“Safety concern”
I'm a solo traveller and I'm used to staying at a budget hotel like this. Especially in Penang. However, there are several issue that can be rectified to make it better. 1. I've always favored the self check in system, but here the supposedly simple check in process is a mess. No info was given to you prior to your arrival through Agoda messages. Your messages was also left unreplied. When you chat to the number provided in the booking confirmation, the guy immediately passed you around to his colleague/worker. The worker then send the check in info, but upon entering the passcode to the lock box, there was no key inside. I then queried the worker again, and she said that the room was occupied and gave me another box pin code. Then only I can check in. Messaged in Agoda from 1.00pm, but it takes hours just to get a reply and receive a simple pin code for room key lock box. 2. Dirty laundry was left piling up on the entrance door all night. Blocking both the door and the staircase. It's a safety hazard and also very displeasing to the eye. 3. Most of the budget self check in hotel I stayed before would usually have a lock using electronic pin or physical key on its main door. It's not the case here. There is no locking system on its main entrance despite this hotel being in a major street. 4. Parking is a big issue. There are public parking on the road side, but it's very few. However, if you're travelling by public transport, this place is good for you because the bus stand is just few shoplot away.
