Great Place with Young Kids!”
We stayed at the ground terrace with plunge pool, for 1.5 nights till we are ready to catch the flight. You won't be bored with the facilities here, especially with the children. Room was huge, pool was a little cold but my children of 4 and 6 years enjoyed nonetheless. However, will suggest you do without the pool unless u have a large family coming. We came as 2+2. The hotel's pool was already very conducive and my girls played for hours at the children's pool and you don't even have to get down wet with them. But the main pool, you will have to as it's quite deep. What i especially love are the daily program calendar they have for kids. Much like a Club med just that you do it with kids. Will stay and recommend friends to stay here. In fact, no need to go Patong etc. This is good for short family getaway.
Best Trip Ever ! ”
I stayed at Marriott Mai Khao Beach Club 2 years ago and had great experience so would like to try its sister property. This trip was perfect. The receptionist at Check-In greeted with smiles and explained all the details that hotels offer. The room is spacious for us. We requested for a rollaway bed for free and actually the sofa bed is also able to extend to a queen size bed as well. There’s a full kitchen for you to cook. The hotel has a large swimming pool, mini-golfs area and 24/7 fitness. We ate breakfast at Zest which were served by K.Jee, Jang, Ton, Angella and Wibi. They were awesome and have great hospitalities mind set as well as every other hotel’s employee. We also enjoy our “Abdo” class and aquatic exercise by K.Cee. The hotel has 7-11 closed by as well as few restaurants and small shops in a walkable distance. The only downside is it’s not connected to the sea but able to take their golf-cart. Overall, we had great time and definitely will be back !
A great place but a long way from any cultural hub.”
This is a wonderful resort - pricey, but you expect that at a Marriott. You get what you pay for and if you want amazingly appointed family/two-bedroom apartments, then this is an excellent place to come to. The apartments are huge and equipped with everything you need including three TVs. The pool is fantastic and the staff are very welcoming. Just be aware that on arrival, regardless of the fact that our bags had been left in Bangkok and we were tired and it was 12:30pm Sydney time, the Marketing person wanted to talk time-share - these people will also chase you around Turtle Plaza regardless of the number of times you refuse them. As far as location is concerned, the Marriott provides golf-cart courtesy transfers to JW Marriott down the road which actually backs onto the beach - Marriott Mai Khao does not. However, whilst the beach is beautiful, it is quite narrow and can be very rough due to the steep nature of the sandbar. You are also 30kms from Phuket City so touring is costly.
Great place for family”
everything is perfect; facility, staffs. Only comment here is the variety of breakfast. We will come back again next year
Fantastic Family Friendly Resort”
You have everything you need to relax with a young family. The only downside to this resort is that it is a little bit of a walk to the beach. Otherwise, everything you need is close by. Kids club is right beside the pool. From the pool deck you have good views of almost all of the pool so it is easy to keep track of the kids, there is a mini putt course, kiddie waterslide area... your kids won't be board here. It feels expensive when you are booking, but it is worth every penny!
The suite was spectacular. The breakfast was value for money. It is in a remote area, okay if you want to enjoy quiet and peace. but a lot of activities to be done. They have a shuttle bas to go to the other hotels and restaurants nearby. They do even have a small mall. Food is not a problem. A lot of choices. The staffs are helpful and friendly
Great home away from home”
The hotel is great, there is a kids club so that we can leave the kids there while lazing at the poolside. The beach is a short walk away. There are restaurants, shops, cafe and a mini market just 2 minutes walk away. The rooms are huge and clean. Airport is just less than 10 mins drive away.
Awesome stay for this getaway!”
Definitely Nil cons! The staff were very friendly and efficient. Helpful in pointing out where to get necessaties! Check in was great with Tony & peach explaining everything to us. Staff at the transport desk was awesome always ready to help. Can't remember the staff names at the poolside but the 2 guys were awesome! 1 of them obliged when we asked to take photos and took so many awesome shots! They made us feel so at home! Esp the poolside guy who taught yogaletics, taught people how to ride bicycle. He very patiently helped us with our float and is always cherry and happy! I certainly feel good. they most definitely deserve a pay rise! :) I would give this place a 10/10 anytime!
Excellent Family Resort”
We were scheduled to stay here May during the hotel's pool renovations, which we didn't realize until we arrived. The hotel was extremely accommodating and we were able to move to the JW Marriott. I stayed with my two young boys in February at the Marriott Mai Khoa Beach and it was a wonderful stay. The boys had a fantastic time. If you are a beach person, it is a bit of a hike to the beach, but well worth it. The hotel is clean - I marked it a little lower there due to the back bedroom being extremely musty (not an uncommon situation in such a humid climate). Staff are wonderful and the service is the excellent.
attractive hotel with spacious room”
We travelled a lot to Phuket but in fact the first time in this area, Mai Khao, a very quiet area with nice beach and scenery. Unfortunately the hotel location is not really up front to the beach so need to take a shuttle ( golf car ) back and forth. Besides, the neighbourhood is very quiet and basically we don't have too much choice beside the hotel cafe. The hotel food ( and breakfast ) does not have a big variety so quite disappointed. Our room is very big and clean, yet, the swimming pool is a bit small, in a resort standard. The staff are all very nice and we feel very comfortable. Overall, we like our stay here but will definitely change to Anatara next time.
Great family oriented holiday resort”
Awesome stay. Staffs was great and attentive. Pool was great. Hotel is close to airport. Check in was fast. Rooms was big and clean with all the facilities. Close to beach and shuttle was good. Kids room was superb to leave the kids there by themselves. There was yoga and muay thai classes for the fitness crazy. Five star rating for the stay.
Very worth the money ”
The apartment with 2 bedrooms was huge! Comes with big bathtubs and it was very clean and spacious. This property is definitely more for families and children loved the fishing activity! There were lots to do, like table tennis, golf putting etc.. drawback is that this resort is in the north of Phuket while the attractions are mainly in the central and south so had to spend a fair bit of time traveling.
kind of like this place. want to come back again. it's far from town so if you looking for some lively night life, this isn't the place.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this resort. I was expecting it to be good but it even surpassed my expectations. The staff are incredible and made the holiday for us particulary AM and Ton who are the most amazing people you could ever meet. The apartments are very spacious and the garden and pool area are great if you just want to chill 'at home'. Even little touches like providing washing powder and extra water as they knew we were ill. The breakfasts were exceptional with so much choice and we were very pleased to learn they carryon until 11am unlike may other resorts we have stayed at. It is worth noting that Mai Khao Beach isn't close to the hussle and bustle of Phuket so if you are looking for that, this is not the place for you. We absolutely loved it and we will definitely be back. Thank you Marriott Mai Khao for giving us such a lovely holiday and again special thanks go to Ton at the pool bar and AM for his wonderful yoga and exercise classes!
We had a fantastic stay at Marriott's Mai Khao Beach Club. The staff are fantastic and there are enough activities to keep young children entertained. The pool is a bit deep but we had brought our own life jackets for the kids and so we didn't mind. Its near the airport & that's always a bonus with young kids. Don't expect too many local shops near the vicinity though. Most things are overpriced by Phuket standards. But the room service in the hotel wad good and reasonably priced. Once they forgot one item we had ordered and the staff was very apologetic. They sent a complimentary fruit basket and also took off nearly 30% off our bill. We were very impressed with the level of service. Also its possible to order food from Kin Dee reataurant at very reasonable prices. They will deliver it to the hotel lobby. Overall its was a great stay!
Pleasant stay with young baby”
We booked an apartment with a plunge pool, and its location just outside of the kids pool and the breakfast area was very convenient. The service was overall great, save for a few minor issues like certain requests not being fulfilled. We spent time between Marriott's Mai Khao Beach and JW Marriott. We didn't manage to check out the activities as they were mostly catered for people with children older than 4, but it wasn't an issue as we were fine with hanging out by the various pools. The restaurants were generally very accommodating of catering for baby food, and staff were attentive of the baby's needs. Would definitely come back with a group of friends and their kids when they are older.
Great hotel for families”
My husband and I had a great stay here with our two children (aged 5 and 3 years old). It's really well set up for all the family to have a good time - our kids loved playing in the kids pool and splash area and we were able to sit nearby and watch them. They also enjoyed the kids club and we utilised the babysitting service so that we could leave our youngest there too for a couple of hours (minimum age to be left unsupervised is 4 years old). We also took bikes out one morning and had a lovely cycle along the road stopping off at the JW Marriott for a drink on the way back. Although you can't use the pools and kids club at the JW Marriott, you can access the restaurants and bars there and the spa. It's very expensive compared to what is available outside of the hotel but I would highly recommend the spa, it's beautifully designed and I really enjoyed my whole experience there. Breakfast was good - it's a relatively small hotel compared to some resorts so don't expect an enormous spread but we found it perfectly adequate and the coffee was great. We ate lunch at Delights and were very impressed with the food choice and quality there. We ate at the Andaman Grill at the JW one evening and had the most delicious steak. We ate in Zest another night from the special Thai menu - the food again was great. We had one of the ground floor apartments with a pool and there was more than enough space for all of us, it was huge. It was nice to be able to sit on loungers by our own pool whilst the kids were napping in the room. Also the direct access from the gate of our terrace to the pool area and restaurants was really convenient. The room was very clean and well-equipped and we always had plenty of towels etc. My only complaint would be that it smelt very strongly of damp and you could feel the damp when sitting on the sofa etc. Also all of our clothes smelt when I was unpacking our cases when we got home. I guess it's because the room is a little dark as it's
