Lovely Hotel and nice service with budget Price”
we are very pleased stay in this hotel, because this hotel in only 5 minutes walk from low yat plaza, and near bukit bintang area. this hotel offer a cheap price, but the room is very clean and staff are very helpful and professional. we like that this hotel offer a dispenser for us,to get our hot or cold mineral water for free.so,we don't need to buy any mineral water, that's means help us save our cost. when we want to go to another place in kuala lumpur city, just walk for 10 minutes to imbi station near berjaya times square, and also sungai wang plaza 1st floor. until midnight the location still very nice because of bukit bintang area nightlife is along the night.
Great value, excellent location & friendly staff”
My girlfriend and I originally booked one night here, but ended up staying for four because we enjoyed our stay so much. The rooms are a good size and quite clean. The front desk staff were very accommodating and friendly, helping us with any questions or inquiries we had. The filtered hot/cold water fountain was a lifesaver! We probably saved 20 ringgit on bottled water alone. Location is right in the centre of Bukit Bintang and a 5-20min walk to all the major sights. If you'd refer to cab, there's plenty on the street and you can get anywhere for 8-15 ringgit. Will definitely stay here again the next time we're in Kuala Lumpur!
Large n clean room to stay”
It was fantastic experience. We came to the hotel 3 hours before check in time. The female receptionist advised us to come back on time since the room was not ready yet. So we just left the lugages and went back after an hour, since we were really tired. Luckily the room was ready as soon as we got there. The receptionist let us checking in and staying. We r very grateful and we thanked to her. The hotel looks small but room is spacious and the toilet as well. Staff are friendly and helpful. Since the hotel located on 10th floor, lift is the only answer unless you want to take the stair. It takes 5-15 minutes or more to wait the lift. It brings the hotel to the downside. The management has put someone to be in charge operating the lift manually. It does help but not much. The wifi in the room disconnects every 10 minutes if you dont do anything on your laptop or tablet pc. Then you have to login and put the password again. Its a bit annoying. The wifi speed is enough only to open email and decent browsing but not for youtubing because it will freeze. The hotel is sometimes a bit noisy between 10pm-3pm but tolerable. There are few night clubs around. The room price is acceptable especially since it is located at Bukit Bintang. Overall this hotel is perfect for budgeted traveller who need comfort place after hanging around the whole day. We would come back to this hotel next year.
Good location at affordable rates”
Stayed at the Sunbow Hotel Residency in KL for a night during a stopover trip. The two best things about this hotel is that it has an excellent location in Bukit Bintang (just behind the Royale Bintang Hotel and a very short hop over to the Federal Hotel and Plaza Low Yat). Also, the rates are very reasonable and affordable. Its half the price of what you get at the nearby Royale Bintang and Federal Hotels. The facilities are more than adequate for a short stay. Room i stayed was very clean and functional. Free Wifi was also stable and relatively fast. The drawbacks would be the fact that the hotel is located within a building known as Sun Complex which is dated and has quite a sleazy feel to it. Only 1 lift goes straight to the 10th floor where the hotel is located. During peak periods, be ready to wait alittle as the lifts are quite slow and are usually packed. Also, the area just outside the Sun Complex while fine during the day, is quite dimly lit in the night and probably not a good idea to walk around the alleys parallel to the building at night (these alleys will lead you rather convienently to Berjaya Times Square at Jalan Imbi). Despite that, if you are a shopping buff, the Sunbow Hotel Residency is a great choice in terms of location and you can probably spend more on your shopping trips instead of forking out the extra money on a four-star hotel located in the same area.
small but clean,very nice staff”
a small hotel situated on the 10th floor of a bussines building, just in the midle of Kuala Lumpur, you have everythink 2 min around you,monorail,malls,bus,shops,foodcourt..you are in the middle of the golden triangle.the rooms are really small but very clean,we booked a room with cityview but we become a room without window,we was pissed off and we complaine at the reception and they apologized for this missunderstanding and they change our romm with another with a spectacular view....I was really surprised for the amability of the staff.I recomand this hotel to everyone who need a loial price-quality hotel in KL.
Very good, we looked around all day for an alternative hotel in the area and were appalled at the state of the other places in the same price range. the young check-in guy was very attentive, we extended our stay through him, we got the same price as agoda, we printed and photocopied via him, he couldn't have been more helpful. The room is very modern with a really nice arrangement of bathroom, big shower, separate from the toilet. The hotel is situated right next to Low Yat IT mall and the Indonesian embassy (Visa's) is just a short walk away. Loads of malls around containing a cinema. Get to the hotel via the mono rail stop at Imbi station and cut across to jalan bukit bintang.
Trustworthy staff, very clean and comfortable”
This is my 2nd time here. I was also here last September so I knew exactly what i was in for: very clean rooms, comfortable beds, hospitable staff, wifi that works and fast, nice clean bathrooms with new fittings. I actually left my phone upon check out so I rushed back an hour later and they were already ready for me - they have in fact called agoda to inform me about my phone. This is the perfect place to lose your stuff because they will keep them for you. If only they can do something about the limited elevator, this would be the perfect place to stay in KL because it's in the heart of Bukit Bintang practically a stones throw away from the malls: BB Plaza, Low Yat, etc. The Bukit Bintang monorail station is also nearby. Since it's situated slightly inwards from Bukit Bintang (beside Sky Hotel), the place is relatively "quieter".
Great location with clean comfortable rooms.”
we were not expecting much from sunbow hotel since we knew from the start that it's a budget hotel. we were quite surprise on how comfortable the rooms are. the hotel was about a 10 minute walk from the bus stop at berjaya times square. crossing the street to other side, we just casually walk until we reach jalan bukit bintang and ask around where the hotel was. it was really quite easy to find. it is beside the federal hotel and at the back of the royal bintang hotel. the thing i really like about this place is that all things that you want to go are just within walking distance. if your a shopper just step out of the hotel and you get to see lots of shops and shopping malls. we found out during our stay that there's this street around 2 blocks away that has lots of local restaurants that serve different cuisine at a good price. the hotel lobby and rooms are in the 10th floor, you get to access it using 2 elevators at the ground floor. the queue at the elevators sometimes get quite long and would take a few minutes to get your ride, you can use their third elevator on the far left which only takes you up to the 9th floor and walk your way up one floor to get to the hotel. we prefer this 3rd elevator since its much faster and few people uses it. the rooms are newly renovated with a modern touch. the bathroom was really nice and clean. we had the deluxe room, the bed was comfortable and they have 5 fluffy pillows. the staffs always clean the rooms and change the sheets everyday. the only thing that concerns and annoyed us was when we open the room after a day of going out, is that it smells funny. but after turning on the air conditioning it would just go away. i guess the ventilation vents only works when the room is being occupied since the rooms electrical power is powered on using the magnetic key. the staff are great, always helpful and can speak english. other than the funny smell in the room, i cannot say anything negative about this place.
At first we find it hard to find the hotel since the building is under renovation and the hotel is at the 10th floor of Sun Complex Building. We booked 2 nights in agoda bec we said if its not good we will transfer hotel. After a day we started looking another hotel in agoda but other hotel is more expensive and a bit far from the center of bukit bintang. We decided to stay till the end of our holiday. One of the staff told me he will give me a good price and he did. All our concern was being attended by the staff. If you are used to expensive hotels don’t expect too much but at least i can say it is safe and clean place to stay. Very good location bec it is near Plaza Low Yat, Time Square and Imbi lrt station (don’t expect it is very near as if you’re just going the street) 5 mins walk to Julan Alor where you can find a long street with a lot of restaurant. Will definitely stay here again when i get back.
Second stay and not disappointed”
This was my second stay at this hotel. It has a great location in Bukit Bintang, very handy to the monorail (once you work out the back way to get there) and the center of Bukit Bintang shopping district. Lots of eateries nearby, coffee shops, bars etc. The Sun complex itself is uninspiring and pretty shabby on the outside, but the hotel is a marked contrast to this once you get up to the 10th floor location. Rooms are small but the beds very comfortable. Shower and bathroom are good. WiFi works OK. The only negative this time was noise at night from the floor above.
More Than We Expected”
Our stay in Sunbow Hotel Residency was tremendously great! It is a budget hotel, but we got more than we paid. We had electric kettle, mini fridge, LCD TV, thermos, big queen bed with extra pillow, and a spacious room of course. The bathroom is totally clean and nice. We also got complimentary coffee and toiletries. The location was superb. You can just walk around 50 m to the hotel from 7/11 store which is in front of the monorail station. There are some food stalls around the hotel. Every morning, you'll see a lady selling nasi lemak and there are 2 stalls of Muslim food. You can go to Bukit Bintang, Sungei Wang Plaza, Pavilion Mall by foot from the hotel. It took around 10-15 minute walk. It took 1 hour to go to the airport by Aero Bus. Unfortunately, the wifi connection in the hotel wasn't that good. Hopefully they'll fix it soon. I recommend this hotel to all budget travelers who will to visit Malaysia.
Very good experience staying there”
First of all, the room is very nice & comfortable, staff is very friendly & attentive. It's very close to Pavilion, Time Square, Sg Wang those KL city shopping mall. Just 2 to 3 minutes access to Monorail train, very easy to travel around to any other places. I very satisfied with their bathroom, it's big enough and very clean. The shampoo & body wash provided is also quite good quality with nice odour. Overall as a local people staying in KL, I'm 99% happy and satisfied with Sunbow. Another 1% missing is the hotel although is centrally located right opposite of Time Square, I can saw the building but take time for me to find the entrance to the lobby. But once you found the entrance, you will find it's so convenience access to the Monorail station & access to Bukit Bintang attraction! Lastly, don't judge the outlook of the hotel building, once you reach the 10th floor, you will be surprise!
On a little road off Jalan Bukit Bintang. Hotel is on the 10th floor of Sun Complex. Couple doors from Low Yat Plaza, the biggest IT mall in Malaysia. Rooms were cleaned everyday. Toiletries also provided daily. Beds very comfortable. This family suite got windows with grills. Scary that the grills were padlocked. One room with 1 queen bed and other with 3 twin beds. Also got two restrooms. However, there was no partition/shower curtains to separate the shower from the toilet. So be prepared for a wet restroom. Women should be careful in going in and out alone. As what my tour driver said, its the hotel where "they sell women". I guess because it is close to night life places. The hotel floor seems to be okey so maybe people "do their stuff" on other floors.
Very affordable price and very comfortable hotel”
I had 1 week at this hotel. This is a very good hotel which is very clean room and toilet, enough large to stay, good wifi, affordable price (32 usd, I booked via Agoda), especially very quiet. It seems you can not hear any noise when you stay here. Moreover, this hotel locates at the 10th level, in a central area (Bukit Bintang), very near many shopping malls and restaurants. I enjoyed the time here very much. I tried many restaurants around this hotel, particularly on Jalan Alor Off Bukit Bintang, I really like HOT POT (orgiginal Thai Cuisine) at 30 Jalan Alor, cheap price and very delicious. In summary, I really like this hotel, so I will recommend my friend to stay here and I will back if I have chance.
The Best Budget Hotel I've Ever Stayed”
The hotel lobby is located on a 10th floor of Sun Complex. The rooms are superbly clean. Beds are so comfortable to the point i dont feel like getting out of it in the morning. The room is spacious unlike most hotels in that area that are always small and crampy. Although there's a night club downstairs but somehow I dont hear noise. Which is a great thing. I was abit worried when i saw the night club. The hotel staff is friendly and efficient. Fast check in and fast check out. There's water dispenser nearby the reception counter. 32" LCD TV! Spacious and clean bathroom with water heater. Theres also hairdryer! not those kind that will take you hours to dry your hair. This is more powerful! I LIKE! Many power sockets! a definite PLUS! Location was pretty good. There's Low Yat nearby. Alor Street is about 5 minutes walk away. Changkat Bukit Bintang where all the night life is, is about 10 minutes away. Pavillion, Starhill and Fahrenheit is about 15mins away. Which is not very far when there's shopping centres along the way. To sum it all up, I will definitely come back here to stay again!
Comfortable stay with valuable for budget”
Worth for money; great room (good quality of bed and pillow), big toilet and seperate the shower zone, still in the good location.., just only 5 minutes walk to Imbi monorail station and 15-20 minutes walk to the centre of Bukit Bintang (shopping & nightlife arcade of Kuala Lumpur), close to Jalan Alor (the famous food street) where you could find a lot of local restaurant especially at night and possibly walk to Puduraya bus station & Chinatown also., just only about 20-30 minutes. Overall is good.
Centrally located in the shopping areas”
In regards with the room price, this is the best you could get in Bukit Bintang areas. they are cheap, up to standard and centrally located. At first it was a bit tricky to spot this hotel. it is at the corner of the surrounding building. Room is small but quite ok for short stay. No breakfast (of course, due to lowest fee they promote). bathroom is clean and towel also available. Overall will come back to this hotel again for the location and price wise. Great!
Great location, rooms and facility”
We stayed here for two nights. The hotel is located at bukit bintang and near imbi station. We got upgraded rooms because the rooms that we booked are full. The rooms are great, the tv, shower, ac are working perfectly. The location is great because it's near almost everywhere, food stalls, bars, shopping malls, etc. The only downside is there's only 2 elevators that can be used. when we stayed there, one is broken so we wait about 20 minutes to go up to the hotel.
Residency all abouts....”
The Sun Bow Residency is not only a hotel, it’s more like a bordello. You’ve got a good club downstairs, The Play, with house/progressive music and sexy dancers, and a very select lounge/spa on the ground floor, the Barhouse (forgot the name), with girls from countries as far as RPC,Viets, Myanmar or Russia coming to entertain the patrons. Entrance fee for the barhouse lounge is Rm 50.00, and no drinks included. Also a karaoke inside, very nice, with flat screen TV and audio equipment suitable for outdoor concerts. In the club the Play, they have a sort of live show with naked girls pretending to have sex, but you can only see the shadow... quite interesting... like fish bowl at Pink Lady Hatyai . Sun Bow will become famous place in Golden Triangle Bukit Bintang in future years. Be sure to check the 10th floor...
The profile picture is deceiving and one lift was broken. One would expect that the profile picture shows the hotel as seen from the street. Wrong. Its on the 10th floor. And the lift that goes up there was broken, so I had to take the one that went to floor 9 and walk up the last flight. That is the only two negative aspects of my stay. Otherwise, the room and hotel was pretty much as advertised. Staff were particularly helpful and friendly. Everything was fine. The closest monorail station is Imbi, but if you take it, you have to go North through Plaza Berjaya, down two floors to the parking lot and out the other side into a back lane, cross it and enter the building opposite through a small doorway, up the stairs and then you're in the lobby of the Sun Complex. Its really just two hundered metres at most, but a bit dodgy. Alternatively get off at Bukit Bintang, head for Low Yat Plaza, continue to the back of Federal hotel and a bit further, you'll find Sun Complex.
