As shown in the listing photos, we booked a room with a *city view*. However, upon arrival at the hotel around 7:30 PM, we were told that the hotel was nearly full and there were no higher-floor rooms available. Since it was already dark, we didn’t dwell too much on the view and quickly freshened up before heading out for dinner. Check-in was smooth. The lobby offers free lemon-infused iced water, and there are vending machines selling Starbucks coffee and orange juice. However, there were no doormen to assist with luggage, and there are a few steps at the entrance—though there is a ramp for wheeled luggage. The room was very comfortable—clean, with a cozy bed and pillows. The bathroom includes a bidet (not commonly found in Singapore), which was one of the reasons we chose this hotel. Amenities were complete: iron, ironing board, bathrobes, etc. The water pressure in the shower was excellent, although the design of the shower door caused slight leakage onto the bathroom floor. The next morning, we were shocked and disappointed by the view. It was definitely not a city view—just a pond with a few buildings in the background. You can refer to the attached photo. This was very disappointing and did not match the description of a "city view" room. If you’re booking for the city view, avoid room **#333**. We also noticed a sign on the desk informing guests of maintenance work on the 9th floor. Fortunately, we didn’t hear any noise, and our sleep wasn’t disturbed. **Checkout was smooth as well.** A staff member assisted with luggage storage and kindly asked if we needed help booking a taxi. The location is extremely convenient—just a 2-minute walk to the lift that leads directly to the MRT *Concierge* area (right across from the lobby next to Madam Bar). **Note that the lift is not available 24/7; it operates only during specific hours**, so plan ahead if you're arriving late or leaving very early. **Also, access card is required to reach your floor via the elevator, and between 00:00 – 06:00, you'll need it to re-enter the property.** This adds a layer of security, which we appreciated. **Overall, it was still a pleasant 4-night stay**. Great location, comfy room, and helpful staff—just a shame about the misleading view.

We only stayed at the Dorsett Hotel for two nights. The reception staff were kind enough to locate us on the same floor as our friends who had booked their room a few days earlier. We were located on the 10th floor with a great view of the city below us. The pool where we had a swim on our last evening, was easy to access, just down the elevator on the third floor. As we dried off, we stood on the balcony admiring the view over the parkland opposite. On our arrival we were given a voucher for a complementary drink at the hotel bar (called Madame), which we enjoyed with our friends after having dinner in nearby Chinatown (which is within walking distance). Our room was spotlessly clean & adequate in size, although privacy between the bedroom & bathroom was rather sketchy, which may be an issue for some guests. The water pressure in the shower was superb. The shower door when swung backwards also doubles as a door for the toilet area, which was an interesting concept. Dorsett Hotel is conveniently located directly above the Outram Park MRT which is an interchange for three rail lines. It is also just one station from Harbourfront where Vivocity provides access to Sentosa Island. We enjoyed our stay here & would have no hesitation in recommending Dorsett Hotel to others.

The location of this hotel is excellent. It's close to three lines of the MRT at the Outram station, also to plenty of bus lines gives easy access to lots of areas eg Gardens by the bay, civic center, little India, katong/joo chiat road. There are plenty of great restaurants, cafe and shops within a short walk. The Chinatown complex, and Maxwell complex are also walkable (10-15 minutes) but maybe not when it's really hot out. The hotel staff are courteous and the hotel itself is clean, with a modern decor, but does look old. Towels were a little threadbare, for example. But the room was quiet and I slept well. They have free wifi, laundry facilities, exercise room and a small pool. Except for the Wi-Fi which was very reliable, i didn't use any of the other amenities so can't speak about them. There's a restaurant/Cafe/bar on premise, but I didn't try them since there's so many great options within walking distance at various price points. When next I go back to Singapore, I will definitely consider this place again.

I needed a comfortable hotel close to the hospital and the Dorsett was perfect. The facilities were appealing, - upgraded to a deluxe king room, convenient laundry, pool, gym and rooftop garden with a great view. The room was clean, modern and spacious, with delightful interior styling. Most of all, the location perfect. Close to the hospital, close to Chinatown, convenient access to Outram MRT, situated in a charming colonial and modern setting at its doorstep in the Tanjong Pagar area. The Duxton Plain Park located nearby was a pleasant walk. Only 2 MRT stops from Harbourfront MRT and Vivocity Shopping Mall, which was a stone’s throw from Sentosa. I’d happily consider the hotel again even if I had no need to be close to the hospital.

The booking price was at a sale and i could say it's worth it as it is very near the MRT station with it's own elevator. Plus a nearby bus station is also available. Check in and out process is very simple and fast. Even though we didn't ask for our room to be cleaned, we always go home to a cleaned room. Thank you. Plus point to allowing its guest to leave their baggages for free for a few hours. This allows guests to roam around SG if they have extra time before their flight. They have a nice pool and free drinking water. I have a sensitive stomach and i can say that their water is clean bec i ddnt experienced diarrhea after trying it. The room is spacious. Love that they also have iron and iron board inside the room. Really convenient. Will stay here again when i go back to Singapore.

Best location as there is an elevator directly to the MTR with 3 lines! Also near a bus stop. There’s a Starbucks machine for your coffee fix, and a few vendo machines for some chips/snacks. There’s also a money changer in the lobby!! We had interconnecting rooms. The doors were a bit difficult to open but it was spacious, with complete amenities. Bed was super comfortable. And the most important deal for us was the bidet in the toilet!! 😅 Good selection for breakfast tho some are repeating daily but we don’t mind. May we suggest for chocolate drinks soon? 😊 Staff were very friendly and accommodating! Special mention to Philip who assisted us and also gave a few recommendations on where to dine at MBS. Something to improve on: the door handles coz it’s a bit tough to open. Dusts on the window/curtain. Flickering lights in the room. We had a pleasant stay at Dorsett Singapore! I will recommend this to our friends and looking forward to our next stay 😊

100% recommend Dorsett in Chinatown. Location cannot get anymore convenient. Acces to MRT station is literally 2 minutes walk from lobby with covered walkway. Or elevator access into the station with 3-MRT line connections. Couldn't get any easier. So many walking distance food options: Maxwell Food market only 10mins, famous durian dessert at 99 Old Trees 3mins, breakfast options 5mins. Rooms are spacious enough for 2 adults & 4 pc luggage, clean, all amenities provided including paid laundry, and in-house friendly pub. Staff are super friendly and helpful. Also one of the most affordable hotels in such a convenient location in Singapore

Beautiful lobby and pool, room is pretty standard - 2 extra pillows in the wardrobe is a nice touch and filtered water next to the tap is a welcome sight after traveling in Asia for months. I took a pic because it made me so happy to brush my teeth with filtered water and with ease. Also an eco-friendly way to refill your water bottle. About a ten minute walk to Chinatown and a 7-11, MRT station is a block away, lots of restaurants nearby and I walked back from Maxwell Hawker Center - nice sidewalks of course and about 20 minutes away on foot. About 10 SGD by taxi - which I took to get there during the rain. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Helped make suggestions for places to eat and how to get there.

Excellent hotel location since the Outram MRT station is just about a 5-minute walk away, and there’s even an MRT exit with an elevator that leads close to the hotel, which is very convenient. It’s also near Chinatown, so there are lots of food options around. Plus, it’s only one station away from Sentosa Island. The room was clean and modern, though a bit smaller than expected for the price. One thing to note is that the bathroom door doesn’t have a lock, but the shower had good water pressure. Overall, we had a pleasant stay. The staff were friendly, and we would definitely consider booking here again.
Our stay was absolutely wonderful! Yes, the room decor is a bit dated and the carpet isn’t the nicest, but everything was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. We had a small issue with our room and the staff handled it quickly and professionally by moving us to a new room right away. We had the best sleep of our entire trip – the room was quiet and dark, and the bed and pillows were incredibly comfortable! The location is perfect – right next to the train station and a short walk to Chinatown. There are also two 7-Eleven stores nearby, which made things super convenient

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The location is absolutely perfect—just a short walk from the metro station, which made getting around the city incredibly easy. Even with luggage, the walk was very manageable and convenient. The hotel also features a really nice swimming pool, which was a great place to relax after a long day of exploring. If you can get this hotel for a good price, it's good for convenience as it's above the Outram MRT and a short walk to Tanjong Pagar and Chinatown. I stayed in 2 rooms during my stay - one for 3 nights and 1 dayuse room. The room for the 3 nights wasn't great. The room was stuffy and smelt of mildew. The batteries in the safe and bathroom scale were dead. The DND and housekeeping lights also did not work. I was given another room for my dayuse that was much better with everything working and the air in the room clean. Facilities - the gym was very run down and equipment broken. There is a Starbucks machine and fresh juice machine in the foyer which was handy. Each room had a small vending machine which allowed you to buy cables, locks, umbrellas, bags, etc for a small price (would unlock code via QR code).

A very clean hotel with enough space (believe me Singapore can have exceptionally small hotel rooms). Near the MRT and bus stops. Also, restaurants, cafes and pubs nearby are also good and chic. Above all, the price is affordable!

I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights, and it was honestly one of the most uncomfortable stays I’ve ever had. There are a few pros: It was in-expensive and the location is very convenient, close to Chinatown and with easy access to the MRT. However, there were several issues that made the experience unpleasant. The facilities felt outdated, bathroom amenities were not provided unless requested, there was little bugs flying around, and there was a strange odour throughout. Most concerning was the cleanliness, it didn’t seem like the floors had been vacuumed, as there were many hairs on the floor that stuck to my feet and slippers. Overall, I would not stay here again. The hotel was definitely not 4-star by standard.

Upon check in, lady said we need to provide a credit card for the deposit that will be refunded upon check out. We don’t have credit cards, and they don’t accept cash because they’re going “cashless” - it’s very inconvenient. Much worse for people who never applied for a credit card. I told the lady I only have a debit card and luckily she accepted it and said they’ll only accept it this once, but not in the future. Just fyi for people. Hotel, please make things more easier for people. Other than that, room is clean and spacious. Hotel is near MRT, and walking distance to people’s park centre (China town)

Our room has some maintenance issues. Needed a deep clean. No soap. One towel. Phone didn't work. Having said that we slept really well! Didn't try the pool as we didn't get time and only stayed one night. For one night it was fine. Didn't eat it as it's only 5 min walk to Maxwell and Chinatown Hawker centres.

3-minute walk from the MRT — very convenient location. The rooms are small but still acceptable for a city stay. However, the gym facilities are a huge letdown for a hotel under Dorsett’s brand. Many dumbbells and kettlebells are missing, equipment is poorly maintained, and only the cardio machines seem to work properly. Even the adjustable bench is very old and worn out. Breakfast was disappointing — very limited variety, almost the same every day, and not worth the price charged. The orange-striped towels also make the hotel look less premium, lowering the standard expected from a 4-star property. Beds and pillows are far too soft, which left most of us with neck and shoulder pain after a few nights. On the positive side: the swimming pool is excellent, staff are friendly and helpful, and the location is truly great. Overall: good location and nice pool, but the poor gym, weak breakfast, and uncomfortable bedding really drag the experience down.

Had black mould in the bathroom, but once I reported it to the staff, they responded promptly and moved us to a different room. Location is great, right above the traffic station. Chinatown is fun to walk around in. Expensive, but that’s all of Singapore compared to the surrounding countries. The pool is lovely. Minor blemishes like leaky shower doors, drab interior, and the fact that the room had one set of towels despite having two guests? The latter issue occurred even after we reached the second room. Each time we had to ask for a second set of towels. Overall, a reasonable choice despite wishing some things were better.

Room 732 layout is terrible shape to sell as a hotel room. The shape is truncated at one side of the wall making any hotel guest would feel uneasy. Besides there is no bedside table to both sides of the bed . Shower hose leaks constantly which should be replaced immediately upon cleaner does the room make-up and the iron appliance charger with screws loosening which is unattended could cause potential electrical spark.

Mid range hotel with appropriate price. Hotel management provided room upgrade courtesy of reunion committee contact. Thank you. Central location next to MRT. Good size room, clean and has adequate amenities. Couple of TV stations like CNA had poor sound volume. Young man cleaning the room was helpful and pleasant. Reception staff were very welcoming. Breakfast and buffet dinner were excellent . Very happy with this choice.

Irene and Rommel were super helpful and welcoming. They made our little family feel very comfortable during our stay. We enjoyed the convenience of the location around the corner from the MRT and moments away from Chinatown and many many food options. Room is quite big for SIngapore Standards and clean. Location is perfect. Just above Outram park MRT station which is connecting 3 lines + Walking distance (10min to CHinatown and MAxwell Hawkers. Faiclities : Swimming pool is very nice. Issues : -Electric plugs in the room are not very convenient. No plugs at the desk level + plugs on one side of the bed that is very loose. -Breakfast is very disappointing for the price(No fresh fruit juice + bad eggs cooking + Not much variety)

The location is convenient, specially if you plan to seek consult at NCCS. There is an elevator nearby the lobby that goes straight down to the MRT station, making it easy to access the bridge way via the MRT to NCCS without walking under the sun. It may take about a 8-10min walk to get to a hawker center though. The rooms are clean. Bidet is available. You have a filtered water tap at your disposal beside your faucet. The staff truly stands out with their exceptional service, always ready to assist. Our fridge was not working when we arrived and we had medication that needed to be kept cold so the staff replaced our fridge in a heart beat. In room Wi-Fi connection is reliable, which is a big plus. Overall, it has been a pleasant place to stay.

This hotel was so convenient because it had direct access from the mrt. there was literally an elevator on the mrt that had a sign saying to dorsett singapore. beautiful rooms though quiet small it was very clean and overall well kept. the staff were helpful and lovely! they were very willing to help out with any inquiries we needed. amazing experience with dorsett.

Pros - Good size room for Singapore Comfortable Bed Impressed with the water filter for drinking water Clear picture on the TV Cons - I couldn't get any hot water in the shower in the evening and when I complained I was asked to leave it running for 15 minutes! Hardly Eco! The hair dryer wouldn't stretch far enough so I could see through a mirror. However a replacement was sent to the room which did the trick. Some of the sockets didn't work

Excellent location. Just next to Outrum MRT station. Short walk to Chinatown and Tanjong Pagar for all the great and cheap local foods. The only issue with the hotel is the TV remote control. The batteries were replaced once by the room service but did not seem to work almost immediately. We just leave it as it is throughout the stay. Other than that, all is good.

We only stayed one night but wish we had more nights here. Hotel is lovely and the service is wonderful. Rooms are clean and spacious. We got an upgrade to a loft room and we loved it. Location is super...close to the MRT station. Within 5 minutes walk. Would love to stay here again on our next visit to Singapore.

We recently stayed at Dorsett Singapore and had a mixed experience. While I understand that early check-in is subject to availability, I was hoping it could be accommodated, especially since the hotel’s check-out time is earlier than usual at 11am, compared to the more common 12pm at other hotels. The room felt a bit outdated, somewhat dusty, and quite small—even for just two people. It was functional, but not particularly comfortable if you're planning to spend a lot of time indoors. That said, the location is excellent—very close to Chinatown, MRT stations, and a variety of food options. If you're traveling on a budget and prioritizing location, this could still be a reasonable choice. With some updates and better room maintenance, the overall guest experience could be significantly improved.

Best on this hotel is the excellent location. Can walk to China Town which is just few min. walk. MRT directly at the hotel. I would give a better review if hotel will keep the gym in better conditions. Most of the weights are gone and the cable machine is broken. Each day (used gym for 6 days in 7 days stay) they just switch on 1 of the 2 A/C at gym. It's super hot and stuffy. Staff at reception bit disappointing. We had 3 individual bookings from 3rd December till 15th December. At check-in the lady said key will be till 15th December. Not surprising this wasn't the case. We had to go 2 more times at reception to get new keys :-(. Lose of time for nothing

Overall Dorsett Singapore Hotel along New Bridge Rd. is within 5 mins. walking distance to the Outram MRT which is served by 3 major train lines ( Green, Red and Purple ）which cross-cross the urban shopping areas, exotic cafes, local eateries (eg. Maxwell Food Centre), and business areas where a myriad head offices of foreign enterprises are located.

Room: Huge difference from the clean and newly renovated lobby. Room is lacking some maintenance and it looks pretty old and used up. Location: very close to the station, super convenient. China town is walkable distance. Absolutely perfect location. Breakfast: Very basic, buffet style but there's not much to choose from. Highly recommend you to walk to those local breakfast places nearby instead, they're just around the corner and in a very manageable distance.

Location is the best on that hotel. MRT is directly at the hotel. Few min. walk to China town. A/C is not working well. Bathroom is a joke as it's almost impossible to open shower door without open first the bathroom door. Wardrobe door is also the door to bathroom. Never seen such a silly set-up. Gym needs a refresh. In general Gym is fine however many free weights are missing. Cable machine not working. With less than 500SGD this gym can easily be brought up to date which will give a normal guest experience, now it's just a joke

I was very happy with the excellent customer service at the Dorsett. The manager who worked at night was exceptional and all the staff at reception were very helpful. They were very accommodating and made our stay comfortable. We chose this location as we wanted to be near SGH.

We like the location of the hotel which is close to the China town and the MRT station. There are ample choices of different type of restaurant around. I wrote a email to the hotel on the concerns: 1. Bath towels are old and fray - we received newer towels on the next day housekeeping service. 2. Mildew on the shower stall, wasn't corrected thru the stay, perhaps it was not directed to the Housekeeping dept. Positive: - One of the doorman (0lder) is friendly, I forgot to ask his name. - I like the hotel has a coin laundry facility though we did not use it. - The bed and the pillows are comfortable. The weight of the duvet is just right for the Singapore climate. Well chosen. - Great location and close to the MRT station which make it very easy to get around the city. - Housekeeping does a fantastic job in maintaining the public areas. Overall we have a pleasant stay.

It was a nice stay at this hotel when me and my colleague stayed for five nights in our business trip. The room was not too big but clean and tidy. The staffs are very helpful and friendly. Easy access to everywhere especially when you had MRT access just under the hotel. The Most memorable moment when we had foodie tour at day 1 on our first stay. We thought it would be paid but actually totally complimentary and good foods! Thank you for your hospitality Dorsett hotel and for sure we will visit you again.

Great location, nice (small) room, the shower could've been cleaned properly when I arrived and used it. Value for money - I feel is just OK. The Gym seemed OK but neglected and didn't look like it was attended to daily. Staff were great. No information in the room about the facilities of the Hotel. Worth a look.

It’s perfectly placed above Outram MRT and close to all key locations in Singapore including Clarke Quay, Boat Quay and China town. Easy access to Orchard and Sentosa too. Place is clean. Rooms are maybe in the smaller side but this is less of a priority for me vs location/price. I will be back!

This Stay was very Pleasant. Hotel is clean and Staff is very helpful. Breakfast is good but they can have some variation as it was repetitive. Hotels is dot above Outram MRT Station . Take Exist D and you will find direct elevator , Left hand said is Hotel . All in it is good stay . Recommended..

Good access to MRT and buses. Interesting architecture and old buildings within walking distance. Close to good restaurants. Room clean and tidy. Breakfast choice was good. Some areas could use an upgrade but this did not detract from an enjoyable stay. We would stay there again.

The second time within the same week, we checked into Dorsett Singapore. Again we had another lovely stay. We were given a nice room on the 3rd level with a balcony/outdoor seating area where the pond/fishes are. Waking up to a nice serene view was a priviledge, and we could not be happier with the service given to us by this one malay charming gentleman who attended to our booking on the day my husband checked in. (unfortunately hubby didn't get his name for us to mention it here). This young gentleman has extended to us utmost courtesy, excellent professional service that we both truly appreciate and which makes our stay at the Dorsett Singapore wonderful and a memorable one. Really enjoyed my stay here! Super easy to get around with transport nearby, extra points for the bus stop and mrt station right in front of the hotel, the bathroom was clean and well-equipped with Elemis amenities, and the overall convenience made everything hassle-free. Overall our stay is okay. The hotel is okay . The location is very accessible as it is few meters away from MRT. we had a very relaxing stay except when the concept of the room's toilet became your pet peeve. 1st, if you are someone like me who is on a plus size, you will practically need to open the toilet door in order for you to be able to get out of the shower area because the shower door opens outwardly. its such a weird and impractical door positioning. which i can't help but wonder if someone ever considered using sliding door instead for the shower area? 2nd, the toilet window and cabinet shares the same half sliding door. so either you will expose whatever is inside your cabinet to close the toilet side or close the cabinet and in effect you expose yourself every time you use the toilet and that is on top of the gap opening that is permanently there even if you close the toilet side with cabinet door.

The hotel's location is excellent—just a short walk to the MRT station and very close to the vibrant Duxton area and the charming streets of Chinatown. Perfect spot for exploring the city! The room size is standard but comfortable enough for a small family. It had everything we needed for a short stay. However, the room did feel a bit damp, and there was a small leak, possibly from the air conditioning. It didn’t ruin our experience, but it’s something that could be improved. Overall, a good stay if you're prioritizing location and convenience.
