Beautiful and Awesome place.DON'T TAKE SUNARI TAXI”

Scenery, Dolphine, Swimming pool, Spaceous toilet

It was a wounderful day staying at Sunari, Lovina. Nice scenery with lovely garden, swimming pool beside the beach where you can get a trip to see Dolphine. Awesome! However, Lovina is quite an isolated place compare to Ubud or Kutu where you can easily get a Taxi at a cheaper price. So remember to make the taxi who send you to Lovina will send you back. This is what i experience, i get the Taxi from Sunari Resort to go to Kutu. And they insist the driver is their friend, i din't get to know the driver is sunari staff who is doing part time Taxi driver. With his bad attitude and taxi service it spoilt our holiday mood in Bali. He even drive dangerously for answering his call of nature. huh a lesson learnt, don't get their Taxi!!!

The best hotel of my Bali trip”

Swimming pool, beach and the peace

lovina was our second stop of bali trip, in which we enjoyed 2 days. sunari villas & spa hotel is the best hotel comparing to those we stayed in kuta, ubud and uluwatu. the environment is so great that i was shocked a lot when i saw the swimming pool just several steps near the beautiful beach. the room is so big and the facilities are really new and great. i do love it and i'll stay in it next time if i have next trip to lovina.

Peaceful seaside resort”

The hotel's restaurant with the swimming pool right in front of it is situated on the beach. This means that can enjoy a pretty and peaceful view while having your lunch/dinner. The rooms are clean, modern and they all have a terrace. The personnel is very friendly too.
It's a 20-30 minute walk to the centre of Lovina, but the hotel can provide a taxi for a good price.

Lovina is a peaceful place in the North of Bali. Sunari Villas and Spa Hotel is an ideal hotel to stay if you wish to do a dolphin trip at sunrise or dive on Menjangan Island. Although the hotel is rather big, it doesn't feel that way thanks to the way the rooms/villas are organised around the garden. The rooms are clean, modern and well looked after. The restaurant is situated at the back of the garden with the view on the swimming pool and the beach. It's an open restaurant, and you can choose to sit inside or outside at the swimming pool. The food is very nice, but I advise you to stick to Indonesian/Balinese food. The garden is also very neat and well looked after. The swimming pool has a lovely shape and the water looks heavenly blue thanks to the blue tiles at the bottom. At night, the swimming pool is lit, which creates a special atmosphere. We had originally booked for 2 nights, but liked this peaceful place so much that we decided to extend our stay!

Relaxing Resort, North coast”

Great garden layout, relaxed non hectic atmosphere.

this is a resort built in the 70's, the first on lovina beach. it still has a calm, relaxing and friendly atmosphere and sitting bay the big pool, looking out throught he palmtrees across the ocean is fantastic. always a small selection of food at the pool/beach bar and breakfast is very good with a wide range on offer. tea and coffe could be improved but this is general in bali. the room was quiet and big. one negative, that there are no hand-towels provided but everything else was excellent.

Beautiful and quiet hotel”

Pool, ocean view, peaceful, breakfast

We had a Garden View Villa in Sunari for 3 nights. We liked the room, very nice. The outdoor shower in the bathroom was definitely our favourite part of the room. We ate breakfast and a lunch and dinner at the hotel restaurant, the food was fairly good. We also did a romantic couple package at the sunari, this was not so good. The girls doing our massage were giggling and talking throughout the entire time, rather unprofessional. I would not return to the spa. Aside from the spa, the hotel was great and I would stay there again if we return to Lovina on our next trip.

Nice hotel with a great pool and good location”

Location - pool - big room

We was a family group 6 adults and 3 small children stayed in Sunari hotel for 5 nights. We had a pleasant stay in bungalows, near the beach and restaurant. The Room was a little old but OK- The room with own swimming pool was smaller and a little older but the garden was fine. The Children loved the pool. The sunset was fantastic. Location 1,4 km to central Lovina was a easy walking distance along the beach or road. Supermarket 0,6 km. The dolfin watch outside the hotel was fantastic. Hotel prices for sightseeing was to high - but easy to book outside. Taxi was a little difficult to get - but the hotel driver was easy to book - but wery expencive. Hotel Resturant was a good choise if we did not want to walk. Hotel was Very quite - exelent for relaxing. Massage was good

Lovely place, with ups and downs”

Beautiful surroundings, good service, big swimming pool, right on the beach

we have very warm memories about our time in sunari. however, it was not love at first sight. we grew to like it. if you are someone who notices every scratch - it is not the place for you. the rooms (at least our room) needed some updating. the furniture was quite old, some things were in need of repair. the room and bathroom were well proportioned though and quite convenient. we were pleasantly surprised that there were no mosquitoes in our room or bathroom at any time. the staff were very friendly and helpful. the place is very relaxing, the restaurant has a beautiful view looking out to the sea. the food was ok, the dinners were better than the breakfasts. at some evenings there were live performances at the restaurant, and always at breakfasts - very nice relaxing indonesian music. sunari is a little bit far from the centre of the village, but in walking distance either by the road or along the beach (about 15-20 minutes walking). there is a very small playground for young children, apart from that there was not much for them to do, but as we noticed it is a common problem in bali. however, our children were enjoying watching the fish in the hotel ponds. out of all the restaurants we ate in, we preferred semina (if i remember the name correctly) - with young girls performing a local dance every night. it was quite enjoyable watching the dances while waiting for your food. it was a bit spicy, but with good quality of home-made food. we tried khi-khi restaurant as it was recommended in other reviews and by locals. our first time was great, but the second was very disappointing (though we ordered almost same dishes - they were very hot and spicy - unlike the first time, the waiter kept forgetting everything and finally they miscalculated our bill in their favour. our stay had ups and downs but overall it was lovely and we did not want to leave.

Woderful Sunari in Bali”

Quiet, beautiful, local, big, villa

the main point is quiet.my husband and me enjoyed staying in sunari for several days when we were in bali. it's convinent to see the dolphins in the early morning and u will never find a hotel with 4 stars at such a low price, with all of the good service, equipment and environment. the waiter and waitress are polite, quiet and good. the villa is big enough with a bath room semi outdoor, which is really fantastic. only one tip: use anti-mosquito cream before you go to the semi outdoor bath after sunset, because it's your toilet, too!

Relaxing Stay”

Lovely pool, nice villas, great spa

We got a great deal at the Sunari through Agoda and got a villa with private plunge pool at a very good rate. The room was a good size with a romantic four poster and modern bathroom with outdoor shower. The pool was in a private courtyard area with a day bed and loungers. The main hotel pool was probably the nicest on our holiday, with a lovely water temperature and views out to sea. We booked a couples treatment in the spa which was very luxurious with a large jacuzzi bath filled with flower petals to finish off. We didn't eat dinner in the restaurant as we wanted to explore Lovina but breakfast was fine, a fairly standard help yourself buffet. We really enjoyed our stay and it was great to have our own pool. If we went back to Lovina we would probably stay in the centre, purely because we really liked the laid back bar scene but the Sunari is definitely a good hotel for families or couples wanting to be a little further out and taxis are fairly cheap.

The Best Hotel in Lovina”

Wheelchair Friendly, Ease of Access, Pool Overlooking the Ocean, Peace and Quiet, Amazing Sunsets

As a Wheelchair user (paraplegic) I often have trouble finding suitable accommodation so it was great to find this hotel on the north side of Bali. While it is not specifically designed for wheelchair use there are enough ramps around the hotel to make access possible with assistance. The entry to the hotel is elevated and their are steep ramps on either side of the foyer. No real hassle as there is always plenty of assistance on hand. (I use a manual chair) We were upgraded to a Villa (it was low season) which made it a lot easier to navigate the room. (Most of the hotel rooms had a column in the way of the entry that would make WC access very difficult) There were 2 small steps up to the room entrance which were no bother for me and my brother to climb and I could wheelie down them without bother. Once up these steps the room was completely WC friendly. Ample space, wide doors and a very large indoor/outdoor bathroom. Plenty of room to navigate around the toilet and it had a shower over bath arrangement with a wand style shower head. I can transfer pretty easily and it was easy for me to get in and out of the bath for a shower. (Though a bathboard would have been handy) No easy access to gym (about 4-5 steps up) Did not check out spa Pool easy to get to either up a steep ramp with assistance or up the gentle slope of the grassed area. You will need to transfer yourself in and out of the pool bit it is great once you are in and I was 1-3 times a day. View to ocean easy to get to and you can wheel right to the edge of the beach and watch the sunset. Easy access to bar and restaurant via pool area. Relatively easy access to toilets by pool. One small step to get up and down. Toilet doors wide enough for my manual chair. Access to shops is down the road (around 300 metres to 1km depending on what you want). Easiest way to do this in a chair is to just roll down the road and avoid the sidewalks. There are plenty of small food shops, a fresh f

Good location, nice room and pool but old”

Nice room and swimming pool

The experience in Sunari is pleasing. This Japanese style hotel has a large lobby and many rooms and villas. Our room is located close to the pool so we walked a little far in the path with trees and flowers. The room is a bit old, and many insects were flying at night in the balcony. The swimming pool is at the beach, so we can see the sea directly from the pool.

pool is amazing , clean and big , right on the beach , plenty of sun beds , resturant jad fantastic food and a very cheap price 8 beautiful entertainment

Third time I have stayed at sunari , once again I loved our stay . The room we had this time was a standard room, but was spacious with an out door bathroom , last time we stayed in a pool villa , well worth the extra money if u can afford it. Was upgraded another ti.e to the presidential suit omg amazing. Close to shops and resturants. Although u realy do t have to move from the hotel if u dont want to

Friendly hotel - far from crowds”

Staff, spa treatments, pool breezes

Loved Sunari and would go back very happily. Its a realtively low key place far from, hectic crowds. Shops, ATM and restaurants are an easy 15 -25 minutes walk away should you want groceries or some variety. Very local area so dont expect loads of souvenir shops and the like. The beach is average as volcanic sand, but we stayed by the pool and had the best of the view and the breezes. We saw dolphins from the beach so no need to go out on the boats! All the staff were a joy and so friendly to us. Many visitors just come for one night to go on a tour so we felt we had a much more pleasant trip getting to know the local area over the course of a week. The spa treatments were lovely - the flower bath divine as its a sunken hot tub large enough for four rather than just us two.

Relaxing Hotel & Beautiful Surroundings”

Spacious villas, peaceful, great location close to a range of restaurants

We arrived at Sunari and the first thing we were impressed by was the warm welcome at check in. The porter took us to our Garden Villa and the moment he opened the door we were amazed at the size of our villa. The villa was maintained well cleaniness must clearly be a high priority because it was spotless and the grounds of the Hotel were free of any fallen leaves. The gardens were full of birds & it was always a pleasant walk to breakfast with the scents from the orchids, fruit trees & mixed flowers.

A great place to relax”

Quaint and peaceful

a mixture of chalets and rooms, all spacious. the beds were huge, you need a passport to visit your partner! the breakfast was excellet with lots of choice. the gardens a re pleasant with a nice leisure pool. plenty of sun beds. local boat operators aren,t allowed on site, but wait to pound as soon as ypou step on the beach. very pleasant and smiley until you book with someone else. there seems to be a local 'understanding' that they own the visitors to the hotel on their stretch. go elswhere and they are quick to show their displeasure. this is an unpleasant side of bali we have never experienced elswhere. the staff at the hote are very helpful, especially the waitressed. they piut on a really good gala for the new year, a pity there weren't many guests to enjoy it.

Lovina”

Convenient location, wonderful poolside service, great value meals/drinks

This was our 3rd stay at Sunari Villas...we had a pleasant relaxing time. Easy access to massages either on beach or in the privacy of the resort, we always enjoy the breakfasts and the the great value you get for your money. The resort had obviously been well maintained over the years and its gargens are gorgeous. I enjoyed my 3rd stay as much as my first.

Peaceful place”

Price/quality ratio is good. Staff is very good and helpful. Food in the restaurant is excellent.
In overall one can see the result of aging. The gym is rather poor.

For a western couple of 30-something travelling without children Sunari Villas provided a peaceful, restful and safe private villa for several happy vacation days. We found that the villa itself was not too big, but with the private, small but deep pool, veranda, indoor bathroom and an additional outdoor shower it was very nice. The restaurant provided great service and meals. The gym is a bit old, but the big pool is good for swimming. The black sand beach is very near, but it's not good for sun bathing, running or swimming due to many vendors, boats and high waves. In overall Sunari is a good choice.

Loved it :)”

Pool, customer service, open roof shower

i was expecting a real dive after the reviews i'd read after booking through agoda however when i got there i was pleasantly surprised. we had a garden villa which was a short walk to the absolutely beautiful pool which overlooks the beach. the place was empty so it was like a private haven for us. the room was plenty big enough and the open roof shower was a nice surprise. yes the rooms are old but they are clean and tidy. each and every staff went out of their way to greet us. we didn't eat at the hotel but drinks were more expensive than kuta as you would expect plus we didn't have much time to explore our surrounds to get cheaper prices. some really nice hotels in the area for food though.
