Sunlight Eco Tourism Island Resort
Just wow... i am looking back at my photos and cannot quite believe if this was real life or not. We stayed for 3 nights and it was just amazing start to our Philippines adventure. Pool and private beaches - just perfect Staff were the best! so lovely i made friends with a few. Atmosphere so peaceful and homely Carts to drive you around - nice perk Room was beautiful - cluster villa. The deck on the water was so dreamy watching the sunride was the BEST. EXCEPT Food :( Choices were very disappointing. Same small menu for lunch and dinner and every location was the same menu... we splurged for the buffet 1200 per person on the last night but was not worth it - we were just sick of all the alacarte options after 3 days. That is the one reason we were glad to move on location after 3 nights. Everything else, amazing, and thank you!
Great island but not a top resort”
It is really a beautiful place to stay. People who love snorkeling will enjoy their time at the island. We enjoyed a lot that the island was not really busy and we hardly saw any other hotel guests. The rooms are nice but you can see they have been there for some years. The staff was very friendly even though you might expect more from a resort when it comes to the restaurant. The food was ok but not more and we unfortunately had to wait 45min-1hour to get our food even though the place was not busy. What was most unfortunate was the very expensive travel to and from the island. We ended up almost paying the same amount for the transport as for the stay for one night. These are somehow hidden costs and is not really a good way. Overall, the location is really great but the resort could improve a little to keep up with the location.
Resort was great and the private island is beautiful. All facilities were excellent and especially the view in the morning from the room magnificent. Restaurant staff are very friendly, but could receive a little more guidance/training.
Overpriced for the Area”
While the resort boast of exceptional resort views and style the price is not worth it . Food was literally one of the worst you could ever have . The cocktails were poorly constructed and pale in comparison to their other inland hotel brand. The staff were exceptionally great. However, for the price they command, you're better off going to four seasons, ritz of other exclusive resorts as this is a complete WASTE of money. Thankfully, the staff made our stay easy. They even charge for the smallest of things. TIP: if one decides to stay I this hotel, buy your personal stuff, water supply and other ablutions prior to going to the resort as it will cost you to take a ride back and forth from mainland if you decide to buy some stuff for personal use.
a little bit expensive because of their hidden charges. the transport is also expensive. but the place is great and very nice ambiance.
5 stars ”
The island is amazing! The staff were extremely polite and accommodating. CK of the front desk u’r d best. The resort manager is awesome. He upgraded us to honeymoon villa. Overall we had wonderful stay .
It is definitely NOT AN ECO RESORT! they have lots of aircondition (also outside), useing lots of plastic, jet ski to rent, building a heliport and a golf course... we had a studio villa which was very nice located and furnished. food was ok but they played loud live music during the dinner time. they cleaned the beaches from plastic but unfortunately they didn't clean the sea around the houses.
Very nice stay when you’re looking for a decent and luxurious place in the Philippines”
The only thing I can suggest is some more service at the swimmingpool, they don’t come and ask for a drink, you have to go to the bar to order. But this is not a complaint, the island is absolutely worth visiting and it’s worth every cent. When you want to escape from the big cities and want some western luxurious, combined with a Philippine island, go here!
There’s a lot more going on in this resort. One day is not going to be enough to tour and enjoy the place. I will definitely come back there. Staff were very friendly and nice.
Great place to relax with family. Food tastes good. A lot of activities. Staffs were super nice!
If you are visiting Coron this resort is a must place to visit or stay at if you need to relax. The private island is peaceful & exclusive. They have some free beach activities and jet ski. Cafe has a wide variety of choices of delicious meals or enjoy the buffet (it’s a little pricy) lots to choose from. I also enjoyed the departure service from Coron to the welcome entrance to Culion. Villa’s and the views from the balcony is amazing. I would highly highly recommend this resort if you need a getaway.
Staff was amazing!!!
Careful with promo price. ”
Before you book, call about the island transfer, the meal inclusion and room occupancy. Else, you'll be another surprise figure. Booked the cluster villla for 2 adult couple with 1 child. Charged 7k php per night for the child. Full board meals, extra bed and boat transfer for that. Much costly than the actual room. It wasnt written anywhere in the listing. Was charged for another 4k php(2 person) for boat transfer from coron to the island. Buffet lunch and dinner cost another extra 2k php per person. Not worthy and with limited choices, we had to settle for ala carte order, of which also has limited choices. So theres a lot of hidden charges there.. Wifi and phone broke on our last day. Stung by box jellyfish just close to the beach. So be careful with that too. The good.: The place is quite, nice and serene. If you need to relax and enjoy the scene, this is the place. Not crowded. The environment are picture worthy. Fast internet and HD Satelite TV. Staff are very courteous.
A great place to holiday and relax”
Great friendly staff and 100% will return soon
The location was beautiful what upset me the most was the food was poor and don’t count on any Inte”
If you like snorkeling it’s a beautiful place I was disappointed with the food and some of their nickel and dime charges
Amazing experience with great hospitality from the staff.. perfect getaway vacation”
Serene and peaceful. Staff was soo accomodating
Amazing resort. We went at the beginning of March and pretty much had the place to ourselves. Great staff, stunning environment. It did leave me thinking what it takes to have eco in the name tho... Thank you for a great stay!
We just finished our 7 day stay at this resort. We have been traveling all over Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia and this resort is tops for customer service and environmental beauty. As a matter of fact we think this is the best resort we’ve been to in the Philippines. Not everything may run smoothly all of the time like WIFI or water pressure but all you need to do is let the staff know of any needs or wants and they do all they can to accommodate. Margaret at the front office particularly is a gem but Craig the resort manager is also fantastic. In general all of the staff here is very friendly and helpful and simply amazing. The breakfast buffet is adequate and the dinner buffet is good - although as a Vegan I missed more choice on Vegetable dishes. However, once again the staff accommodated for my diet ❤️ The pool is fantastic for swimming and the beach and water are pristine. We highly recommend having massages with either of the two Agnes’s at the Spa. They both are amazing.
A very luxury expensive resort with very nice view but definitely not eco-friendly...”
It is a resort perfect for people who just wanna stay inside the resort and enjoy the facilities. But honestly, for the sake of local nature environment, please think twice before you go... Heard that the white sand was stolen from other islands, and that the resort was forced to shut down for 2 years because it destroyed too much of the local nature.... It's like a huge artificial hotel built in a place which is already a paradise.. totally unnecessary.. Good service because they are way too many staff members working here.. including construction workers.. food is quite expensive but not tasty... Definitely not for nature lovers, divers, snorkelers.
Worst service from the reception
