Excellent hotel. I would very highly recommend Le Meridien Chiang Mai ”
The service was exceptional. Fantastic location. Rooms were very spacious, comfortable and very beautiful. A wide range of variety for breakfast which was lovely. All of the facilities were wonderful. I would recommend this hotel to anyone heading to Chiang Mai. THANK YOU
Nice and convenient place in Chiang Mai”
The location of the hotel is just right behind night market, customer service is excellent, room is comfy and clean. The toiletry the hotel provide is in good quality. Enjoy my stay in the hotel for 4 night
Solid business hotel in entertainment district”
I was here for two nights on business. The location is great - right near the night bazaar with plenty of restaurants nearby. The staff is friendly, helpful and efficient. The breakfast buffet is very good, although the coffee is mediocre and served in cups that are too small (note to hotels - provide larger coffee cups and then your guests won't have to spend half their breakfast trying to flag down staff for refills). The gym is well equipped, but somewhat small and with no space to stretch properly. Overall, a good experience and much better than the Dusit Princess where I had previously stayed.
Lovely stay ”
We enjoyed our stay here. The staff were lovely. The room was very nice with a panoramic view of the mountains. I will say that check in & check out took forever. We ate in the restaurant both nights & the food was excellent with great service. Breakfast was another story.... on morning 1, they had run out of papaya leaving only dragon fruit or pineapple as the fruit choice. I stood for 10 mins at the egg station waiting for 2 poached eggs. I eventually sat down without them. The hot plates with the western breakfast with baked beans etc looked revolting ..... dried up & not at all inviting. The Asian breakfast looked much better. The toaster didn’t toast the bread even after going through twice. Morning 2 was better, at least I got eggs & there was a choice of fruit but still not up to Le Meridien standard
Pros: Prime location for shopping, food and center of city; Neatly maintained; good welcoming staff at the reception and entrance; Nice breakfast. Cons: Staff response at breakfast is not good, little rude; Overall the stay was good and strongly recommend to stay at this hotel for those people who are looking for shopping and food.
Excellent Hotel (Part of the Marriott Group) next to the night market”
The hotel was excellent and due to the low season verry affordable at around CHF 100 / USD 100 per night (a bit less than double the price of a hotel across the streer where I would never stay again). I was lucky and got a mountain view room on the 10th or 11th floor with a panorama window the full size of the room's width. The view was amazing. The room was well cleaned and toilettries replaced daily. I was surprised that no cotton buds and dental kits were provided automatically, but you could certainly get them if requested. The staff was very friendly, professional and helpful aiding with requests. The only thing I was missing and that could not be installed in this room was the standard sprayhose in the toilet which was really unfortunate. I was offered to change rooms but did not want to sacrifice the mountainview for the sprayhose... Oh the one free Illy Coffee per day at Lattitude 18 Bar in the lobby (used to take tha cappucino) was really outstanding. The hotel is modern.
Panoramic View and Perfect Croissant ”
Opt for the Doi Suthep/ Mountain view room and the panoramic view is yours. We enjoyed the view of the temples both Doi Suthep in front and Doi Kham to the left, and as airplane enthusiasts, we loved watching planes taking off and landing day and night. Apart from the view, we found that the plain croissant served during breakfast was one of the best, not just in Chiang Mai, but in Thailand.
Excellent location whereas restaurants and night markets are all around you”
Only 10mins walk to local markets, super great!
Staff are excellent. They make your stay special.....good breakfast...(although no porridge oats or baked ham unlike the Bangkok hotel)
A cosy and clean hotel with all the amenities. Service is superb. ”
All pros and no cons for all the services. I would especially like to compliment our room attendant , Sayfon T who always keep our room clean and tidy. Her working attitude and commitment are highly commendable.
EXCELLENT LOCATION AND SERVICE”
Hotel has good location in terms of restaurants and night market, next to hotel. Excellent service from the hotel staff right from the concierge . Very friendly hotel staff and no hesitation of helping whenever you can approach any of them.
Great location and good coffee ”
Hotel location is close to Street souvenir shopping, dinning, fruits and presents. Also free shuttle bus to main shopping centre. Room is decently cleaned everyday and good room to room noise insulation. One free coffee per guest per stay and staff are very helpful.
Lovely hotel, but beware of Chinese”
Modern, airy lobby. Easy check-in. Room looked like it had been refurbished and was excellent apart from the mini-bar furniture which needs to be refinished. We had a great view of Doi Suthep. Some TV channels had a poor picture quality. Wi-fi was free, quick and easy to use. The curtain rail is continuous which meant that the morning light came through in the middle where the curtains met (better to have two curtain rails which overlap where they meet in the middle. Lovely bathroom with rain and normal shower. Sink was slow to drain...probably needs unblocking. Speaker in bathroom didn’t work (seems to be the norm in many hotels these days). Room sound proofing is not great as I could hear a snoring guest and TV from a neighbouring room. Also, Chinese guests don’t understand they should be quiet when they return to their rooms after midnight, so they tend to talk loudly in the corridor, which can be annoying. Breakfast was the usual buffet with egg station, western and asian offerings. Perfectly acceptable but be aware that lots of Chinese tourists stay here so breakfast can get a little “noisy” as they shout at each other across the dining room. There were long queues as the egg station. The breakfast staff do well to cope with the Chinese challenge. Staff were very obliging and obviously very well trained. They were a credit to the hotel and management. We went to the well appointed gym every day…the small pool was fine apart from the noisy speaker which broadcast inane music that spoiled the ambience. Noisy background music was also a feature in the lobby and the lift. If management feels the need to assault our ears with this mindless offering, please consider turning down the volume. Location is excellent…right by the Night Bazaar, near the walled city and 15 mins from the airport. I would stay here again, but beware the Chinese invasion.
Five star Hotel with 3 star standard Breakfast buffet”
It would have been perfect if their Breakfast was at the 5 star standard. Only two issues: 1. No instant coffee in the room nor coffee machine - only two brochures per day which we can order from coffee shop which opens 6 am. No brochures, have to pay 140 Baht for a cup of Latte. Either put instant coffee in the room or coffee machine as same as other 4 star hotels. Really inconvenient as I start a day with a cup of coffee at 5 am. No budget for machine, provide instant coffee. 2. Business in Chiang Mai is really slow. Not many tourist from western countries. I believe that Hotel needs to survive in this difficult time so, they have many low cost group tour from China and other countries. Breakfast buffet is really hopeless - not even a piece of smoke salmon or a shrimp (no seafood), no sushi or seaweed roll. 4 star hotel would be better than that. Sunday Lunch buffet was good as well as other a la carte dishes which are 5 star standard.
Very good hotel”
Excellent staff, great location, very good facilities including underground parking. Rooms modern and clean. Nice pool. A little bit overpriced at certain times of the year but often they have a promotion. I would recommend this hotel to all types of travelers ie families, single, couples.
Pros-great location, friendly and helpful staff, comfortable room...nothing to complain Cons- breakfast spread is good but menu should be varied. Stayed for 5 nights and food was the same every morning. We were very happy during our stay and will definitely return to this hotel in future.
Great location and service. Outdated room furniture & decor ”
You can not beat this location! The staff were wonderful to us and there is a definite luxury feeling. Two small complaints: the furniture & decor in our room were old and out of date and the breakfast buffet was not very impressive and bland. We still loved every minute of our stay.
Center of Nightmarket”
My first family holiday to Chiangmai. This is a good choice for 1st time viitors as it is near to old town (15 mins walk) and in night market area (just outside). Good food and massage is very near. bed is comfortable as in al le med hotels. For food my fav is Laem Charoen Seafood, in Central Festival mall (15 mins tuk tuk ride)
You get what you pay for”
Le Meridien provides what you would expect for the price: good facilities, well trained staff, and a commanding position. It's the location that is the best draw, situated in the midst of the Night Bazaar, and easily located. If you want to be in the thick of things, and don't mind the price, then this is a straightforward choice.
