Nice quiet place to stay”
Rooms are ok and clean and there are 2 nice pools. It is a bit out of the way of the main tourist route, but boating activities to nearby islands are handy. Breakfast is very Asian and there is only one restaurant. It is about 10mins to Ao Po town.
Worst hotel ever”
I checked in and check out same day , nothing like in the picture , old , out of style and the hills that go up in the mountain is so dangerous , hard to go anywhere , and also in quite rural area , too scary to be living in
Close to AO Po Grand Marina”
We stayed at a resort on the other island but our flight arrived late in the evening when there weren't any speedboats available anymore, thus I searched for AO Po Grand Marina on Agoda and found this property being located very close by and booked it for that reason for a 1 night stay. It turned out to be a lot better than expected and we enjoyed our stay. The rooms are clean and have a nice view, the resort is overlooking the ocean. Service was very good. Would book again.
Pleasant But Not for Long Stay”
First question asked by our driver was why we chose to stay @Supalai where "there is nothing" - no shopping & no beach & it's perched on a hillside. In other words, not a happening place. Well, that was precisely why we chose it! We wanted a peaceful and relaxing place away from the crowds, with a view of the sea, apart from the fact that we were heading to Ao Po pier the next day, and it is a short drive there. We would love to come back here some day, but are skeptical if the spa facilities would be available for a totally relaxing time there. We had wanted to get a treatment but was informed that no therapists were available.
A good quality Hotel isolated from Phuket twon”
My wife and I have visited Thailnad five times but had never stayed in the Au Por area of Phuket. The Supalai is isolated if your looking for close shopping, however if your looking for a good quality hotel with good facilities and dining in a quiet area away from the crowds this is it. Enjoyed our stay there Hotel staff were efficient and friendly will stay there again..
Not what we expected ”
We were really excited to stay here, right when we walked into the lobby we were taken back by the beauty of the view. We booked for 4 nights but checked out after the first night for multiple reasons. We asked about renting a scooter for the day as this location is very secluded and far from everything. We decided to take a walk on the beach (you have to walk down a VERY steep hill to get there, and then walk back up) but the sand was full of barnacles and we cut our feet. The manager said they had that service yet the next day said they were not in contract with any company anymore. It was mainly Chinese tourists which created a very loud and rude atmosphere, and they just stare at you. The breakfast was tailored to their culture and was picked over immensely and when they put fresh food out, it’s fight to the finish to get some. The wifi was horrible and there was 1 plug in the whole hotel room to charge our electronics. The view is breathtaking and the pool was great but the negatives definitely over powered the positives. We will not be staying here again.
So amazing and relaxing”
Everything at Supalai was incredible. The staff were all really nice and the whild place had a amazing views. They also had free kyacing and shuttle into phuket town which we used both and were great. Seriously I can highly reccomend Supalai!!!!
We picked this hotel to stay in at the end of a sailboat charter with Sunsail because of its location near the marina. It was perfect for several reasons: The pools were delightful, the staff very helpful, the view overlooking the Phang Nga bay fantastic. Decent food but a little uneven. The only negative was the hotel had many large groups of Chinese tourists who were very noisy.
Close to pier”
We stayed here one night after our flight as we were leaving the next day to Koh Yao Noi and the hotel is very close to the pier. It’s a very big hotel overrun with bus loads of Chinese tourist but it was perfect for our layover . Rooms are quite big and there is fantastic view of the sunrise in the morning. The breakfast catered for the Chinese so not very Thai authentic .
Had a good time. Hotel saw I was going fishing and a staff member offered to take me. I went early morning(not with the staff member) fishing before the sun came up walking back up the beach the wild dogs in the area didnt like me being there and tried to attack me. almost had to beat them with my fishing pole. The place is a Chinese group tourist hotel so be patient on trying to get some eggs in the morning...hahahaha take a walk on the beach at lowest tide and walk all the way out to see some pretty coral...dont forget sturdy sandals.
Great hotel in a great location. Loved our stay here”
We stayed at Supalai for 5 nights and enjoyed our stay. Their breaky is a standard breaky buffet in Thailand. You can also order local and western food from the menu. It’s a gorgeous view and everything was always very clean. The staff were super friendly. Especially when we got crook they were very good at helping us. The only down side (or could be a good thing depending what type of holiday) is how far away it is from a lot of locations. It’s on top of a hill you couldn’t really walk walk down and especially not up. So it was min 700 Baht to get out for the day. And not many restaurants near. If you want a quiet holiday in the hotel and by the pool and bay this is an excellent place. If you wanted to go sightseeing I would stay closer to the west of Phuket
The Hotel was close to our friends. Magnificent views and close to the pier to travel to the islands. The Staff were very friendly and in fact my Husband had a Medical emergency during our stay and the Hotel provided a staff member(Marisa) who spoke excellent English to travel with us in the Ambulance to the Hospital to ensure we didn't have and difficulties with the language and translation. I travelled every day to the Hospital from and the staff were very supportive and ensured I had a great Taxi driver who was there whenever I needed him. My husband and I went back to the Hotel for Dinner before we were flown home for further Medical treatment and Surgery.
Everything seemed to be great until my son saw the cockroach on the nightstand. They killed it right away, thank God! My shower didn't drain properly like my mom's room. The water drained into the bathroom soaking the whole floor but I let them know before I left. Hopefully, they fix it. My husband went to their only restaurant alone and ordered beef burger. It was gone bad. He was shy to tell anyone at the restaurant so he ate it all trying not to be rude. The next day we checked out, he was sick all day going to the bathroom non stop. They need to check their food before they cook for customers. I gave good stars because all these things can be fixed. The service was excellent!
Isolated, relax and peaceful”
the hotel was located a bit too far from all tourist destinations so would not recommend for those who don't have own/rental transportation. Everything was acceptably okay to us and the fee was considerably reasonable to room condition. However there were two things we were unhappy about: 1.) there should be small janitor room on every floor to house the cart where they use to keep all cleaning and hotel's accessories tool when making the room. It should not be parked on the walk way in front of guest room. 2.) The buffe was one of the worst meals we had ever seen for a 4-5 star hotel ever.
Lovely hotel with wonderful views and setting.”
We paid extra for grand de-luxe sea view, room no. 325, which did have a fantastic view and was spacious. However, it is on the end of the accommodation block, 15 metres from the noisiest part of the main block which housed ventilation units from the kitchens. Standing on the balcony the noise was deafening, not so bad with balcony doors shut as the room air con blocked it out. The room below (225) would have been worse. Hotel was pretty full with Chinese tour groups and mostly Russian guests. Noise level as the tour groups arrived or left at all hours did affect our sleep. Breakfast is aimed at the above groups of guests and we ended up buying our own cereal. Fortunately we had a hire car and could travel when we wanted. It is a lovely part of the island but you need transport as the hotel is away from towns or villages. There are extensive grounds and monkeys from the adjoining forest were on the roof and balconies one morning! The pictures of the beach are misleading, it had not been cleaned when we were there and is a 5 minute walk down and 15 minute walk back. The hotel is up a very steep road, a shuttle service to the beach is provided but we did not see many doing that. The swimming pools were very good and kept clean. Our room was very nice if a little 'jaded' . Shower head needed de-scaling to increase the flow, bathroom grouting poor etc. We stayed for nine nights and ate at the hotel restaurant half the time. Food was excellent and very good value. Also will remember the beautiful setting over the pools and looking over Phnang Na Bay as we ate breakfast or had an evening meal.
Nice accommodation for both vacation and business.”
although quite isolated from town but the sea view it has to offer can make pleasant week-end stay for family or even a short business trip if you have owned transport. free wi-fi is good compliment. pool is cozy, nice and friendly to kids, but if they want to play on beach then it is not there. front staff are friendly and trying to help. overall is a good value for money.
Villa is good value for money and staff is helpful”
good place for couples as resort is clean, not too crowded and quiet. not advisable for children as villa is built on slope, too much of walking up and down to villa, restaurant and no cartoon channel. gym equipments with seaviews.
Nice room and hotel but loud clientele”
going there at chinese new year time, the hotel was mainly occupied by chinese groups and families that were irrespectuous of the silence. the brakfast room is particularly noisy and the breakfast quality is poor. although the hotel is nice, the overall impression of our stay was damaged by the clientele environment and we felt like in a camp rather than in a hotel. i would go back in low season but definitely will avoid this place in high season and opt for a higher end option.
Lovely hotel but uneducated clients”
the supalai is nestled in a wilder part of phuket island, away from the crowd and the traffic jams. it is therefore an affordable option while also offering a beautiful, authentic environment. the hotel is nice with a large swimming pool and a nice view. the restaurant serves very decent local food but the room and service is pretty basic. breakfast is disappointing. a large part of the clients are chinese and russians and it can get pretty noisy at the restaurant, in the corridors or at swimming pool. avoid high season or prefer a more luxurious hotel if you want to relax.
we had two remaining nights left on our thailand trip and decided to stay somewhere in phuket relatively close to the airport without being in a busy area. this resort is perfect for this situation, but also a place well be going back to again next time for an extended stay.
