I found this spot when I found out both my mother and my sister, her husband, and their two kiddos (under two and four) were coming in late November, right before American Thanksgiving. The family with little kids took a deluxe family room. My mom and I took a combo of a triple and then moved to a deluxe king room just to get the best price possible since it was all good to us. It's kind of mindblowing to transpose the price for a night in any room here onto what that price would get in the U.S. All three room types I just mentioned were huuuuge. They were all carpeted, but the carpet was devoid of stains and had that squeaky clean, dry, dustless feeling underfoot. The beds were supremely comfortable, and piled high with a down comforter and feather pillows. There were no really sharp angles or other hazards. The bathrooms had hard tile, but the tile was not slippery. This became our home away from home. The staff roamed the halls constantly cleaning whenever people requested. We took it easy with the cleanings, but they smiled and greeted us and cooed at the kids when we passed, so we kind of grew attached to them. Additionally, everything was all gussied up for Christmas so we grew attached to the hotel itself. One side of the hotel faces a less iconic part of the city, which is fine because in exchange for this, there are fewer high rises right in your face so you can see farther. All the deluxe family rooms, on the other hand, face Sejong-ro, the grand thruway where Gwanghwamun plaza with its statues of King Sejong (who invented the Korean alphabet to accelerate literacy for anyone who learns it) and medieval naval hero and iron-clad "turtle" ship engineer Admiral Yi Sun-sin mainlines into Gyeongbokgung (palace). The ancient city walls encircling old Seoul and immemorial mountains of Bugaksan, Bukhansan, and so forth preside behind it all, and you can see a good deal of that, plus the engineering feat and environmental restoration miracle of Cheonggyecheon stream. If you turn your head another way, you can see Seoul Tower on Namsan. All the iconic things within a short walk. Right outside the hotel is an alley with a major bank, two convenience stores, and several cafes as well as traditional foods. Practically everything worth seeing about the city - the aforementioned sites plus Gwangjang Market, Insadong traditional shops, Myeongdong, etc. are all walkable. The fancy brunch was definitely worth doing at least once. They have you order a meal but it's barely a meal and the real meal is a very intense Western buffet but with a few Asian food selection and endless packets of nato Japanese soybeans and cup ramen for the taking. I could go on and on about how luxe yet how unpretentious this place felt at the same time, but I'll end with one example of our final day there. The baby had developed a nasty cough overnight and all hell was breaking loose while everyone was trying to figure out departure. So, auntie was assigned to go out and try and find some cereal for them. But of course the convenience stores had mostly junk foods and sugary snacks/desserts, not American-type cereal even if those are also sugary crap. Realizing I was crossing a line (I've worked in food service before and it's freaking unbelievable what customers with kids ask for for their kids), I couldn't resist going to the buffet for help because I knew they had hella cereal. It was still slightly before opening time, so luckily I wasn't interrupting the hostess too much when I begged for some cereal and even offered to pay some informal amount (as if they'd accept that). The hostess said she had to ask her manager, and walked out. This was our second visit to Seoul, and the Koreana Hotel was the final stay of our trip — a fantastic way to finish, and an excellent farewell to the city. We stayed in a Premier King, which was generously sized at 36 m² (388 ft²) and offered a pleasant city view. The room was spotlessly clean, quiet, and extremely comfortable. The king-size bed was excellent, and the air-conditioning worked flawlessly — a real blessing after long days exploring Seoul. We booked a couple of months in advance and paid an exceptional *** per night. For a five-star hotel, this represented outstanding value for money, particularly given the room size, quality, and overall standard compared with other options in the area. The staff were truly exceptional — friendly, professional, and genuinely helpful. Most staff spoke and understood English well, and the 24-hour front desk was both reassuring and convenient. Whenever we asked for directions or advice, staff were knowledgeable and more than happy to assist. The hotel facilities were another highlight. Everywhere we went, the hotel had a subtle and pleasant signature fragrance that added to the sense of quality and calm. There is a well-maintained self-service kitchen and coin-operated laundry, with coins readily available from the front desk at any time — a very practical and thoughtful touch for travellers. The location suited our itinerary perfectly. Numerous bus services are located within around 400 metres, providing easy access across Seoul. The immediate surrounding area is also filled with excellent shopping options, all within easy walking distance. Overall, this was the standout stay of our trip, and we would not hesitate to return. The Koreana Hotel delivers outstanding quality, and if you can secure a great rate, it becomes even better value. Very highly recommended.

The location of the hotel is great. It is walking distance to Deoksugung and Gyeongbukgung palace, Lotte Department store and Myeongdong area. It has a bus stop for the limousine bus to and from the airport so you don’t have to worry when traveling with large suitcases. But, the downside is that the location is in the financial area and there are a lot of scheduled rallies lately. So when the timing of your travel time align with the rally time, then you need to change your bus stop. It will be a hassle to do so if you have big luggages. So I recommend reaching out to the hotel first to know the schedule of the rallies. We arrived there early before checkin time and they offered an early checkin with a fee. We took on the offer since we lacked sleep. It was a good deal and we were refreshed because of that. Regarding the room, it was big and clean. They provided shampoo, conditioner and shower gel but they never provided toothpaste and toothbrush all throughout our 7-nights stay. The bathroom has separate bath tub and shower area and toilet bowl on the side. Too bad, water leaked to the sink area every time we showered. They don’t have a good build or design to the area. Another negative thing I want to complain was the conditioner. It was not fill to the brim on our first day and they never refilled them even if it almost run out. It was very hard to squeeze which was a hassle unlike the shampoo and shower gel which were fine. You cannot control the air conditioning unit in the room. You can only turn on the fan or try to lower the temperature but eventually, it will change to the original setting that the hotel set. So when we were there, we just opened the vent in the room so the cold air from outside can come inside, cause it’s hot in the room if we didn’t do that. The hallways always smelled good and you can always see cleaners and their supplies from morning till afternoon.

I have checked Agoda for a place that my family will stay in Seoul. We already experienced one in the middle of the Myeondong Area 10 years ago and we wanted to try a different hotel with great amenities, near the shopping areas, palaces, train stations bus stop and with a reasonable price and we discovered Koreana Hotel. Bus 6701 stops in front of the. No more worries carrrying your big luggages in stations and stairs. The lobby is big with a CU store and Paul Basset nearby. It is also near the City Hall and Lotte Dept. Store. We got the Premium family room, its big for the four of us. The toilet is equipped with electonic bidet and shampoo and conditioner smells good. It’s a plus that we have two free Americanos everyday at the hotel restaurant since we booked the premium room which is by the way situated on the 17th floor. The vicinity is the business area of Myeondong. We have a good view of the Seoul Finance Center. We also used the microwave and the coin operated washing machine and dryer in the 22th floor. And my daughter worked out in their nice and big gym. The beds and pillows are comfortable. The staff are helpful specially Charlie. Overall, we recommend Koreana Hotel for those who wanted to escape the busy Myeondong shopping areas.

We’re a Muslim family of 4 from Singapore, with teens. We chose Koreana and it was an awesome choice for so many reasons. Location is supreme with airport bus 6701 right out the doorstep, City Hall (Blue and Green lines) and Gwanghwamun (Purple line) just about 5min walk away. In fat attractions are within 15-20min walking distance as well, like Insadong, Myeongdong, Gyeongbukgung palace and so on. We love the 22 floor for the laundry and ice and microwave. Room is REALLY spacious and AC system was good. Staff are so friendly and you always see the cleaning ladies hard at work. Food wise, halal food not readily available but Muslim friendly options are plenty from the CU right beside the entrance and the many other convenience stores peppering the location. Jojo Kalguksu is 5min away by bus and Myeongdong’s food are easily heated up at level 22 (bring your own container from home). The only downside is the street in front of the hotel - there’s always some sort of rally or protest or demonstration going on; some short ones some whole day and can be quite loud and overwhelming at times. But all in all a worthwhile stay! 10/10!

The location is good as the hotel is walkable to places such as the palaces, Myeongdong, Gwangjang Market, or can take buses to these places at the nearby bus-stops. The City Hall station is nearby and the green line 2 goes to Hongdae and Dongdaemun. There are nice eateries, cafes and restaurants nearby but some close quite early. There’s a CU and Paul Basset at the hotel, easy to grab a quick snack or drink. The airport limousine 6701 is directly in front of the hotel so it’s very convenient. The room is spacious and clean, and the bed is comfortable. Have to bring own toiletries as the hotel only provides shared shampoo, conditioner and shower gel in the bathtub/shower. There are 2 washing machines and 2 dryers on the 22nd floor. 1000 won for a pack of detergent and dry sheets, 5000 won each per wash or dry. There’s an ironing board in the laundry area too. The staff was kind enough to oblige to my request of a room change so my stay was good. I did call the reception to complain about hearing people running and making noises after midnight, I assume they did reach out to the guest(s) as the running and noises stopped shortly after my call.

"I stayed here in January 2026 and couldn't have asked for a better location. If you’re visiting Seoul for the sights, you’re literally steps away from Gwanghwamun Square and City Hall. We were even able to walk to Myeongdong for street food and shopping in under 15 minutes. The highlight for me was the room size. Compared to the tiny, cramped rooms you usually find in central Seoul, our room at the Koreana felt massive. The large bay windows provided a stunning view of the city center—it was particularly magical watching the snow fall over the palace gates from the warmth of our room. A few practical tips for fellow travelers: Transport: The K-Limousine airport bus stops right in front of the hotel. It saved us a huge amount of stress (and heavy lifting) on our first and last days. Convenience: There is a CU convenience store attached to the lobby. It’s perfect for grabbing quick breakfasts or late-night drinks. The Vibe: It is a 'classic' hotel, so don't expect ultra-modern minimalist decor. However, everything is impeccably clean, and the beds are incredibly comfortable. The staff were professional and spoke excellent English, which made check-in a breeze. For the price and location, it's easily one of the best values in the city. I will definitely be booking here again for my next trip!"

Location is great ( No, not in the shopping district but rather located in City Hall area. ( Area is safe and quiet) Staff are exceptional helpful ( insight on when / how to go to for my meetings in Seoul There was a paid bus service at the ICN ( Incheon airport) and drop you off about 5 minutes near the hotel (at night time vs day time drop you off in front of the hotel) for a affordable price. Save you the hassel of taking the Airport Express to the Central station and take a taxi to the hotel) The bus is equpipped with a big leather chair ( even a big fellow has no problem to fit) has gym ( didn't use it) and sauna ( was small but exceptional clean everything in the room works / room are a bit classic but they refurished few years ago. I am a light sleeper and the sound proof at this hotel is good. If you are looking for shopping and night life - go for hotels in Myeongdong If you are looking for business hotel / or your meetings are located around City Hall area ( look it up on the Seoul subway station map) , with quiteness for sleep to recharge - this could be your hotel.

The hotel entrance gives off a sleek, modern vibe with its black facade and revolving doors, very city chic. Staff spoke English, which made things easier for tourists figuring their way around. But the vibe did a little time warp once we got to our room floor. The polished modern feel faded into a kind of faded grandeur, like the remnants of a once-glamorous era designed for the bougie elite of yesteryears. Not exactly the aesthetic of 2025, but hey, they’ve clearly put effort into keeping it all in good condition. Some corners look a bit tired, but everything was clean and well-maintained. Our room was spotless, and the bathroom, straight out of a 1970s royal suite, was surprisingly comfortable. Sure, there were signs of age, but the power shower more than made up for it. A proper blast of water pressure can fix almost anything. Bonus points for the gym, it was modern, well-equipped, and perfect for staying hot and snatched while on holiday. The in-house spa looked freshly refurbished and was a lovely way to soothe tired muscles, all for a very reasonable KRW 10,000. And let’s not forget the convenience: getting from Incheon Airport was a breeze thanks to the K Limousine bus, which dropped us right at the hotel’s front door. For the price and prime location, this place delivers where it counts.

I had a truly delightful stay at this hotel. I visited with my mother, and she enjoyed the experience just as much as I did. Our room was remarkably spacious compared to many nearby hotels, and the beds were exceptionally comfortable, allowing for a very restful stay. Some guests have commented that the facilities feel somewhat dated, but personally this did not concern me at all—I am quite accustomed to the understated charm often found in European hotels. 😆 What truly made our stay memorable was the outstanding hospitality of the staff. We loved what the hotel offered, umbrella when it rained, a pocket wifi to rent for just $5 a day, discounts at the restaurants there, Korean traditional clothing rental so we can easily rent and go to Kyeong Bok Palace, free gym trial. There are several restaurants in the hotel, a 24 hour convenience store and a coffee shop. This is older hotel so amenities are outdated but very well kept and good quality still, the rooms are very spacious and the beds are comfortable. The only issue we had was noise level, it is located right by city hall so every time we stay here, there is a some kind of protest during the day so it can get very loud for several hours during the day and at times, the roads are closed so you have to use the subway and walk a bit.

We were able to secure a room for the weekend at a good price, cheaper than most weekends. When we arrived, we found out there were demonstrations and a large gathering right in front of the hotel, which was probably why the rate was cheaper. Good thing we had planned to leave the car parked and use public transportation. The hotel is centrally located near famous sights, shopping, and restaurants, most of which are within walking distance. We didn’t have major complaints—just a small inconvenience with parking that didn’t have hotel access and the demonstration that was a little loud. We didn’t purchase breakfast since it was a bit expensive, but there are plenty of food options nearby. Overall, we would stay again and recommend it to our friends.

Koreana Hotel is something of a legend in Seoul. I’ve read a few reviews claiming it’s outdated or not clean enough, and I’d politely—but firmly—disagree. Yes, the hotel is a bit dated, but in a charming, traditional way. My room was spotless, and the bedding, pillows, and mattress were all exceptionally comfortable and pleasant to the touch. The staff were professional and courteous throughout my stay. And the location? Easily one of the best in Seoul. Since the city is quite decentralized, staying here makes it easy to reach any point of interest by bus or subway. I’ve visited Seoul countless times and even lived there for a while, and by many measures, Koreana Hotel ranks among my best stays.

My wife and I were travelling to Seoul along with a couple of our friends and we booked Koreana Hotel. Given its proximity to subway station, myeongdong market, and Gyeongbokgung Palace made it an ideal choice for us. The staff was super hospitable and helpful (The reception executive even helped us booked cab to airport given there was a procession on the day we were leaving seoul), the rooms were clean and proper. In fact, we were very pleased with the room size too (it was exactly how it was described on the website). i most definitely recommend Koreana Hotel. I had an exceptional stay here.

This is a great place to stay and walking proximity to Gwanghwamun! The staff and level of service before and during my stay was detailed and exceptional. The room has all the amenities you’ll need including hair dryer, fridge, safe, complimentary water and coffee. Simple things but essential after a long flight. Easy access to airport bus 6701 which drops you off at the corner of the hotel! CU convenient store next door to hotel to get snacks and T-money card & top up. Most importantly, hotel staff speaks English. I feel safe the entire time traveling solo and arriving in the evening. I will come back and stay here again. Highly recommended if you want to be around the city center!

We decided to go to Koreana Hotel for the main reason that the hotel is very near Gwanghwamun Square and the price has dropped at that time. We arrived at around 10 am (KST) in Koreana Hotel. It was a very early flight hence tiring. But, the staff graciously asked us if we want to check-in early but for a very minimal fee. That was fabulous! We didn’t need to ask or beg, they initiated! Of course, we accepted! We were very delighted because we are dying to have that rest before our journey to enjoy the event for BTS. The room is very clean, nice and cozy. By the way, our window was a Hanok style window. And it has a space were you can sit and relax while zoning out at the window. The staff were nice and very accommodating.

The bathtub area is not too clean, and the staff did not advise the 22nd flr where the laundry and microwave are undergoing renovation. It was nice though to offer free breakfast after the water was not available at night on my 2nd night
