Great Boutique Hotel close to the Riverfront”
i have stayed in a few hotels in phnom penh and this seems to be the one i keep going back to - it is in a quiet street (unlike street 136) and has a great convenience store 1 minute down the road. the rooms are new and clean, the bed it massive and comfortable and the dell pc is the best thing i have seen in a hotel room - the food downstairs is awesome (especially the cheeseburger and fries) and the staff are so nice. all in all, the sundance inn & saloon my favourite hotel in phnom penh.

Great modern hotel, fantastic location”
me and my partner stayed here a few nights and we wanted to book a few more however they were fully booked (we were disappointed but not surprised as place is great!). this place is new (they've opened it a few months ago), fresh, clean and modern and they don't charge fortune! we booked a room with "small extra king bed" which turned out to be the biggest and the most comfortable bed we were lucky to use while traveling in asia! there was a big flat screen tv with many channels (hbo) and free internet connection (no need to bring your laptop) in our room. safe, air conditioning and a fan and a little remote to switch main light off! bathroom was bright and clean, great shower, modern style sink, light by the mirror. swimming pool, pool table, bar and draught local beer served downstairs. friendly american owner and english speaking cambodian bar staff, even quiz in english on wednesday night and bar was full! fantastic location - national museum behind the corner, a short walk to royal palace and silver pagoda, close to riverside esplanade. many little restaurants on the same street as the hotel, lovely and cheap book shop next door, cheap phone calls to europe available form internet cafe on the same street (just $1 for 20minutes while other places charge the same money for just a few minutes) . minuses - if any problems with sleep you might need earplugs - noise from the bar downstairs and music coming from other places at night and housekeeping early in the morning however bed is so great that it should compensate it :) no breakfast as kitchen is not ready yet however there is a big choice of restaurants just next door to the hotel. swimming pool is small and just next to the bar but it worked well on hot days when we needed to cool down. no kettle in the room. we really enjoyed our stay in sundance inn, it made our trip to phnom penh even more pleasant and we highly recommend it.

"Unique comfortable clean and delightful place"”
wow! i was anticipating a nice place (based on reviews i had found online) but sundance exceeded my expectations by a mile. can't think of anything negative to say...(which is really unusual for me). cambodian staff and friendly western owners made my stay a delight. great local knowledge and advice combined with a stylish and thoughtful amenities will make sundance one of my favorite places to stay of all time ...anywhere. the restaurant was opening a day or so after my stay so no review from me but if it is half as good as the rest of the place it will be terrific. one caution! once word gets out rooms will be hard to get. enjoy the pool and surprisingly low prices, even for bargain city phnom penh.

Great hotel, great staff and local information”
This hotel was a gem! We stayed for 3 nights, 4 days and enjoyed our stay. The pub/restaurant has a great atmosphere in the evening and has very welcoming and informative staff. Bartender Rory was very helpful in asking local expats for information for us regarding renting a larger motorbike and giving information about the city. The atmosphere is so friendly and were very impressed with the expats of Phnom Penh who welcomed us and shared drinks while we compared life in Cambodia to life in Vietnam (where we call home). The room was clean and spacious. The food was hearty and portions are generous. We will definitely stay here the next time we visit Phnom Penh. Many thanks to the Sundance team.

Great Boutique Hotel”
i love staying at the sundance saloon. harry (the owner) is a great guy and always has no problems opening my safe (which i seem to lock more than often). the rooms are a great size and the bed is very comfortable. the dell pc in the room is very handy and allows you to check email and also watch videos and browse your photos. all in all a great hotel in the centre of phnom penh.

Great value!”
we originally only planned on staying here only 2 nights, but extended it to 3 because we really like the hotel and the area where we were staying. the hotel is on top of a bar, which we found very convenient as it was nice to have a place to grab a cold beer before heading up to our room. the noise from the bar at night was minimal, but we were on the 3rd floor, so it could be worse if your room is on the 2nd floor. the room itself was great for the price. nice king-sized bed with a good amount of space in the room, including a soft comfy chair and coffee table, and mini fridge. there was also a pc in the room where you could surf the internet on the large flatscreen tv. bathroom was clean and modern, with a nice shower. there is also a small, but nice pool in the back of the hotel which i believe is quite rare in phnom penh. the staff was very friendly and helpful. they even did all our laundry (about 5kg worth) for free. overall, i would totally recommend the sundance inn for any future travelers to phnom penh if you are looking for a nice, convenient place to stay on a budget. the value for what your paying is phnomenal:)

Great hotel and friendly hotel”
I found the sundance inn was a very high standard hotel for its price. I would happily pay at least $50 for a nights stay there as the fixtures and fittings in the rooms we're top quality. The owners we're really helpful as we're the tour operators. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone going to phnom penh

So good I came back for another 8 nights”
I think I said it all in a previous review, this place ticked all the boxes for me and I had no hesitations coming back for another stay and will definitely return for future stays. I'm not big on large hotels but wanted a pool and the location for me was perfect, this was my 9th visit to Phnom Penh and I'm happy I've found this place for my future stays. Within a few minutes walk you're at the Riverfront, National Museum, Royal Palace and plenty of great restaurant, cafes, bars. After staying on the riverfornt before the noise was getting to me, the Sundance is close enough to get to where you want but in a quiet enough spot to afford you a good nights sleep. Again, Harry and Buster thank you and I hope to see you again soon.

New hotel in a great location!”
sundance inn & saloon is a great place to stay while in phnom penh. the location is quite desirable, it's close to the riverside (but not too close), the national museum, great restaurants, and is in a good location to take a stroll in the evenings. it's on a quiet street that is quite bustling so there's lots to take advantage of. also, all the rooms have new flat screen tv's with internet! highly recommended.

surprisingly nice”
despite reception being the bar downstairs and a bit of faffing about with check-in, we were really pleased with the hotel. the swimming pool is a godsend on a hot phnom penh day. the hotel is very conveniently located close to the waterfront around lots of restaurants, although phnom penh streets are not the nicest on the planet. the room itself was lovely - best shower i had in a while and with a proper shower area in the bathroom (not just a shower head somewhere above the sink). internet in room was a nice touch and the bed was very comfortable. everything was clean and the room (on the top floor) didn't suffer too badly with noise from the bar down below. the centre of phnom penh itself is not the loveliest place on the planet, but if you are going to be there and want to spend a bit but not too much, i thought the sundance was a good place to be.

great city meeting point”
great place, the owner is a top bloke and will help you with local knowledge. if your in pnom penh for a few days, sundance resident tuk tuk driver or ask for panni at the bar, can show you around town and will look after all your needs,,,and at a fair rate. sundance is defineately the way to start your introduction into phnom penh city lifestyle and a place you tend to gyrate back to, on return trips. xlent place, great gang.

Very clean hotel and friendly service”
we stayed in phnom penh for two nights and had a great stay at sundance. highly recommended hotel- the staff was friendly and helpful, the rooms were impeccably clean, and the pool looked amazing, though we didn't get a chance to actually use it. the area is perfect for exploring by foot, but everything in town is accessible by moto or tuk tuk, plenty of which were passing along the street in front. we will definitely stay here again!

Trendy and modern”
The Sundance is located in a great area of Phnom Penh, a short walk from the waterfront. It is surrounded by lots of good cafes, mostly catering for the budget traveller. This is useful as there is no catering at the Sundance itself. The accommodation has been recently refurbished to a high standard and is immaculately clean. The internet connection is one of the best we have experienced in SE Asia and can be accessed from the new flat-screen telly. Very impressive. There is a busy bar on the ground floor as well as a travel agent and good advise was available from both. This is not the place to stay with a young family as there is a fair amount of noise until the early hours. Haaving said that, we enjoyed the experience as a retired couple. We would certainly stay again.

Great room. Great Western food. Friendly service.”
Great stay! When I arrived, the electricity was out all throughout the Riverfront district. Just one of those things... The owner, Harry, still checked me in, and got me situated. During the power outage, Harry and his staff still managed to cook (gas and a head lamp) and serve drinks. Impressive service and a great adaptability to the adversity. When in Phnom Penh, I will surely book at the Sundance again!

Great Hotel, Great Location & Good People”
This was my first time in PP Cambodia so I must admit I did not have much to compare the Sundance to, however compared to hotels in Thailand which I am very experienced the value for money of the Sundance is fantastic. The local staff and Harry (The Boss) were very friendly. Harry is a real character and evenings spent around the bar with him were always a hoot. He really is a great host and is very friendly, informative & pours the strongest drinks in town! The rooms were of standard size considering the price range but really done up nice. The bathrooms finished very nicely and the Wifi around the hotel is consistant and for free! The pool was small but as the hotel is not a large hotel it was never crowded at all with only 1 group of guests using it at a time. The American items on the menu were superb I recommend the (egg burger & burgers). The hotel has a resident Tuk Tuk who did a great job. He was a touch more expensive if I had hired one in the street but the trade off was the hotel tuk tuk spoke great english, was very punctual and other trips (excluding palace, fields, etc.) were fair. Overall this was the best hotel experience I've had in Asia and I will be back for sure.

Great place to stay, position, pool & great hosts”
i really enjoyed my stay here, for the price it offers great value for money. it's a few minutes walking distance to the royal palace, national museum, riverfront precinct and plenty of great places to eat and drink. the service i received was great and the operators harry and buster were always helpful and offered great advice to help better my trip. i was mainly drawn here by the pool as i have travelled to phnom penh many times, it is lovely to take a dip for a fresh start to the day or when returning from a day out in the heat although the pool could be considered small it suited my needs perfectly and i was the only one using it most times. they have a kitchen that offers nice food if you don't feel taking the short stroll to many close restaurants and a bar with pool table. i met some really interesting local folks that had some great stories and advice, also there is an open mic and trivia night weekly, it's a friendly spot were you meet some cool people. i had a room on the top floor and did not suffer from any noise issues either from the street or the bar downstairs (this had been a annoyance for me after staying down on the riverfront a few times). all in all i would thoroughly recommend staying here.

AOK Budget plus pool ”
The Sundance Guesthouse is a great budget dig in Phnom Penh. The staff and customers helpful and friendly. Close enough to the river and other social adventures. Pool is a plus and enjoyed by those that count +++. Everything's a buck in Phnom Penh so bring a pocket full and hand them out.

Absolutely a lovely inn”
The owner is extremely helpful during our stay. We spent only one night in Penom Penh, and we chose this little inn after comparing more than twenty similiar places on Agoda. I dare say it's value for money. The room basically has everything inside (a computer with wireless keyboard and mouse is definitely a surprise).Clearly he knows what travellers need, and the consideration makes both me and my friend extremely satisfied. When we ask for the hair dryer, Harry just showed up within minutes by himself and later when we needed to know how the safe works, he came all the way up and taught us. We just love sundance and we sincerely recommend this place. It seems that Harry has a lot of stories to tell (he moved here from Texas), but we had only stayed for one night. Pity.

Great hotel, great owners and great location”
The king size bed is enormous and really comfortable. The room was spotless and the shower in the bathroom really good. Having the internet available through the 32 inch plasma tv was always really good. Location of the hotel on 172 Street is excellent, lots of restaurants immediately around it. 5 minutes walk away in one direction and you are at the likes of the riverside, National Museum and Royal Palace. 5 minutes walk the other way and you are at the nightlife around 51 Street (Walkabout, Pontoon etc). The bar in the hotel was excellent and a great place to talk to other people, including the owners Buster and Harry, who are great guys. It is also quite cheap. They did serve food, but I never ate there so cannot comment on it personally, although others said the food was excellent, but there are lots of restaurants in the immediate area anyway. The pool is great for cooling off after a day in the Phnom Penh heat. All in all, a great place to stay that I wouldn't hesitate in booking for my next trip to the city.
