Bad place to stay for family ”
Noisy and smoking neighborhood. Cleaning service is bad, no cleaning the bad, no clean towel, no ice cube( cause the machine broke), empty napkins in the toilet.
Not fancy but very nice, clean and modern. Rooms are nicely appointed. Excellent location in Mission Valley near Balboa Park and Downtown with easy access to beaches, Sea World, the Embarcadero, USS Midway, Maritime Museum and San Diego Bay tours. Ideal for tourists on a moderate budget.
Pros: wooden floor Fridge & microwave Glass shower door Free parking Free breakfast Location, close to freeway, no noise from freeway Cons: Thin door, could hear ppl walking by & talking outside Somewhat loud fridge. Water leaking through between shower doors. Tight parking spots / difficult to park at late night for all the good n decent spots will be taken by then. Not many healthy options on breakfast.
If you are on a budget, this property is a good choice. It is accessible from/to downtown San Diego. Buses are just few meters away from the property.
Large, Clean Rooms, Nice Buffet Breakfast ”
Would stay again, enjoyed the excellent buffet breakfast, large clean room and helpful staff, located near most major area attractions including those downtown.
Poor Maintenance ”
Spiders and flying insects in room when we first arrived. On day two we came back to find the maid left the toilet brush in the toilet. Called the front desk and an hour later nothing. Took it out ourselves and put outside our door. It sat there for about 18 hrs before it was picked up. No apology. Avid smoking on the walkways outside rooms despite big signs saying not allowed. Called front desk and got nothing. Staff allows ice buckets to sit outside the rooms with cigarette butts in them so they obviously don’t care. So much for non-smoking and care for guests. Won’t be staying here again.
No roach and beg bug during my one-week stay”
After reading some comments, originally I was worried about roach and beg bug, but I found none during my one-week stay in the hotel. Pros: • The room was quite new and clean. It offered assorted sockets for you to charge your devices. • The breakfast had various options like waffle, toast, egg, sausage, and apple, so you can start your day with a well-balanced meal. Be aware that some items may be out of stock early when there are a lot of guests. (I had the experience when Port of San Diego Holiday Bowl Parade was held on that morning.) • They also have a small gym, washers & dryers, and vending machines. Cons: • As some people say, the front desk was polite but not very enthusiastic, but I think that’s ok because we usually see them only when checking in & out. • Sometimes the cleaner didn’t (or forgot to) replace my towel and toiletry, but personally I was fine with it. • Although the hotel seems to be close to the Fashion Valley trolley station, the path was quite rugged.
Worth my stay !”
I would book again.
Great on a budget”
Conviently located right off the 8 fwy, easy on the wallet, comes with a decent breakfast, and it is clean. Granted, the rooms are a little small, but we're not playing basketball in there so all is good. My one complaint, is the rooms don't have a dresser. That is fine if I'm staying a night, but was staying the week, and it would've been nice to get my shirts, socks, and underwear out of the suitcase and into a drawer. Kind of strange to not have one drawer in the room to put things away. Overall, not a bad stay, and would recommend.
forget a things”
After i realize that i forget my items at the hotel. On the day i immediately contact the hotel on phone call and email but no one pick up my call or response to my email.
Comfortable, nice breakfast and value for money”
We were amazed by this Super 8 in San Diego California! Though the receptionist who facilated our easy check in was quick, she was rather stern and unfriendly! The AC inroom 215 was unstable! It stops on it own and whenit switches back on, room is bloody freezing! If you adjust the ACyou are srewed big time!
Dirty and cheap”
For the price we paid, we expected more. They didn't even clean our rooms for the 2 nights we were there. The compound was dirty and smelly too.
Great if you have a car or are hap9y to bus or trolly
Nice to stay”
For a short trip, consider nice location to stay!
If I could give the staff a zero, I would”
The location and rooms are fine. We returned to our room on the second day of our 6 day stay to find all of our belongings gone. Toiletries, electronics, clothing, suitcases, everything. When I went to the front desk to find out what happened. She gave me no explanation while she checked in another customer. Turns out they put all of our stuff in trash bags and moved it to another room because "they needed our room." She lied to me and said she had tried to call me and let me know. I had received 0 phone calls from her in the room or on my phone. No apologies from her. I asked to speak to the manager several times over the rest of our stay and he was always too busy. I left my phone number for him to contact me and asked that he call and he never did. I can't believe that they would think its appropriate to do to treat their guests this way. Especially since the cap to a bottle of my medicine was missing after they dumped our things into another room. Otherwise, the elevator is slow, we had maintenance people coming in and out of our room(s) all week. The breakfast room is small and very crowded. The people staying in the hotel often stand outside of the rooms and smoke and parking is an absolute nightmare.
