Perfect resort for out-of-town vacation”
We had an incredible time at the Sunset Colors. Newly founded, this resort is ideally located on a relatively isolated beach nearby the locality of Port Barton (you have to take a 15-minute boat ride to get there -- service proposed by the hotel.) The cottage we booked perfectly matched our expectations: clean, comfy, nicely decorated, with the most beautiful view upon the sea (all cottages enjoy the same.) We also greatly appreciated the local yet creative cuisine of John, mainly made of fresh products arranged in a filipino manner. More generally, the Sunset Colors' team must be recommended for their warm sympathy and high sense of service. Surroundings are stunning and offer an important panel of outdoor activities (beach walking, swimming, sunbathing, island hopping - the hotel has its own boat -, etc.) Just be aware that you will entirely depend on the SC's team since it is not located in Port Barton. However it was not at all a concern during our stay. Will come back.

Fantastic location, outstanding staff”
Spent four wonderful February nights in this "resort" of sorts. It's located about 20 minutes by boat from Port Barton itself. There are four private cottages -for couples or a single- and a couple of rooms above the restaurant building -couples or families. Everything is extremely clean, and, while basic, it is very clean and well designed -mosquito nets on the bamboo walls and ceilings of the cottages, nice porches, clotheslines, fan in rooms. Please keep in mind the only electricity is produced by a generator that is on about 6 hours a day -3 h in the morning and 3 h in the evening. There is no hot water in the otherwise very well-appointed bathrooms, not even during electricity times. There are kayaks and stand-up paddleboards for free, beach chairs, volleyball net, and a banka that will transport you to/from Port Barton and can also be used for an island-hopping tour. Great value for money too! The staff are very attentive, all 11 of them, and the owners are friendly, funny, and welcoming. You can really see Luiz's previous experience in high-end hospitality industry, as well as Sebastien's outstanding project management skills. Great attention to detail throughout. Every day there was staff cleaning the beach area of what the high tide brought overnight -seaweed, driftwood- , washing the kayaks, changing the fresh foot water outside each cottage, lighting the oil lamps that line the beach area, etc. The food is excellent and portions are huge, and although it would be very difficult to have dinner in town due to transportation constraints, they do not price gouge at all. We had several of our best tasting and well-presented Filipino meals while at Sunset Colors (crabs in coconut sauce, fried fish, grilled stuffed squid, fish lumpia) and they even send their banka on a diet coke-buying mission so they wouldn't run out during my stay. Couldn't recommend the place more, nor the town whole area, especially now that I know that the road construction leading to

Exceptional”
This secluded location is truly beautiful. The character of the natural beach and the stunning sunsets make it a special place. Luiz one of the owners attended to our every need with a big smile and his customer service is one of the best I have found. We took the island hopping trip, which was extremely well organised and we really enjoyed it! One of the boatmen even jumped into the sea and helped me, as I was nervous about snorkelling at first but I soon felt comfortable. The food at sunset colours was the best I ate in Palawan and the prices were reasonable. If you want a quiet place in nature, this is the place for you!

A Perfect Place to Relax”
This was a perfect place to stay in Port Barton. Sebastian is a friendly and great host who takes the time to speak with each guest and make them feel welcomed. Its a great place to rest in hammocks and soak up the sun, or do some activities like island hopping or hiking to a waterfall. Nick, the chef, is very interesting and the food was delicious! Overall, I am extremely happy in my decision to stay at Sunset Colors. I do wish, however, that the hotel used a different van service than RECARO. During both times that we used this van service, they loaded it with people including putting Philippine people in the trunk, roof, and squished on the side with no seat. It's extremely uncomfortable for everyone involved. However, it might be the only option in Port Barton.

Relax in paradise”
We stayed 2 nights in Sunset Colors and definitely we did not want to leave. Everything was superb: nice and peaceful environment, the staff really nice, they have complimentary boat service to Port Barton several times a day, the food was good enough. Watching the sunset is definitely worth a visit, so yes, I would recommend this hotel and would love to stay here again in paradise!

The perfect place!”
We really loved our stay at sunset colors! The staff was amazing, so was the food and our cottage! The whole place is so relaxed and cozy, everything was very clean and well managed. We stayed for two nights and we wish we could have stayed longer, on our three days we went on kayaking and SUP adventures (which where free of charge) and we also tried island hopping, loved everything. This perfect getaway is a short boat ride from Port Barton, and they will pick and drop you of free of charge when you arrive/leave. This place was our absolute favorite on the whole Philippines trip!

Sunset Colors is a Must Visit”
I am so glad I chose Sunset Colors for my lodging in the Port Barton region. Luis, the manager runs a top notch operation. Every need was attended to promptly. The complimentary transport was a definite bonus. Once on Nao Nao beach, relaxation is the name of the game. What a peaceful spot. They run their own island hopping tours and the food is outstanding. All details are attended to thoroughly. You can not ask for more if you want to get off the beaten path.

WOW.... top place to stay”
From the harbour you have to take the boat to the accommodation. And then we arrived there, it was amazing. Great place. We took a kayak and went to the small island. The food there was so good. Everything was fresh. If you are looking for a stay in Port Barton, stay at Sunset Colors!

beautiful, secluded island”
loved our Port Barton stay; there is a main town which is busier and more crowded; while Sunset Colors is a 15 min boat ride away. They have a neighbouring resort called Prince John but you won't feel crowded at all. The privacy and seclusion are the best features of this resort. They provide kayaks, bikes and paddle boards for guests to use so it's never boring. They can arrange an island hopping tour as well which we loved. The food selection is not as good as I had expected but everything we ate was delicious! Kudos to the management for taking care of us during our brief stay. :)

Excellent”
We spent a nice stay at Sunset colors despite of the rain that was falling most of the time, I can imagine how the place is nice and peaceful when the sun is shining! The staff and especially Luiz are really welcoming and helpful. Cottage is simple but comfortable, only one detail to note there is no window (open air with mosquito net) so when the wind is very strong it is a problem. It could be improved with a shutter. Overall it is a place we would really recommend!

TRUE GEM!”
It was even beyond our expectations. This is a really true gem. So beautiful, calm and relaxing place with great service and nice, clean accommodation. It is like a small private paradise. There are just few guests on the island so it really gives you the space for privacy, relaxation and contact with nature as well. The food was great, the chief and stuff are great, everything was fresh and tasteful. Oh and those sunsets and watching the stars during the night and the noise of the sea gives you good night when you are falling to sleep. We are so grateful that we could be there, thank you Sebestian and whole stuff and wish you all the best!

Was this the same place everyone reviewed?”
Dear Sebastien or sunset colors manager, We kept waiting to be impressed; it never happened. We arrived at the property by boat and I had sparkles in my eyes. All manager Randy had to do was keep me satisfied for two days. A little something, anything, to make me feel impressed and justify the rave reviews. Upon check-in, we were given our key and told some things. We were not shown to our room nor told about any island hopping options. We had a meal at the restaurant and tucked in for the night. The food and service were good, but not great. I slept like a baby and my girlfriend awoke several times due to encroaching canines throughout the night. In the morning I thought something was off when Randy asked about our sleep and I mentioned the dogs. He immediately dismissed it saying she likes "party party". Far from bending over backward to help, as one review mentioned. Downright dismissive and borderline rude. He then proceeded to sit at his computer in the dining room and make our dining experience awkward and intrusive. I felt like I was bothering him to ask about the kayaks and SUPs that were in poor condition. He sent us off without a life vest, a potentially grave misstep as my girlfriend is a non-swimmer, and we were charmed by the waterfall and some local children later that afternoon. Upon return, the dichotomy between this manager and the true Filipino nature was apparent. We entered the restaurant and he failed to get up from his chair to greet us! After ten minutes his son delivered drink menus and we were pressured to order something from them. He finally came to take our food orders, shirtless, and I was flabbergasted! This was FAR from exceptional service! We spent the meal feeling duped and wondering if we were in the place we read about. We asked about transport the next day and the server told us he would ask the manager to come over. As we waited for the food he sat there playing on the computer and never came over. Finally, after he came to

++ We enjoyed our stay in sunset colors, IT is a perfect place for couples who want Some time alone, iT is a peacefull place. You have Some kayaks you can use so iT was very beautiful to go to a small beach closeby, the food was very good — the beach was not very beautiful, there is only electricity for 6 hours a day, so you have no fan during the night and the beach beds were dirty

Peaceful ”
Attentive staff who will make you feel at home. If you’re looking for a peaceful, rustic experience that’s off-the-beaten path, then this is for you. The beach isn’t wonderful but they offer free kayaking and mountain bikes so you can reach nearby beaches and a waterfall. Be sure to take advantage of the tours offered by the hotel.
