I am very delighted to have stayed here. The Lodges are superb and spot on all aspects. The staffs were amazing. They assisted all the way. The private beach for the in house guest was very nice. I liked it a lot. We will surely come again for a relaxing stay. The music band playing table to table was very entertaining. The Sand Bar team was good. Able to create an awesome cocktail. The movie by the beach is a great idea. The food at the Perahu Restaurant was nice. Well keep up the great Job..
A paradise from 4pm to 9am”
The island in itself is a remote location with 29 rooms. The personnel is really taking care of guests and we feel at home really quickly. The room are very nice so are the villa. The food at the restaurant is really great especially the special rice. I would recommend without any problem.
Best customer service and beautiful island”
I’m very much happy with Sutera team they are wonderful people! Great place, excellent customer service .. value for money ... special thanks to F&B manager Khairul, and his team members Egi and Stella you people are awesome!!!! Humble request to the public, please keep the island clean do not litter .. sad to see rubbish floating around the beach area .. Overall great place and people !!!
Prefect stay !”
Very lovely stay for our family with 2 little kids! Operation manager Mr Wang show great hospitality and care to my kids, his advices are great , breakfast are great (just a bit many flies). We are stay in hillside villa ,Staff Tommy helped very much taking our luggage ( a long way with steep stairs from lobby) A must to come back in near future!
- Excellent service staff - Idyllic setting (if you are booking the hillside villas). You WILL wake up to a surreal scenery and sounds - Cleanliness is above average. - Rustic luxury Caveat emptor - corals in the immediate vicinity are dying, and I feel a sense of dread for the future of marine life around the island - an army of day trippers will descend on the island between 10am to 4pm. Luckily, the resort has a defacto private beach. - scheduled electricity downtime, each lasting about 5 minutes. Rather than being an inconvenience, we just loved the feeling of solitude and serenity in those few moments being engulfed by nature. - Internet connection is slow and unreliable, but I'm guessing you are not coming here to check work emails or host teleconferences, right? :)
Hi, I can't ask more about this place. it's wow me actually, this place like a paradise to me. i love every thing about it. the water is so crystal clear, white sand beach and clean. The staff was very friendly and make you feel welcome. I would definitely come back here again and recommend to friends.
Beachside Luxury on Island”
Sutera Sanctuary Lodges is a luxurious slice of island life. Facilities are good & the beach is stunning. The hotel has its own private stretch of beach so you dint get overwhelmed by the daytrippers. Onece they leave at about 3pm you have the place to yourself & fellow guests. Excellent snorkelling conditions in the shallows. Dont miss sunset at Sunset point! We were delayed an hour getting to the Island by a problem with the Hotel boat, but on arrival we received a heartfelt apology & were upgraded to a Villa. Great Service.
The employees are friendly. There is so quiet and romantic after 4:00pm because a lot of tourists left. Staying here is the best choice because of the beautiful sunset and peaceful beach. The room is also great! It’s clean, large. The food is delicious. This staying is going to be an unforgettable memory in my life. There is only this hotel in the island ;therefore, it seems like you stay in personal island and beach!
A place to unwind and get appreciate nature ”
Island is near to the mainland, only 10 minutes travel time by speedboat from Sutera Harbour Marina. The Island is open to public from 8am to 4pm thus you will find the island is crowded between these time especially weekends and public holiday. Lots of amenities for visitors. Food serves are bountful especially the seafood as well as local fruits. Few types of accommodation are provided range from beach villa to hill top villa. These are all luxury air-coned accommodation for visitors who opt to stay overnight. The island provide visitors with strategic location to witness the sunrise & sunset. Lots of water sports are available in the island and island hoppings to the nearest islands can also be arranged. Few good restaurants are operated to caters for the daily visitors and those who stays overnight in the island.
Great experience overall”
This was a good place to stay for a couple nights. Pros: beautiful beaches and views, superb facilities, really warm staff, good hiking, snorkeling opportunities and cool wildlife Cons: the day tourists can get a little annoying as there are so many, however if you’re staying in the hillside villas there’s a beach that’s relatively private. Also, the restaurant was good with many offerings, but you have to be super specific about your order; I asked for some items that were delivered incorrectly or not at all, although with that said they were very accommodating to fix when I raised it. Finally, the island can be a little pricey, especially for beer - if you have time, stock up on supplies before you head to the island. Overall would definitely come back. Thank you Sutera!
Good villa but disappointed with failure of TV connection. No activities during the night time. Great sunset point. Staff very friendly and helpful.
It's a great place to live in.”
Room is unexpectedly comfortable, there are many fuses when snorkeling, restaurant is good too. And it's near KK.
Great clear water, bad food, good room”
Water is really awesome! You can see fish and beautiful corals! If you want peace and quiet, visit there not on a holiday like christmas, easter or summer. Its going to be packed with tourists. Speaking of tourists, from 10am to 3pm every day they come to the island so i would recommend swimming either before or after they have their tours. Food is another topic to discuss.. the portions are huge and its kind of bland and tasteless. THEY HAVE REALLY BAD WIFI! Keep that in mind becuase they dont have that many facilities except the beach so it gets boring sometimes. Download your episodes and movies for entertainment when its dark - also to keep the kids from whining.
Will return to this hotel again. Exceptional staffs. A good place to experience quality island life.”
Pros: Nice “private” island beach for in house guests before 8:30am and after 4pm. Staffs are exceptionally helpful and polite. The Sunset Point View is wonderful to visit but make sure to spray anti mozzie before going there as there’s lots of mozzies along the way. Also, don’t forget to snorkel and see the corals and fishes, quite a view. The island restaurant serves huge portion of dishes for dinner and quite good taste. Cons: During snorkeling, there’s a lot trash among the corals that can be seen. Sad 😕
fluffy lovers! you must come here.”
big colorful cushions everywhere! in the room, at least ten, three pillows for each. at the restaurant you will see a lot even can find huge cushions (one meter square) . sinking under fluffies.., my childhood dream came true! service, cleaness, view from the room.. perfect! you just need to wish a fine weather.
Great island getaway ”
My time at Sutera was really lovely - the staff are great and very friendly, the lodgings had a very home-y feel, and the island is beautiful (the sunsets were breathtaking). The only negative things I have to say is that there is basically no wifi (I often couldn't send/receive messages or check my emails) and during the day there are hordes of people that come onto the island for tours (locals and tourists), which I felt really took away from the beauty of the island. I would say 2 nights is a sufficient amount of time here.
Cozy and Clean”
Spend one night 2 adults, 3 young kids. We had a lot of fun time, the jetty is very close to the room, private beach area and cheap snorkeling rental. in the afternoon, we walked for about 40 minutes to watched amazing sunset and came back to join the lighting up Christmas tree event (specially invited with card sent to the room). Will definitely come back as Manukan Island so close to KK.
Helpful and Thoughtful Staff”
I book my stay through Agoda but on the day to travel to Manukan Island, my daughter caught fever and need to visit the Dr. We have no choice but to cancelled out trip. As I book the hotel at a special price, it is understand that no refund is allowed and payment is fully paid. I called in just to informed so that the boat will not wait for us.; but to my surprise they together with Agoda helped to arranged to postpone my stay. It is so kind of them to take this extra efforts. Thank you
This is not our first trip to Manukan, me and my family have been there several times from Jesselton Jetty, just for a round trip. But I managed to get the best offer there was through Agoda for an overnight stay at this island. It was surprising because I usually thought islands stays would cost most than RM1K per night, but I booked this immediately when finding out it's only less than 600 bucks per night. I was me and my family first time taking a boat from Sutera Harbour Marina Jetty with a luxury boat (better than the ones we boarded at Jesselton Point), it's not rough or challenging as Jesselton speed boats, it was smooth and only took about 15 minutes to reach Manukan. We love the boat so much. Upon arriving at Resort reception, the welcome was unexpected. The customer service was the most friendly, there were waiting lobby where we wait comfortably and some welcoming drinks and a wet face towel to refresh. We got our villa keys in no time.
Great place and staffs. Wonderful place for relaxing”
The staffs were very helpful and friendly. Was suprised with the speed boat as we thought it would be normal ferry transfer. They briefed us well. The room was excellent. Superb view. Very relaxing Not much of fish when we went. Food slightly pricy. Would be better if u could bring some food along. Overall the best experience 💖
