Necessary hygiene and cleanliness in the room”
The room was dirty, all the bedding dirty, the filthy pillows full of black stains, a shame of a hotel, it should be closed by the health authorities, reproved in everything

Great location but small rooms”
Last month, we bring our two children to Langkawi and stay at Sunderland Motel. We very surprise that we can check in at 11am although the hotel policy stated check in time is 2pm. The staffs are friendly. Although the room is small, but the facility we need all are there. We also surprise that the hotel provide a Coway brand water dispenser. This is very convenience for those parents got bring small kids along to travel.

we stay 2 night within our 10 days stay in Langkawi and this motel was one of our best experience , the location is great , stuff were friendly and helpful , room very clean but a bit small for 3 of us although we booked a triple room . u can easy access to everything the only thing negative point was internet speed .... very poor WIFI but overall i defiantly recommend it n will stay here again in my next trip

We were very happy with Sunderland motel because the room, lobby and hallways were all very clean. Even thought the room was clean, there were very small ants in the bathroom. I hate insects, but somehow the ants didnt bother me.

Even at cheaper rate, the room fulfills our needs. Since we are spending most of the time visiting places of interest in Langkawi, this room in Sunderland is more than enough to allow us to have a good rest at night. Equipped with facilities such as air-conditioner, water heater and flat screen TV, as well as abundance of restaurants nearby, we can say that this motel room is worthy. However, the motel receptionist should improve herself in dealing with customers. She should be more friendly and smile more.

Friendly and quiet”
It's so good with central position, night market is front of the hotel. The room is rather clear and quiet. Staff is so friendly with full helpness. You can walk around the island and have everything within 2 km from the hotel. The price is reasonable. Totally Sunderland is remarkable choice when come Langkawi.

Good Hotel With No Windows”
Good Hotel. Strategically located at the heart of Kuah town in the midst of Duty Free shopping centres. Restaurants and shops abound within walking distance. Two Chinese restaurants on opposite ends of the Motel. Stayed 2 nights. No house keeping. You take care of everything. Room has no windows. Room and bathroom clean. Hot water in the bathroom. Air condition working order - good. No breakfast. Drinking water - hot and cold dispenser at the entrance floor. TV in the room but not able to switch on the decoder. Staff friendly and helpful. Great location but hard rock mattress”
located in the heart of Kuah, very convenient since the Pasar Malam is just on the opposite side of the motel. Had no problem finding the motel. Room space is ok for 2 adult n a baby.. :) . However, the mattress is so not comfortable. Other than that, great motel.. no complaint. :)

Great location but not that comfy”
Well i booked this motel based on the reviews and ratings given. The great thing about the motel is it's location which is at the center of Kuah town. There are banks nearby if you needed to withdraw some money and all the duty-free stores are within walking distance. The cabbies are also close by the motel so you won't have any problems with transportation. My main complaint is more related to comfort level. The mattress was just too hard even though they looked new. Not recommended if you're having back problems. The aircond wasn't that cool as well during the day (humidity here is quite high). It's ok for budget travellers but for couples & families i'd recommend some other hotel like the HIG hotel maybe.

Strategic place for shopping”
Pros: Stragic place for shopping and its near to pasar malam too. Staff are very friendly and helpful.Price is very reasonable for the budget motel. Cons: Cleanliness must be upgraded. Overall i will recommended this motel to the traveller that in low budget.

clean city hotel (not near beaches)”
The hotel is conveniently located in the center of Kuah. That said, I wouldn't recommend staying in the city unless your're only on Langkawi for shopping or use this as a stopover before/after catching a ferry. The city is not nice, there are no nice beaches in the area and there's really not much to do. The nice parts of Langkawi are half an hour or so away (there's only Taxi as transportation on Langkawi). Apart from that, the stay was ok for the money - room and bathroom were small but clean. TV has about 2 working channels. Wifi Internet slow but worked. Staff tried to be helpful but weren't very knowledgeable - they didn't know where to find a post mailbox which ended up being just down the road and then to the right, and I specifically asked if I could find a Taxi before 7am because I had to catch an early boat to Koh Lipe in Thailand, they told me there will be some on the street or they will call for one, but of course in the morning there were no taxis anywhere, and the guy who was at the reception in the morning didn't have any number to call one.. waited 30 minutes in the streets for one and almost missed my boat).

Although the room is pretty small, yet my family and I really enjoyed our stay here. If you seek a quiet place to stay, of course this hotel is not the one. However this hotel is highly recommended to those who passionate searching for food and shopping places at the heart of Langkawi just by your feet!

Comfortable, clean, and quiet”
Stayed at the Triple room during Christmas eve. Pros - Clean and large room - Comfortable beds with soft pillows - Nice and quiet environment, countryside with chickens and buffalo to greet you in the morning - Location is 3 minutes drive to Cenang beach - Value for money Cons - Hard to find the motel, the signboard on the road is too small to notice, we had to drive on the road a few times to spot the signboard - Toilet could be improve, the smell of the sinkhole was very bad All in all, good stay and recommended. -
