Good location, bad overall service, not clean in any aspect. Misleading pictures versus price.

Far away and no water”
Surf Garden is far away yo kuta, and there are no many places around the hotel to eat or other. The view is nice and the bungalow is good but not the bathroom....it hasn't got water, so we couldn't take a shower.

Very good”
After a mess-up on our site we ended up here, in he venting. Staff was incredibly helpful and kind! Helping us to find all sorts of solutions. We stayed the night and left the next day with a taxi that they arranged for us. Again; great guys! Simple breakfast, but fine. Kids loved the pool table. This hotel is located at the end of a wobbly, stony, sand road. Mainly surfers here. Next door a skaters restaurant with a half pipe. Cool! If you are here to surf, this is the area.; the hotel is built against the mountain, rising from the sea. Amazing views,

Lovely staff but not good value for money”
We booked the surf garden villa for the end of our trip to get some last minute relaxation, but were disappointed to discover that the rooms look nothing like the pictures on the website. For £60 a night our room was incredibly basic, and the hotel facilities are not as extensive as listed on agoda. The staff were very friendly and were by far the best thing about the hotel, but like the other reviews state this hotel has a lot of potential that has yet to be fulfilled. It's also important to note that the hotel is not that close to the centre of Kuta - it's about a 20 minute drive down a very pothole-ridden dirt track and all taxis charge 150,000 rupiah for a one way trip. If you're an experienced biker than this shouldn't be too much trouble to bike, but beginners will probably struggle on the road as it's so dusty and poorly maintained. All in all, you can get way better facilities and location for a much cheaper price in Kuta (I'd recommend the JM hotel) but if you want to stay away from the centre of the town then this place is okay.

Not for travelera probably just for surfers”
we got there and they didt have our room, so they send us to another place that was worst than the one we pay for, then the staff was really bad, they forgot our breakfast order the first morning, they took really long to take the food, the staff was always doing something else than really working, i dint like this hostel at all.

Sur Garden ”
Staff, food, entertainment
I had great time, the staff took care of everything, they responded quickly to everything, the staff showed and introduced me to the villagers as well as the surrounding area, I even tried surfing for the fist time. The locals we're very welcoming and I recommend Surf Garden for everyone that just wants to relax and get away from the city and for those who want to surf.

Naftaline.”
Nice spot in a nice village, but...
We had a bungalow on the top of the hill. Very nice view, but steep climbing. Very pity that garbage is thrown away just behind the fence and along the stairway! Minimal Equipment in the room. No desk, no mineral water (had to pay for it), no toiletries except toilet paper, shower yes, but only cold water, internet access – Wireless not working. But the worse of all, naphthalene mothballs everywhere. When going to bed, suffocating smell, coughing, headache, bad night. Next morning, looking for the origin of the awful smell, found the mothballs in the matrass! Just underneath the pillow, 3 balls in the holes the moths made in the matrass. Took them out, but the smell was still in the matrass the next night, and so one more coughing night! I wonder if Minjong L. had the same experience, but thought it was paint smell? We had room 302. Other problem, surfcamp next door. First night, very loud music and yelling from 5:00 pm until a salvatory general power cut at about 11:30 pm!!! Wonder until what time of the night the drunken neighbors would have been yelling without the power cut?
