The location of the hotel is excellent. Just walk out of the hotel and you can access almost everything; food, malls, textile shops etc. The room itself is not great, the bathroom walls were moldy and the shower head was black. We were told breakfast will be ready at 6am but it was not ready till about 7am. Overall it was am ok experience as we had a short stopover about 12 hours so i guess it’s ok. Anything more I would not recommend this hotel.
Good location, walking distance to shopping area”
i was there as a solo traveller during my stay there, location is very good as it was near to the main junction although it was located inside a smaller road. but the distance to the junction is merely 1-2 minutes walk. there is also a shopping mall located nearby which reachable by 10 minutes walking. wifi only available at lobby area, i would appreciate if they can improve by having wifi in all the room for more convenient.
Good location for shopping at Malioboro Street”
This hotel is just a boutique hotel and let say as 2 star hotel with NO elevator, room is good enough for sleep with high ceiling, bathroom is good, very close to Malioboro Street and Royal Palace of Yogyakarta, Tugu station and 'Pasar Kembang'. But the breakfast is little bit poor for foreigner but no problem for local but not many kind of food serve in the table row. over all is nice to stay here.
Great Location at a Good Price”
The location is great. We took the public bus from the airport which, although SRO, took us to about half a block from the hotel. Very cheap and convenient. Right outside is Malioboro, with lots of cheap places to eat, a nearby mall, and lots of things to see. The central location at a very reasonable rate are definite reasons to stay here. There are, however, several other hotels that looked much much better in the same area, just not sure if they'll be as cheap. Be prepared for very basic accommodations, though. The breakfast was like eating cardboard in sauce, and the room smelled funny. I don't think they have lifts here, either. But if all you need is basic accommodation and price is a strong consideration, then go ahead and book this hotel!
there is no internet connection in the room. The breakfast was just enough to fill our stomach. The spoiled toaster was there on the 25th march, everybody tried to use it but could not function, on 26th & 27th march, the staff just took it away, no replacement. The room was a bit dark, not enough lighting. No hangers provided, the hooks on the door was too high.

nice hotel in the tourist area”
Newly opened and still working on their facilites. I booked deluxe room but they upgraded to bigger room. Breakfast was good only people smoking in restaurants during breakfast disturbing me badly.
Breakfast is nice. But the room is quite small with the noisy sound of exhaust in the bathroom. Bathroom sink did not quickly absorb the water from the shower, so it's like a little flood inside the bathroom. You need to wait up to 1 hour until you can use it again. Got first floor bedroom, I don't know if the other rooms happened to have the same problem. Realy need improvements..
Okay but not that okay....”
The hotel is worthy due to the location which is very near to the infamous Jln Malioboro; kinda a shopping haven for souvenir hunters. However, the hotel not having a lift is a letdown. Taking the stairs to bring luggages is tiring but one of the staff was helpful to bring the luggages to my room. On my arrival day, I requested for a single bed and it was on the second floor. The receptionist was trying to explain that there is another room at the first floor having 2 single beds but i did not get it as he was talking in fast Indonesian rather and speaks no English. Though i understand the language little bit, he should have said it slowly. I got the information later when my tour driver explained about the situation on the next day, told to him by the security. These people in front desk should learn to speak English. There was also no towels provided in the room on the first day and little too much of smoke smell in the room. I had to ask the reception downstairs when i went down at 5am on the next day and he was rather confused of what i am asking as he was fast asleep. The food mostly consists of simple menu, not varied. Another let down no WIFI in the rooms. Wifi only avails at the lobby and the restaurant.
for a couple you may not choose this hotel”
here i shared you our experience: 1. when we came to the hotel there is no help hand from the staff to bring our lugage 2. toilet was not clean, found a pee on the floor 3. smell toilet 4. smell room from cigar 5. breakfast choises is good enough, found bread, jam, butter, yogurt, milk, rice, etc. 6. there is no clean thats! hope you increasing your service and property.
Friendly and attentive staff, clean environment ”
Check in and check out was fast but for an executive room the room seems small. Hot water was difficult as it came in a flask. No tissue paper provided. AS we stayed one night only it was not so inconvenient. A Westerner will find difficulty eating mostly Asian food!
Comfort and relax”
Had a good rest. Rooms are clean and big.Only thing is that there was NO elevator or lift if you are taking room in 3rd floor.Once accounter this problem, staffs already change the room to 1st floor.
its great location hotel in Yogyakarta especialy in malioboro, but when we stay there the room maid need more tobe consistent when provide the hotels amenities. the breakfast on the day one its just so so.. but on the day two its very tasty :)
Not if you want to sleep”
Well, what can you say ? Breakfast isn't what one could expect, but that's not the issue here. It's not the planes flying right above either. But being woken up at 4:15 AM to listen to the chants of the muezzin for 20 minutes every night is just too much. A tiny mosque in the middle of the tourist centre has speakers as loud as any rock festival. So sorry for the good people of Yogyakarta, but never again.
At first day everything was good, my mate justcomplained about the food was totally different with the picture they showed. Food was poor even for local tourist! Second day was worse, can you imagine their single staff was cooking, cleaning the table, and serving people at the same time, the worst thing was she also in pregnant condition! Gezz, when i was complaining to the manager about this uncomfort breakfast situation, she wanted to report me to the police because i was complaining to hard! So i took decision to having breakfast outside and i promise NOT to stay at this hotel anymore, management was amateur, they didnt make us comfy at all!!
Perfect place nearby down town”
We have spent a good vacation in Summer Hotel. Only a bit problem which is towel provided by the hotel may need to be refreshed. Other than that, the hotel is okay with affordable price, strategic place, clean room thats all what we need. Our plan to ruin the city was so much helped by the position of the hotel, and we have happily end our vacation in Yogyakarta.
Hotel With Minimum Service”
The hotel classifies itself as a "boutique hotel" in which I could not find any attractive things that suit to the classification. The staff were not well trained to welcome the guest even in a simple way (before I entered to the hotel lobby, I have prepared my Agoda hotel vou, and showed it to the hotel staff who then grabbed my hotel vou - checked it and gave me my room key without any words !!). The room is equipped with only 2 tiny lamps. A coffee maker is provided, yet you have to move it to the floor when you are about to boil a water. Toilet was dirty and smelly
Dissapointd with the hotel room.”
Very dissapointed with the room. No toilet paper, smelly bathroom, dim lighting, rats running across ceiling board, lousy breakfast, no room hifi. Staff not friendly. Problem if you stay in higher floor as there is not lift.
Not recommended. Worst hotel room I ever stayed.”
There is no toilet paper. Not even the holder! Towel no longer white & has brownish stain. Bathroom has a smelly odour. Room light very dim. No cupboard. Just hanger at back of door. Rats running all over the ceiling board affect my sleep. Room lock not secure. Main switch for light not safe. No hifi in room. Only at reception but poor connection. Buffet breakfast bad. No refill when food finished. Worst hotel room. Was stated as deluxe room in website. Should be basic budget room. Also no underlay beneath blanket. Use & reuse by all guests.
A hotel with possibilities”
The Summer Season Hotel in Yogyakarta has the possibility to become a very popular hotel. It's very reasonably priced, has quite spacious rooms, and is very centrally located only a few minutes from Jalan Malioboro, the main street in Yogyakarta. A reasonable buffet breakfast is included in the price. However, the hotel has two drawbacks. The rooms are not sufficiently lit. There are only some lamps on the bedside tables, and on the small table along the wall. If you want to use the coffee maker, you have to unplug one of the lamps, and the cable of the coffee maker doesn't reach the socket. The other problem is the fact that there is no emergency exit. Also, there is nowhere a fire extinguisher or hose to do anything about a calamity. If the management of the hotel can solve these two problems, the hotel could be one of the most popular places to stay in Yogyakarta.
