Needs to be updated”
Looking a bit old.
Look at the Stars... This is Not a 3 star just 2 and I am Nice. ”
The Thai day staff are great and it Stops there. I would strongly recommend that you stay somewhere else in Town. If you want a Resort then just down the street is the place for You. I am now a resident of Rai but had to stay here for a few days and my stay was terrible. The place was Nice at 1 time but it is now fallen in disrepair and to keep it making money they are renting out the rooms for apartments. The grounds are a mess and there was No hot water in my room. I have was told by the desk that it was fixed but that was not true. The breakfast was something that I could have passed on and the best thing was the toast and the Bread was a bit Old. The selection was pretty sad. I just don't have anything really nice to say except the bed was comfortable and the Thai day staff were really nice. I will Never refer or stay here again. The end...
Adequate Condition For Local Hotel”
Quiet and Spacious property. Huge parking lot for drivers and bikers. Row of pubs and food stalls 15 minutes walk to the main road. The room is spacious. And somewhat clean. Should change the towels. Affordable.
Private with covered parking
Got this room for next to nothing and got next to nothing for what I paid.. I didnt expect much and thats what I got. This place would have been fine if I could have made a coffee in the room instead of walking over to the reception. So for the price it was ok. It had good aircon, a bath and a shower, even though the grout around the tiles were black with mould.
The owner and employees are excellents!
Hotel looks deserted. Staff- well.... Asked for an extra pillow, but was told 50 baht. Not able to open room door without pushing real hard (using body weight!). Told the staff and was told to just give it a real push! They don't want to change another room. This kind of experience in a hotel. Will never want to go back stay again.
Golden Land Hotel”
Apon arrival we were greeted by staff who I could swear was there first time in a hotel. The Bell man apparently also doubles as a police officer. We gathered this but the police holster belt which included hand cuffs, pepper spray and a radio. Luckily we only were there for the night. It's very private as we were the only guests staying that night. If you want something cheap and want to have a good laugh, stay at the Golden land hotel!
Budget hotel suitable for short stay only....”
We stayed here for a short stay in Chiang Rai to visit family. This hotel is budget with only basic facilities and suitable for short stay. The hotel is ageing and has only basic rooms as expected for the price. If you're after a BASIC comfortable stay in Chiang Rai for a short time, I would choose this hotel.
NIce quiet location with friendly staff.”
I read here that they have bungalow type rooms, and I opted for that. Nice parking space, and good sized room. The staff were very friendly. The hotel is located in a very quiet part of town, and was easy to get to by motorcycle or car.
NIce Friendly Hotel & Staff ”
Enjoy your stay here. Quiet and friendly. A little off the main road but offers good rooms at a good price with a nice cafe. If you want the noisey beat of a city this is not your hotel. If you like a quiet place to enjoy within reach of the noise and attractions you will like this hotel.
Deprimerad personal och väldigt gamla rum. ”
Dyrt dessutom !!
stay was good. Hotel is nice and convenient. ”
stay was good. Hotel is nice and convenient. Staff is friendly
This hotel is the kind of hotel you see on horror films. Vast but nobody inside. The staff was nice but didn't know anything about what to do around. Mold on the wall, no pression in the shower and quite cold water...
First sight: "is this place abandoned???"”
I wouldn't recommend anyone staying here. First of all, the photos of place are radically different from it's current condition, so you'll be a little confused when you arrive. The staff weren't helpful, the internet in the lobby is poor (no wifi in rooms and nothing at all worked "for macs"). It's a bit of a walk from the main part of the city (but not terrible), which would be fine if there was anything interesting around - and our shower was broken. Cable TV is great if you're interested in any of the 8 channels in Thai. There are many other places to choose from, so take the time and review all of your options before booking this place.
Not So Golden”
Having seen the pictures of this hotel on the net before booking, I was quite disappointed with the sight that greeted me upon arrival. Both outside and inside the hotel looked like it was abandoned before the final touches were made. However, my room was clean, quiet and functional which was really all that mattered to me. The location seemed a bit lonely and out of the way which is no problem if you have your own transport. Breakfast was an absolute shambles. The dining room was a mess and the staff didn't seem to know what to do. The food on offer was very poor. Eat out or bring your own. Having said all that though, for the sale price it wasn't too bad. If I had paid the full amount I would have been most unhappy.
not so interesting.”
No english speaking stsff. Very noicy place. People comming and going the most of the night. Brrakfast was a bad experience. There was no coffee, no juice, only water. This hotel is not worth the money paid for it. And the staff did not really care. The hotel did not have a restaurant but breakfast was served in a launch. WIFI was not working in general.
Practical but lacking in character ”
This hotel was fine, no real complaints (except maybe breakfast), but it did nothing to stand out. The hotel was big and felt very empty which isn't bad but was a bit weird. Lobby decor ranged from Egyptian papyrus prints to framed Disney movie puzzles, but the room was not decorated. It was clean and functional but very plain with no character. I got the impression other guests were students in Chiang Rai and international guests were a little uncommon. The staff were friendly enough but had quite limited English; in a mix of English and Thai we sorted out everything we needed to. The cable tv had no English channels which we didn't really need or expect, but it would be nice if Agoda could indicate this. The breakfast was more than just the toast and jam some places offer, but was still underwhelming. Fried rice (which was a little under cooked), egg, and hotdogs. Once there was a bug in the rice, but that was probably just bad luck that day. Golden Land is fine as a practical place to stay, but for a holiday there are better value options. At 550 baht it wasn't expensive for Agoda, but we found much better value places elsewhere.
if this was a three star hotel elvis is alive”
golden land hotel, i booked this hotel because two the better class hotels were full, it was three star, very good breakfast, wi-fi in every room restaurant, none of these thing were true, they did have a room for breakfast open from 7-0 am io-0 am. on tuesday morning went down to breakfast 8-3o am, to find breakfast was closed, after knocking on the door some one came and open the restaurant for me, food marks out 10 would give 2, one thing i'm very sure of they never found me a room with wi-fi in, or in any other place, sorry i can not find anything good to say, about golden land hotel, will not be going back there.
spacious grounds, service could be upgraded”
don't look for star rated services here; need to professionalize. rooms are big and clean; not fancy. free wifi. hot shower. helpful staff. located about 5 minutes by tuktuk from the main streets. good for thai family with car. expensive at Bt/night (high season rate perhaps).
