Overpriced and truly awful service”
We booked 2 nights through Agoda. When we arrived we received no smile or hello, just an abrupt "did you book through Agoda? let me see your email". She looked at it and then said that even though we'd booked for 2 nights we would have to change rooms tomorrow. No reason given. No apology. It was made clear that we would have to wait the next day until the people who occupied our new room had checked out and then we would have to move our bags to the new room. Given we only had one full day in Nong Khiaw this would mean we would lose half of it waiting to shift rooms. There were no towels at all. However it did have a hammock (as the photos showed) and incredible view. The next day we waited around til 11 when we were told to move our bags. The second room had no hammock (contrary to Agoda ad) and stank of sewerage. There were several used soaps left from the last people. Neither room had wifi. Not a single staff smiled. Great location, really bad wifi and bit dirty”
Location was good, but the bungalow was a bit dirty and you can hear noisy mice between the walls of the adjacent bungalow. Wifi was very slow and the owner turns the wifi off after 9pm/10pm. Great view to the river though.

Beautiful location with comfortable rooms”
Amazing views of the river from the balcony Original rooms were noisy due to being close to a new building site, but the moved us to higher rooms which were much better. Good flood at the restaurant.

Rat-infested bungalows”
We booked double room which was supposed to have western toilet, but upon arrival, we were given family bungalow with squat toilet and a few rats rumbling around at night. Not sure if concrete bungalows are better, but those where we stayed, were horrendous. Aside from sizable rats who roamed around the room in the plain sight, bungalows are just infront of the restaurant, which makes them very noisy. On top of that, owners and guests park their cars and motorcycles just at your back wall, which only adds to the noise. The only semi positive thing was decent view but it was not very enjoyable due to piles of beer bottles and cigarette butts on the porch tables that were not removed for two days we stayed there. Never again!

Unclean and expensive room”
The room was dirty (shoes prints on the floor), no sink in the bathroom. Just the bed was big, hopefully. We booked one room with agoda and another without but we paid the same price. This feels unfair because we heard the staff proposing to a couple the same room for 30% less... And they didn't take it because it was dirty.... I don't recommend. Some friends of us paid less in their hostel for more comfort...

The old chap that took my bags down to my room was lovely. No internet in room or restaurant. I ended going around to another restaurant to use internet.Joy the owner seemed to be very stressed. And not very helpfull.,

BUDGET OPTION ”
I payed £4 a night and this included free all you can eat breakfast buffet on the river. Dorm has over 20 people but beds are spaced out so didn’t feel to bad. Bathroom were nasty and needed a clean but did the job and were bigger than most. Had Hammoks which were great and brilliant location!

I only stayed for one night and that was fine. Amazing view from the hammock on the patio, amazing breakfast buffet with the same amazing view. Lovely woman that was working. The room itself could do with some cleaning. There was no regular toilet which I didn’t mind for one night but maybe if you stay longer is something you need to know

Serious clean and hygiene issue”
Took the standard bungalow. The room was not properly cleaned. There was leftovers from previous stay. It's either a hot water or stream of water. Most of the staff doesn't speak English. The view is great tough. And that where it ends

Good place to stay for one or two nights in Nong Khiaw. The location and the view are thr best. Breakfast on the riverside was very good.

Don’t go here”
Me and my girlfriend booked this place 2 days in advance. When we turned up the woman told us that she had given our room away. Confused, we asked why. We had not replied to her messages she sent to us only a few hours before we arrived 6pm to confirm our arrival (we had confirmed this with our booking, of course). We were on an all-day trek so couldn’t respond anyway. She was very rude and unfriendly and only at our insistence did she arrange another room for us which was down the road. She made us feel bad for ‘putting her out’. This is my first ever review but please don’t go here, it’s a scam.

Cheap at high costs”
They have different accommodations here in a somewhat chaotic layout. Avoid the bamboo bungalows, that I had. Those should have been replaced a long time ago. There was no sink in the bathroom, but the shower was warm ish. Also don’t take fresh food into your room, cos rats will get in and find them. It gets noisy too because of two restaurants below and no isolation in the bamboo bungalows. The breakfast is very satisfying and somewhat tasty though. And the view from the hammock is priceless. So pick your place here wisely.

En 6 semaines de voyage en Asie, il s agit de notre première grande déception. Nous n'avons peut-être pas eu de chance avec notre chambre, mais hormis le hamac et la vue sur le Nam Ou, c'était compliqué. Nous l'avons pris car c'était le moins cher disponible au moment venu. La propreté laisse vraiment à désirer. Les toilettes turques avec chasse d'eau manuelle qui fuit, la douche qui ne s'écoule pas (eau stagnante marron), surfaces sales, lit pas nickel, serviette avec traces marrons... De plus, lune des hôtes
