Nice B&B stay experience ”
it's a good stay for one night, owner is friendly, they introduced us how to explore around sun moon lake , and also offered us discount price for ferry ticket and bike rental, in addition, the lady owner also advised us on the next day bus schedule for travelling to next destination, she is very helpful.

The room was clean and confortable. Shinshu is a small village, so even if the Hotel ois a bit less in midtown than some others, it was really close to the pier and all shops. The staff of this small family business was very kind and helpful to me, to find places or buses. The only thing is that you have to come back before 9:30 because they close the door then but all the shops and restaurants close quite early so it was not a problem ! the room was not to expensive, especially when you travel alone, but i think than you also can go to sun moon lake with no accommodation and find directly there a room, there are many hotels. I write it down here because i didn't know i could do that. Anyway, i had a nice stay !

Nothing serious. The owner family was very friendly. I was upgraded to a better room toward the end of my stay. The location was perfect (near everything about Sun Moon Lake). All in al, a great stay!

For the brief time we spent in the hotel while at Sun Moon Lake it was more than adequate.

This is an okay place to stay. The village where you can stay to make a boattrip over the Sun moon lake isn't very big. This place is close to the little main street. The bed and the bathroom were clean, but the dust was sticking on the walls.. Also this Bed and Breakfast doesn't have breakfast (but I don't think all the other B&B's around Sun moon lake do..)
Devastating Arrogant/Horrible Male Receptionist/Owner (whatever his position is)”
Never in my entire travel life have I ever been greeted with such arrogance. This GUY whoever he is, just started my Taiwan trip with a fright. I booked 3 hotels in different 3 different areas of my itinerary and Sunmoon starlight B&B is the first stop. I booked this hotel knowing that it is the only 1 having the availability of 4 pax room for me, my husband, my younger sister and brother in-law. My trip is supposed to be for 3 couples but my older sister weren't sure they could make it. To cut the story short, they made it! So now, we are 6 people in all. So early morning at 8:00 we traveled from Hsinchu (younger sister place) where we stopped over for the night after we landed in Taoyuan, took the HSR, taxi, then reached the B&B around noon and thinking to drop our bags so we could proceed to our itinerary for the day. Then this guy "entertained" us. My bro in-law showed him the voucher, then looked at us (6 people) the straightly said, "voucher says 4 people only. 6 people won't do because extra people will consume electricity, water and blablabla" (they were talking in Chinese. Only me and my hubby don't speak and understand Chinese) so my bro in-law told him that we will pay extra for the 2 people (we would only be sleeping for few hours anyway because we will be moving to yunlin the next morning at 7am) but he said "cannot, you have to Faster look for a hotel for the 2 people to stay in.. Peak season blablabla.." then again, my bro asked "what if we can't find 1" (like he said, peak season) but then he cannot give an answer. And the way he talks and his facial expression is just so in an arrogant manner. So, we didn't ask again, we straightly went out and looked for a room which we didn't need to look very far because around the area are hotels. And yes, we booked the room on the first hotel we dropped by which gave us a very warm welcome (thanks to them, it eases my mind on thinking about going home to Singapore) and introduced us to cruise offers and gave u

Mr Dai and his wife and 2 kids were very friendly host. They made us feel welcome and introduce local delights and places around Sun Moon Lake.
Nice short stay”
Hotel is difficult to find. It took us long time walking to actually find it. When we entered there was no one on reception, we had to wait about 15 minutes. Enterance looks a bit shabby, as on ground floor the couple is living but the rooms and rest of the place is very clean. Staff was attentive and very helpful later on that day, she guided us well on what to see and how to travel in the area.

To sum it all up. It's a wonderful place to stay. Beautifully decorated room. Old on the outside but definitely new and classy in the inside, especially the room. Took a picture with the owner. She's damn gorgeous!!
Snug and peaceful Sleepover spot”
Gd spot to rest or sleep over. Its at the edge of the noisy pier, yet accessible to the food locations. The owners also live at the ground level so an added level of safety. Rooms ate snug n tight but I'm small built and travel light so it suits me. Despite the size, shower is stocked with basics (towel n all), even with a fridge n tv n v fast WiFi. Very very helpful, informed owners. There's no windows to e rm but not that stuffy. Steep stairs so old folks or those with kids just take it slow.

Good, spacious room with a comfortable bed. Everything felt clean and new. No sign so a bit hard to find but Brenda was a joy and she helped make our visit great!

Had some issues with the Wifi connection, the lady boss has been very helpful in trying to resolve the issue. They also actively provide useful imformation to us to ensure that we have a smooth transit to taipei. The water piping noise in the room needs to be improved though.
