Musty smell”

We found the owner extremely friendly and helpful, but the room was smelling very much like mildew and musty. Easy to find coming into Torquay from Queenscliff, and a good choice of restaurants near by. The walking trail across from the Motel was incredible.

I made a last minute booking during summer school holidays, so, I had to pay much more than the usual standard motel rate to secure a room here. On top of the very high rate there was also a 1.4% credit card charge (2% for Amex). The location, however, is fantastic - central, close to shops, cafes and transport, and right opposite the beach. A microwave, kettle & toaster were provided, but not cutlery or crockery, though these were apparently available, for an extra charge. The air conditioner was old and noisy, though worked fine. The WiFi was poor, but that's common with accommodation. The room was spacious, with a clean, comfortable queen bed, plus sofa, table & chairs, wide-screen TV etc. The shower was good, but corners of the bathroom had obviously been bypassed by the cleaner for quite a while, and had gathered a collection of hair, dust and spiders, though the rest of unit was clean. Would defiantly stay again, if I could secure the room at a better rate next time.

Central Location at the seaside”

We stayed as a stop over on our trip along the Great Ocean Road. Room was large enough and had fridge and microwave for any quick meals. The room was also clean and the bedding was comfortable. Breakfast was a little overdone, but was tasty and there was enough to tied us over until dinner time.

Great Location”

Good typical budget motel. No frills but everything you expect. Only criticism was the air con which sounded like a cement truck dumping its load and just as loud. Had to switch it off to be able to sleep. However I expect it has a limited life left and will probably be replaced soon.

Clean and Cosy Room”

If you are self driving at Great Ocean Road, this is one of a good place as you can park your car just right in front of your room. The room is big enough for 2 people and best is the room come with Microwave... I like this place!

good hotel met my needs”

it was clean and tidy nd had basic facilities. it was cold and the heater was noisy but they provided spare blnkets. the restaurant was closed as it was mid-week in autumn, but there were good restaurants nearby. the loction was good for surf beaches and walking the surf coast path.

Convenient motel at a competitive price. ”

Easy pleasant and quick check-in and out. Good sized room and bathroom. Everything works. Room contained tea, coffee, fridge, big TV, just about all needs covered. Swim pool. Great location close to restaurants, cafes, beach & shops.

Great location close to the shops and beach”

Although the weekend we stayed it rained heavily, the hotel was busy, but fairly quiet. We didn't get much of a welcome from reception when we checked in, we were just handed the keys. The room was sdequate. Bar fridge and coffee/tea making facilites, the toaster and microwave was a nice extra. A negative point would be the smoke alarm was missing from the ceiling and the facewasher was dirty which made me question the cleanliness of the towels. But price wise and location, good value for a weekend away.

Good place good location ”

The hotel is basic, small rooms, good for short stays. In December holidays they skyrocket the prices . Location of hotel is pretty good, close to two train stations.

Great location, somewhat rudimentary. If available, ask for a room that does not connect to the other room otherwise can be noisy.

First impressions were quite disappointing, the room was small with the only view being of the wall dividing properties... The queen bed seemed to sink in the middle and our neighbouring guests on the second night of our stay were quite noisy - both factors ruining a good night's sleep. The cost of this place per night is definitely based on the location rather than the quality of the room.

Limited service. No cutlery or plates in room. Had advertised Wi Fi but didn't go to our room. Important for kids today. No other food, service available for rooms.

Reasonable price ”

Clean and tidy. Simple equipment in the room. Towels are not very clean cause there're stains left on.

Excellent location!”

Location is excellent, easy walking distance to beach, shops & cafes. Room was adequate but not overly clean (eg: bathroom). Quite small as well. Other facilities were good.

Relaxing - but the service wasnt great ”

We went to the office several times for assistance at decent hours of the day - but could rouse no one to help us. Rooms weren't super clean and linen was stained. Felt uncomfortable when we dined in the restraunt - food was superb - but manager obviously wanted to).

The room was clean but had been shut up for a while but once we opened the door and windows and got some fresh air through the apartment it was satisfactory.

Apart from the broken couch, it looked like people had been laying on the bed. I spoke to the manager about both issues and he didnt seem interested in the couch and said someone had probably checked out the room and didn't take it - not good enough!
