Dirty toilets ”
1. The common toilets are very dirty. Cheap doesn't mean it can be dirty. Cheap should only mean less facilities. 2. No commode for men's toilet. Completely illogical to not have one. 3. Unwanted sounds all night, bad soundproofing. Again, cheap doesn't mean the rooms can have cardboard walls. A hotel should atleast ensure proper sleep irrespective of the price.

Sun Moon Lake Vacay”
I stayed here for 4 days to visit Sun Moon Lake. Naluisland has a prime location with walking distance to Ita Thao Pier, the Nantou bus stop and other hiking paths. Naluisland is clean and has a simple useful layout for each room. TV includes HBO & CNN in English, there is a mirror, drawer space and chairs. There is temperature control in each room. There's also a common eating area. I stayed alone in a regular room but could've easily fit 2 others since there were enough sleeping accommodations. The free wifi has relatively good reception. The Naluisland staff is reachable by phone, Facebook and the Line app if they aren't at the front desk. There's also a giant bell to ring if they are needed and next door. Breakfast is delivered in the mornings. It's not fancy but if you're just staying in the area to visit, it's nice to have a quiet and close place to come back to after hiking and biking all day.

I would say the receptionist is really very helpful. She helped me with checking the rates of cabbing around. She also upgrade my hostel with shared bathroom to a private double bed with private bathroom as there was no other people staying at that moment. Hotel wise is really worth the money.. walking distance from sun moon lake.. However, I won't recommend staying at sun moon lake, as there is nothing much to do other than one small valley of food. One day will be more than enough.

A good spot, good price for the money. *NOTE* if you arrive to the Sun Moon Lake area AFTER 5p then the round-the-lake busses will not be running and taxis will charge the exorbitant price of 500nt to go the 10km to this hotel. If you plan on staying here, get to Sun Moon Lake BEFORE 5p.

If you are travelling to sun moon lake, I recommend this place the lady was very nice and has given me tips that makes my experience with sun moon lake memorable. Good amenities and room was clean. Will stay again should I come back to sun moon lake.

Good location, value for money”
The hotel was located along the main road and can be easily found. I arrived early in the morning so they let me leave my baggage in the lobby. The room was spacious and had two beds, one single and one double. They also gave coupons that can be used at a nearby shop for breakfast but can actually be claimed from 10 am to 8 pm. It was a nice place to stay since it was a few minutes walking distance to the Ita Thao pier and Sun Moon Lake cable car station. The room was also cheap for its size which is good for budget travelers like me. I will recommended this hotel to my friends.

Funky Hostel”
This is a very funny hostel. I arrived to Sun Moon Lake in around 10 PM. No one in receptionist, so I had to knock other people's room to ask, and a bunch of teenagers told me that no one will help you for check in, you can either take any rooms you want, or call the owner. Since I had no local numbers, I actually a bit panicked, but then found a phone near reception desk and use it to call the owner. She did not seems surprised that I called her from her phone and tell me that she will come soon. In a moment, she came with a purse contain of TV remote, AC remote and key to my room. Then she said I just need to leave the purse in the table when I'm going to check out. The reception actually had a TV and some souvenirs, but they never locked the door -- which is neither good or bad, just funny because they didn't afraid someone going to rob them. In overall, room is decent, clean, and the location is the best (in Ita Thao, biggest village in the lake and only 5 mins walk to lake). But mostly everyone who stays there are local teenagers on their break. So it was good for solo travelers or youngsters, but definitely no for family with young children or elders.

Peaceful and satisfactory”
The name itself suggests that it is not a hotel but a house. Room was neat and clean. According to price, one should not expect staff services at par with hotels, but it was completely a value for money experience. The owner will inform you beforehand that she will not be at the reception and you can contact her via social media or call her. The location is quite near the market and very convenient to visit the nearby spots. In all had a perfect and peaceful stay.

Due to the language barrier and online maps not having proper addresses and numbers it was a little difficult to find the place at first, although it is quite easy to locate on the main road, a few meters before the police station. There's noone working at the entrance so all communications need to happen via phone or chat apps. We traded our (basic) breakfast for a bigger room, which was clean, spacious and nice. The village is probably the best to stay on the lake, although beware everything dies out after 7pm and your only options after that would be whatever is left at the convenience stores.

Location was pretty good, near the pier but not like the main Sun Moon Lake Pier. Cheap yet clean, but there was a stench in the ladies' bathroom. Still pretty good value for money tho.

A few unsatisfactory events like poor sound proofing, some of the shared bathrooms were a little dirty. But overall the price is good compared to other hotels around sun moon lake

cheap, clean and private”
I'd totally recommend this place. The woman who runs it is really nice and friendly, the place is clean, the beds are very firm but fine, there's hot and cold drinking water, the breakfast stuff provided (e.g. box of milk drink and packaged pastry) is hardly gourmet, but totally fine, and the price is very good.

Could be improved”
Rooms were large and very clean and the breakfast was very good. However, there was never anyone at reception to help us out and it's located in the south village of the lake which makes the bus more difficult to catch compared to being located in the main town in the north. Our room's TV didn't work, nor did the Wifi and the aircon made very loud noises in the night. Has the potential to be great but we were unable to get these problems fixed as no one was ever on reception!

Good location and clean good sizes room”
Location is round the corner from the ferry port or down the road from the bus stop, so convenient for either. We had a big room which was clean and comfy beds, good pressure and hot water in the shower. You get a choice of either breakfast, a dessert voucher or money off at a local restaurant. breakfast is simple from local convenience store and the dessert is 'taiwanese' style...good if you haven't tried before. No staff are present at the hotel, but are only round the corner and easily contactable thru Line, WhatsApp or facebook.

오후 6시 이후 르웨탄 도착하시는 분이라면 절대 예약금지”
This hotel is located at 'Ita thao 伊達邵' that is 9km opposit side from the 'Suishe 水社' to which every buses are arrived from the other cities. If you arrive at 'Suishe 水社' after 18:00, there is no way to go this hotel only except taxi fared NT$500. Brakfast(?) is just one piece of instant bread;; The front desk is always empty with no staff. If there is any requirement or question, the guests must call or chat to the staff. Room charge was competitive, but it was not so convenient to stay.
