the room. It was a bit awful to found out that there were bloodstain on the bed sheet and the pillow smells bad too. I bet they never change the bed sheet before. No wardrobe in the room. Only small table and a bed. They did not prepare you any towel. You need to ask from them which the quality were awful as well. Apart from that, they provide misleading information. It stated that the room I book comes with a television but I was wrong. Found non in the room. Since it was my 1st stay at a Lodge accommodation, I bet this is standard for Lodge type of accommodation?

convenient but could but much better”

well-located in the heart of KK, ready for a backpack vibration

well-located, but a bit too expensive compared to real hotels booked online. Our room had no windows, smelled strongly humidity and had a lovely spider web drawing on the wall closed to the bed head. I've already seen better for this range of price as an hostel but in different cities... there's a breakfast too; minimalist but all-you-can-eat. I don't think I would come back

A disaster area get rid of them”

There are no facilities there. It is closed due to mortgage difficultis. I confimed the booking the night before our arrival. The place is closed. Some women live on the second floor. Men skeeping rough on 1st floor some disappeating quickly on our arrival. Illegal immigrants? we spoke with the "owner" he had no knowledge of the booking or even expected our arrival. We were fortunate enough to find alternative accom. when we checked our next accom. We were informed it was a no show our booking at Lavender Lodge was not until mid week 5 may get rid of any information relating to Summer Lodge. It is a disaster area. I hope i am not penalised for the mo show i had no booking references

good location, close to the action (such as it is), price

Mostly a backpacker-hostel-dorm type place, but they do have single rooms w/ own bathroom. Very basic, no TV; but A/C and wifi acceptable. One flight of stairs just to get to office, then another to get to first rooms. Woke up one morning, surprised to find Gaya Sunday market going strong, right out front door. A pleasant surprise indeed.

Very dissappointed with this lodge ”

When we arrived at the counter, no receptionist there at the counter. Waiting for almost half an hour, only the person back. After checking in the lodge, the person told us, no water supply at the moment but actually few days like this situation. At last we left the lodge without overnight, have to find another place to stay, very awful.

I booked a private dorm attached bathroom for 2 person. However, it is out of our expectation that they provide a 8-bed dorm for us. At last, they promised that no other clients would allowed to stay in our dorm. Nearby are serveral pub and cafe, so, noise pullution is very seriouly till mid-night! Can't sleep well.....
