DON’t DO IT!!!”
The place had a pretty exterior, but the tv was still an old school box that didn’t even work, there were cracks all over our room and some of the outlets were popping off. They also had a policy that strictly did not allow visitors, which we understood as no one starting late or sleeping over. But we were WRONG and it meant not a single foot on property. We had a group of 40 and rented out at least 10 rooms and had a few family members from a nearby hotel meet up with us just to hang out on the beach for the afternoon. They didn’t even allow them to stand by the patio area. Even when we had them stand on the actual beach they were telling them to leave which is highly disrespectful because they do not have rights to the water and beach itself. When asked to speak to a manager there was none to be found and we were told they did not care if they were given a bad review. Bad customer service especially with how much we were spending there. Highly recommend another resort!

Had a great stay at Sunset at Aninuan. It was very clean. The rooms were nice. The food and drink prices were a bit on the expensive side, but other than that, our entire stay was great.

One of the best Resort in Puerto Galera!”
Sunset Resort is one of the best resorts I’ve been in Puerto Galera! It is just beside White Beach and has a great beach front, the water is so clear, you can clearly see your feet under the water. It has an infinity pool altho kinda small but, its ok. The water in the pool is a bit warm so it’s nice. We stayed in the Family rooms that is good for 4 adults and it has a great view and its own veranda. The rooms are so cozy! One thing I can complain about the rooms, they don’t have bidet and no free lotion/toothbrush, toothpaste. The staff are all nice, polite and accommodating. Shoutout to Ms. Shirley, their Manager, who welcomes all the guests with a friendly smile. Kyla in the reception area, Marvin who brought our bags to our rooms and brings us things we need. And Joy from the restaurant. The only downside of this resort is the food is very expensive! Each meal (lunch, dinner) costs about 400php above plus SC and tax! They don’t have service water so you have to buy mineral water which costs around 61php for a small bottle! (They do have 1 free water small bottle per room occupant per day.) The most disappointing part is the free bfast which is Continental composed only of toast, 2 eggs, coffee and juice or fruits. We ordered addtl bacon and to our dismay, it was only 2 small strips which costs P120!😱 Overall tho, despite the pricey food, we really enjoyed our stay here and will definitely come back and still recommend it to my friends! If you want the exclusive, relaxing type of vacation, this is the place for you. My only suggestion is to bring with you some food or just go to White Beach and buy some then you can eat it in your room. They are not strict with bringing food just no cooking inside the rooms.

I am very obsessed with its beautiful scenery. facilites and staff were good, they were very accommodating and very peaceful and quiet, perfect for relaxation, but the food is very expensive, you can eat somewhere around like in talipanan or whitebeach much affordable.

Not as Advertised ”
The resort is at best 1 to 2 star for the room. The door lock was broken, door didn't close so flies, mosquito's and ants came in. Rusted and broken hot water system so only cold water in shower. Plastic toilet seat was to small didn't fit so you had to sit on cold dirty porcelain. This resort advertised pure beach front with sand..Yes front rooms are 10 metres from beach but NOOO beach front, rather a concrete wall with large drop onto sand. When tide full and in it is deep enough to swim but access via difficult concrete steps Not by sand. When tide out no water for over 100 metres and not at all suitible for laying or relaxing. If you want a real beach front with lounges etc choose Amihan beach cabanas which has beautiful beach front only 100 metres away, sante fe resort or similar. Also I did like talking to local kids always jumping off concrete wall few metres from dining tables, other might not like. Also many food options a few minutes walk away.

Perfect Place to relax”
The staffs are all attentive and kind. They took care of us while we were there, they made sure that our stuffs (bags) left at the benches are guarded well while we were roaming around the beach. Perfect place to relax and the resort offered a nice sunset (view) on daily basis. The only thing that made us unhappy is the air-conditioned in the bedroom. It was very warm :-( Surely, we will come back.

Absolutely loved the view! The sunset was amazing. We recommend the staff as well for being attentive and all smiles. We would just suggest better lighting in the room because it was a bit dark and the resort can add free toiletries.

Great People. Great Place. Great Service. Pretty much sums it up.”
At first I was hesitant to book in this resort because the reviews kept saying that it was pricey. Though it really was pricey, but it was not as if you've been robbed of what you have paid for. The staff are very generous about giving services to guests. Every staff you meet will be smiling at you, which I very like. It is worth mentioning that the receptionist (Hanna, hope the spelling is right) greeted us on our arrival and whenever we arrive after we took a stroll outside the resort. I don't know if that was really part of her job but it was really welcoming to see someone waiting for your arrival.

Worst, most unpleasant stay on Galera I had”
This is my third visit to Peurto Galera. The Sunset Hotel was the worst of any hotel on that island that I have used. Our first room did not resemble the picture of the room we booked, and it smelled stale. We changed room and the second room was like that pictured on the website. The suite itself is spacious. The air conditioning struggled the entire three days we were there to keep the room cool. The balcony only had seating for one person while other balconies had hammocks and small tables. The metal banister around the balcony was so rusted and rotted in spots. One of the metal railings on the main steps going to be beach has completely rotted away. The bathroom linen did not smell fresh. The included breakfast is only for a Continental Breakfast. They did give us credit for the Continental Breakfast towards the breakfast we did order. But everything we ordered had a service charge. We ordered two cheeseburgers at the bar and the rolls were stale and the burgers were pressed extremely thin and then were rubbery and burned. There are no telephones in the rooms and there is no room service. The kitchen closes at 9 PM. Something had broken or burst in our refrigerator. The hotel never bothered to even wipe out the mess. There were rusted and brown rings from the other cans that sat in spill in the bottom of the refrigerator. There is no Internet in the rooms, and the wireless at the bar did not work when we tried it. We ended up using a Globe Filipino mobile phone and mobile phone hotspot to get any Internet service within the room.
