We also booked the standard room on our 1st day and deluxe room for the following days and to our surprise, the receptionist upgraded our room to all ...

The perfect place for some much needed R&R!”
We booked Sunny Beach Resort (previously known as Puerto Galera Beach Club. It has since been renamed after new management has taken over) for our 3-day stay in Puerto Galera, Mindoro. The place was superb! The ride going to the place was a bit rocky and steep, but the ambiance of the resort and the beach in front of it was worth every bump. I highly recommend that you book either the Amihan or Habagat room (we stayed in Amihan) because the balcony served as a good place for lounging – the beach view was just a cherry on top. The only concern I have with the room is the lack of accessible electric outlets, which was rather cumbersome. Charging our gadgets became a chore. I suggest that you either bring along some long extension cords with you, because we're not sure if the front desk could provide any (although we never tried to ask). The resort is strategically located right about in the middle of Talipanan Beach, which is the farthest one among the known Puerto Galera shores. Don't expect much of a night life here! The establishments (even the resort's own bar and restaurant) close early, right around 8:30 or 9:00 PM. You could stay in the bar's vicinity beyond that time, though I wouldn't really recommend going overboard since the staff waits around for you – and that implies that they're going to go beyond their working hours. The resort is perfect for a quiet and serene experience. You could opt to go to White Beach through a tricycle, or you could arrange a ride with the front desk. I'd still recommend that you stay here even if you want to experience Puerto Galera's nightlife because I doubt you'd be getting any good sleep if you choose to stay along White Beach's lodgings. The resort has two kayak paddle boats which are free of use for the guests. Life vests are included. There was an adequate amount of sun loungers, not including their swinging bed (it's literally a bed-swing) and their curtain-ladden wooden beds. Like I said, perfect for rest and relax
Love every bit of it!”
We originally want a hotel in Aninuan Beach because we are after the sunset view. However, all rooms that are within our budget is fully booked. We decided to check hotels in Talipanan and PGBC (now, Sunny Beach Resort) is by far the best, based on reviews. We booked through Agoda because the beach front room we want is discounted (Amihan Room). We did not regret it at all. We were greated warmly as soon as we reached the resort. We were there at 9am (yes, we were so early) and we're told that the room will be available at 1pm, which is the check in time. They were happy to keep our luggage so we can tour around and get something to eat. When they ushered to our room, Oh boy, what a perfect room it was. The view of the beach from the room is stunning!! We could just stay there and never leave. Staff are all friendly, they're courteous and they do know how to entertain guests. They also love our 15 month old baby that's why our baby also enjoyed our stay. On our last night, they set a romantic dinner for us (since it was also our 5th year wedding anniversary). Oh my, the food was just so delicious!! from the appetizer to the desert, oh it was heaven! They served, Seafood Chowder for the soup, Mango Salad for the appetizer, Fillet Mignon Steak for the main course (which was cooked to perfection), and Mango Flambé for dessert. The dinner also comes with a bottle of red wine. We love our stay so much that we recommend everyone planning to go to PG to stay at PGBC.
Perfect Beachfront Lounge Area”
Puerto Galera Beach Club is recently under new management (probably new ownership too) and its new name is Sunny Beach Resort. Situated in Puerto Galera's quiet Talipanan Beach, away from the crowds of Puerto Galera's White Beach. Their lounge deck and its comfy couches are a winner - perfect for lazing the hours away, for couples and small groups. The menu at their resto Baby Elephant may seem a little pricey, but the portions are generous. The swimming pool is actually small at the rear of the property - probably a dive instruction pool built by the previous owner.
Quiet and Friendly Staff”
PGBC is located at Talipanan area of Puerto Galera. We like its serene location and excellent breakfast. They also have unlimited drinking water supply and tye room is big with clean CR. Tye bathroom has a hot and cold shower. I love how friendly the staff were and they provide everything we need even calling a tricycle for us when we want to go to White Beach. My only point for improvement is the route going to Aninuan area and White Beach since its too far. Maybe they can provide free 2 services back and forth from Talipanan to Aninuan and to White beach as Add-ons ti ensure customer satisfaction.
To whom it might concern, There are many positive things staying in Sunny Beach Resort. Firstly, the ambiance of the resort offers some sophistication. For instance, the entrance of the said accommodation will definitely makes their clients feel that they are in foreign countries. Moreover, the receptionists are very helpful just ask questions and they will assist their customers quickly. Lastly, the accommodation has their own resto-bar, which runs 24/7. Although there are numerous advantages staying in Sunny Beach Resort, the customers must anticipate that the road going in that resort is not yet fully developed. Furthermore, it is best for Sunny Beach Resort to have hi-speed internet connection, which could be beneficial for many business travelers. All in all, despite the two opportunities for improvement for Sunny Beach Resort, it is guaranteed that tourists will enjoy their stay in the aforesaid resort.
Relaxing Place to Stay”
We used to book hotels near whitebeach and it’s our first time to book in Aninuan; I would say I enjoyed it solemnity. Since we traveled by car, it was kinda challenging for the car due to underconstruction road, the way was kinda steepy. We arrive earlier at the resort and the receptionist was very accommodating and allow us to check in earlier. The room was very neat and I love the concept of the white pillows and linens. The whole place was relaxing and very good for picture taking and resting. Though the beach shore was kinda stony, the water was clear. There’s also a pool that we enjoyed whenever the heat of the sun was at its finest. The free breakfast was all ok. For me this travel is very affordable. Thanks sunny beach resort!
the place to relax”
we usually go to white beach but this time wanted to try nearby coves. puerto galera beach club (now renamed sunny beach resort) is very peaceful and relaxing. it does not have the night life of white beach tho the "drumbeats" from white beach can still be heard in the quiet of the night. we were lucky to get the "habagat" room with the perfect ocean view; but even if you had a back room, there are adequate places in the front of the hotel where you can lounge and enjoy the ocean view. the only disappointment was their tiny swimming pool (more a kiddie pool really) which was rather murky. but we went there for the beach so everything was fine.
Quiet Place to stay”
If you want something away from the crowded and noisey White Beach, this place is for you. True it is really an Instagramable Resort in Puerto Galera. Was just disappointed that they no longer have their swing bed (got broken from the recent typhoon) The prices is just your normal resort hotel food and its yummy and has a home cook taste and their servings are big. The beach is ok and waves are fit for surfing. We also enjoyed their mini pool. They offer shuttle service going to white beach if you want to buy soviners and party. We actually enjoyed our peaceful stay here. Regarding the room we stayed in, it was a bit hot. I think the a/c was not enough to keep the whole room cold.. but they have a fan installed in the room, to regulate the cool air around the room.
Quiet windy beach hotel with great staff”
We really enjoyed our time at Puerto Galera Beach Club. It was just what we were looking for--a quiet hotel right on the beach. We were in one of the rooms with a beach view. We opened the balcony doors and could hear the waves crash. We preferred this small, but rather windy beach over White Beach because we wanted the peace and quiet. During the week days, it was just that. During the weekend, the beach got a little busier. The food in the restaurant was really good, but it took a long time for it to come. I think there was only one chef. That chef was fantastic, though. The restaurant staff was also great, but there were only two people. This made it very difficult when the resort filled to it's 55 capacity for those two very hard working staff to help everyone for breakfast. We could walk to a waterfall with the help of a guide and were able to visit the mangyang village on the way to the waterfall to see them weave handicrafts. Getting to another beach required taking a trike, walking/swimming along the beach, or walking steep hills on the road.
You can never go wrong with Sunny Beach Resort! ”
Sunny Beach was like a home for me in my 4D3N stay. The place may be far from the town proper but it was worth it. The price is not expensive for the ambiance and the hotel environment. As well as the food they serve, it was delicious and worth the price. There also is a sari-sari store nearby. The room was clean enough. The staff were very hospitable, most specially those who are in the restaurant. They really welcome all their guests warmly, foreign or local. A good accommodation is one of the most important things to consider when you go out of town and Sunny Beach Resort will never ruin your vacation. I’ll prolly come back here. It’s been a pleasure!
Enjoyed our beachbumming experience here in Sunny Beach Resort! The location was just a bit off but if you want to stay in the peaceful side of Puerto Galera, then they are perfect. Sad thing that disappointed us though, was their restobar. We were not informed that it will only be open till 9pm. We expected it to be open a tad bit later since they have a bar. The only thing that saved us from hunger that night was the canned tuna paella I brought. Better option for this is to schedule your food and drinks with them once you arrive. A good suggestion also would be an available broom by the corridors to borrow so sweeping sand out from rooms would be easier. And improvement of the lighting and heat in the pool. Other than what I've mentioned, it was truly worth it a stay. The staff would attend to you well. Facilities are good (the pool is a bit small though, and can be really cold in the evening). Food is really good too. And of course, enjoy the beach and the beachbumming!
One of the few resorts in Puerto Galera with good value for money. Sunny beach resort is located away from the white beach noise. Perfect for those who are looking for a quiet day and night at the beach. There's not much vendors too compared to white beach Hobbit Room was just alright, its clean and presentable. In house restaurant, a but pricy but you'll be surprised for their generous servings which made the value of the dish worth it. Free breakfast has options to choose from. Beach front, nice ambience they have some gazebos and sun bathing chairs to hang out with. Beach, clearer water than white beach but a bit rocky (doesn't hurt, it's tolerable) Faciloties, overall stay was ok until by the time we were checking out, there was no water in the bathroom. We waited for 2hours and the water is just few drops from the faucet. Ended up not having a full bath after beaching and going back to Manila. I hope they address this problem it's not convenient not having water on the toilets.
The room is very clean and spacious with great design! The free breakfast is delicious! The front desk named marie is so friendly and kind! If there's a chance to go back here in puerto galera, I will check in back again here in sunny beach!
the friendliest receptionist we have ever met”
We just wanted to escape Manila and we could have not imagine a better place than staying at Tilapanan Beach at Puerto Galera Beach Club. We were friendly welcomed and the location right at the beach is awesome. The nice lady at the reception was so helpful, in cases of accomodation, transportation,...she made us feel comfortable the whole time and always tried to find the best solution for us. Maraming salamat po! For a weekend a perfect stay if you are not expecting luxury rooms but a nice, clean and modern room. We would always come back!
Despite the typhoon, the staff was awesome!”
The threat of a very wet vacation was just around the corner when we arrived at the Batangas Pier. But Marie, on the phone assured us that they will do all their best to make our stay enjoyable. The ferry ride to Puerto Galera was the roughest we had taken, but luckily the seas calmed when we were nearing Sabang. After another 10 mins ferry to Muelle and another 10 mins on shuttle van to Sunny Beach, it was a relief to see a beautiful place! There was no hassle in our check in. Marie immediately ushered us to our room and saw to it that we were all fine. They arranged our Island Hopping tour the following day. They provided us with all information and even went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. The staff is great! The boatmen of our Island Hopping tour were all also the best who are also good cooks! Buy some fresh squid and let them take care of the rest. The bad weather has not dampened our short vacation. Thanks to you, Sunny Beach Resort. We will back soon!
If you need to relax and enjoy and have peace of mind. Visit Puerto Galera Beach Club (Sunny Beach Resort ). Staff are very nice & the receptionist Marie very accommodating..I'm planning to return on October with family & friends. Thanks to you guys! :)
Loved our stay with Sunny Beach Hotel. The hotel was amazing. Upon arriving we were welcomed with the lovely furnitures and interior of the hotel. The booking also came with a welcome drink. I loved their towels, it was not the cheap kind the hotels would use it was soft and fluffy. The room was great, it was clean and somehow modern, the TV had local and cable channels. The bathroom was kinda small but it was okay. The free breakfast tasted good. I chose to eat the Filipino corned beef breakfast. I love that it came with 2 eggs and a fruit. The restaurant itself also has a lot of food to choose from. Try their pancit and their sinigang. The current owners were also kind, especially their staffs. Kudos to Sunny Beach Hotel. Will definitely come back. :) :) :)
Team Building Venue”
It was my first time to stay in Talampan and this resort (Puerto Galera Beach Club) made me enjoy it super even if it was just an overnight stay. The STAFF are really accommodating and nice. We enjoyed our stay so much that I already reserved rooms to accommodate my family; we plan to go back after a month.
We had a wonderful family vacation at Sunny Beach Resort!”
Thank you to all the staff of the resort. Miss Marie was very accommodating and funny. Ate Cecil was friendly and served food with a smile. My favorite is Ate Lory who provided exemplary service and even made hanging out in the bar entertaining. She was kind, funny and helpful, too. Our room was clean and the AC was working properly. The pool was also clean during our stay and the food was great! We'll surely go back there on our next Puerto Galera trip.
COOL, PEACEFUL, AND BEAUTIFUL BEACH”
Our stay at Puerto Galera Beach Club was refreshing! The front beach has an amazing quiet view and crystal clear water. We feel as if we're home during breakfast lunch, and dinner. We were able to do many different exciting activites. The staff namely KC, Cecille and Earl are very approachable...and we are looking forward to return to this place in the future.... this is one of our best summer escapades!
