Worth value for money ”
The hotel seems a bit old, however, everything is in good condition, staff is professional; no river view from the room but river is just cross the road; close to the opium museum and the pier. Large parking space.
The hotel's staff are very kind. When I needed to print out something from my PC, they let me use their printer. They told me it's free but of course I paied for the papers and for their service. One morning I had no time for breakfast but they made a small sandwich for me - which was very nice and kind. Free wifi, which is quite fast and useful. Its restaurant serves very nice food, too.
Without karaoke it could be ok.....”
The blarung karaoke sounds until fuer midnight from the neighbors behind the hotel caused real inconveniences to the hotel guests. The reception appeared to not to care too much about it despite of complains.
Clean and quite place”
the rooms is very clean and quite. The place is good for family. Just walk 5 mins to golden triangle river rank and just 2 mins walk to a very good Italian pizza name Meko pizza. This is the best pizza ever I have in Thailand. The pizza which is same as I tasted in Italian and price is reasonable.
Lovely Hotel, Great Location , Service with Smile”
We only stay here for one night only due to rush of our journey. My daughter has been here for 2 night last summer with her friends. She came back mainly for the piza. Hotel holder introduced us new piza manu this time, we have tried it together our thai food, of course did satisfy with both quality and reasonable price. Also hotel situated in good location, within walking distance (1Km) to Hall of Opium, clean room and good service.
Nice hotel, excellent location, helpful staff”
the staff was very helpful with well speaking english and good knowledge of not only their region, but the entire country. they gave us good advice on what to see. the hotel was newly renovated with spacious and comfortable room. we did not have any problems with wifi. breakfast was so-so, but the next door restaurant had an excellent choice of continental breakfasts. the location was awesome, minutes away from all you need to see there.
Generally, we were satisfied with our stay except for the Wi-fi service. it wasnt available in the room. we had to go to the lobby just to get connected. Other than that, it was a great place to stay at. the night market is just a stone's throw away.
Nice hotel in a quiet location”
Nice place to relax for a couple of days. Wifi only in lobby. Coming up from Chiang Mai, make sure you go to Acade bus terminal to booked your green bus ticket early as they go like hot cakes. The green bus will stop in front of this hotel if you tell the driver in advance. If not, you will have to take the local bus from Chiang Mai old bus station to Chiang Saen and catch a taxi to this hotel (about baht). Trust me, costly mistake and extra travel time. From the ferry ticket, you can catch the green minivan to Chiang Rai city, 1 van per hour.
Fantastic Resort & Location; Friendly & Great Food”
this wonderful resort exceeded all my expectations and was far less expensive that similar places i've stayed. it is a modern facility but with all the charm of an older establishment. they have their own chef and the cuisine at the restaurant is gourmet, from the traditional thai dishes to the innovative pizzas. i had breakfast and dinners here, and they were scrumptious and priced very reasonably. the setting, both inside and outside, was lovely. the location is right in the heart of sop ruak in the golden triangle, and everything is very convenient by walking. i walked to the house of opium, for example, and, a little further, the hall of opium. across the street almost are boats to laos, including just short visits. the room itself was very comfortable, including a very modern bathroom and all the comforts one likes when traveling. the only exception, they will be adding some more english tv channels soon they said. this is a family run resort, and they are extremely friendly and accommodating, and the daughter, who speaks fluent english, even gave me rides and helped set up things to do. all of the staff are very friendly. this resort was quite a bargain and comparable to far more expensive ones. it is easy to find, off the main street, and has a modern hotel building as well as separate wood cottages. i was very spoiled by my stay here.
A little too old, but close to everything”
the hotel is a little too old, but for the price is ok, noisy in the hallway, not much of a breakfast. rooms are clean but old, close to everything. no need to stay for the night if you come to the golden triangle from chiang rai or chiang mai, just make a day trip, you can see everything in one day.
Adequate for the money”
This is a good choice for budget hotel but there are some elements you will have to give up at this cost. The room is small but adequate. The view from either city or river is not very good. Breakfast is bare bones but you can fill your stomach. The television selection is totally limited to Thai stations. The beds are exactly like sleeping on a wooden plank-which is standard for Thai catering hotels but very hard on visitors unless you choose to sleep on your back only. On the plus side the parking is excellent and the staff were all very friendly and helpful.
Dirty old hotel ”
No pros. Dirty old hotel not worth the money they ask for.
Personal very nice and they offer us a better room because available. Have been sleeping there 3 times now. I will sure use them again. :-)
Good location to nearby tourist attraction”
Enjoyable but difficult to find halal food.
U just need to walk 3mins to the opium museum and the park and the golden triangle and u will find yourself at the centre of the triangle and it is great.
Travelling during the winter time , the hotel is a bit old and smelly , no hair dryer in the room , not enough blankets ,hard to find good restaurant around . The location is ok , easy to access to shopping area .
Great location and staff but lacks comfortable bed”
This hotel is right in the heart of the Golden Triangle, around 12km from Chiang Saen. I was driving and visiting various sites wasn't a problem. However, apart form the closest attractions such as the Golden Triangle viewpoint and temple and the Opium Museum, which were walkable, anyone wanting to go into Chiang Saen or further would have to take a taxi or tour. When I arrived I was greeted by a friendly, english-speaking receptionist who checked me in quickly and efficiently. The first room, a double, was big, airy and clean with a balcony overlooking the front of the hotel. However, the bed was very hard and I requested a move to a room with a softer bed which was accommodated but the new room was not as nice and not as well lit. It was adequate however and quiet enough at night. The bathroom was basic and there were no toiletries provided which surprised me. Not even soap. There was also only one towel provided. Few hotels in this class in Northern Thailand provide a room safe and this was no exception. On the first day my room was not cleaned or the bed made up until I requested them to be done when I arrived back in the evening. There was breakfast included in the rate but it was poor and the service slow. It consisted of cold eggs, yoghurt and toast. There was no proper tea and I provided my own tea bags. The food at night in the restaurant was better and the staff great, but the menu was limited with no desserts avalailable. To be fair, I did try other restaurants in the area and they were similarly uninspiring. As a brief stop over place, this hotel would be okay as long as you didn't expect western standards. (It is very far north Thailand after all) and there are better htels for the same price. However, if you intend staying longer than a couple of days then I'd maybe look elsewhere. It's a shame really because the actual hotel and staff are fine. It was the service that let it down as far as I was concerned.
Nice, clean hotel, great location”
lovely stay, friendly staff, clean rooms! very good for that amount of money. i took a bus from chiangmai to this hotel. with the green bus you get across the street from the hotel. there are buses going from the hotel to chiangrai every hour until 6pm. after 6 you're pretty much stuck there. there is a huge golden buddha and a small market place. there are some restaurants nearby, but you also eat in the restaurant from the hotel which has good food.
Nice staff and good location ”
This was my 4th time there and I'm still satisfied
old and dirty hotel”
