Cleanliness matters most to me so this hotel was a great choice. This hotel just opened this year in February so everything was super clean. The bathroom was quite spacious as the bathtub and shower are separate, and just outside the door is the washlet toilet and sink. The bed was big and comfortable, big TV and small ipad to use in the room. No unwanted minibar inside the frig so plenty of room to store your own food--the breakfast is quite expensive for its value so you might want to buy yogurts and breakfast items outside to store them in the frig. The elevator uses a security system where you have to scan your room key card in order to go up to your room. I thought this was excellent security.

Great Location and Value”
This was our first trip to japan and there were four of us. We got two rooms at this hotel for 6 nights. In relation to western standards the rooms are small but that’s my only ding on this hotel. Everything else is exceptional. The staff are helpful, the location is perfect to Shinagawa station which allows you to get to anywhere else in Tokyo relatively easily. The hotel provides you everything you need to be comfortable. It’s new, clean, there is even complimentary wine and snacks during the weekday evenings. I would certainly stay here again.

Good and convenient location, probably around 5-10 minute walk from the station. Staff were friendly and the rooms were organized, clean, and as advertised. I would definitely stay again.

Good value proposition”
Stayed for 6 nights deluxe king room at this nice hotel. Everything is really clean and of quality, from linens, towels, toiletries, absolutely can find no fault at all. Although location a bit further from the center but made up for it by being within 5-10mins walking distance from one of the main transport hub, shinagawa station which provide easy connection to shinjuku, shibuya, tokyo station and ueno via yamanote line and ginza-tsukiji areas via asakusa line. All in all a great hotel with high value for money proposition. Highly recommended.

Great value for money”
We stayed for 8 nights, the room size was quite big compared to most of hotel we stayed previously. The toilet size was HUGE, almost 35% of the whole room size, which was one the most appreciated things. Another pro point was the cleanliness, then we enjoyed the mattress. Our room was facing the street, but the insulation from the noise as quite good. There is "happy hour" for all the hotel guests, at the evening, tho the things offered were few (namely some juice, wine, some biscuits and snacks).

Hotel is a little bit small for two people but i liked it because i prefer a hotel that is clean. sheets, pillow cases and towels are new and white compared to other hotels i have stayed in before in shinagawa area They have a coffee and wine bar that is open til 10pm and is complimentary Will definitely go back...

Good hotel to stay near Shinagawa Station”
This hotel is less than 10 minute walk from Shinagawa station which has all the train lines you'll need for a stay in Tokyo, making this a great central location for sightseeing. It was still new when we stayed so everything was nice and tidy, but I do see the potential for the condition to decline over the years as we could see some things were already not cleaned well. For example, there were cup ring marks on the table and the basin was dirty on check in. Also, there is not much in English here. Instead of a book they provide a tablet in the room but we couldn't understand anything on it. Only on our third day did it offer an option in English, but we didn't care by that point. Also the restaurant in the lobby has only snacks to eat in the evening and no one was available when I tried to buy something. Hopefully, these are just teething issues they can resolve over time.

Execellent stay”
Very glad with our choice of staying at newly opened Miyako City Tokyo Takanawa hotel. You can walk with your bags from Shinagawa station (take exit marked Takanawa) - turn right as you come out of station and cross street at the 7-11 and then straight walk to hotel. Staff were extremely helpful in organising taxi for 3.15am start to airport as well as locate a dentist who would speak English to assist us. Breakfast was included and nice (basic but fine) and you could order your sandwich as a takeaway. Enjoyed our stay and thanks to staff who made it a memorable one.

Stop Over Only”
One night stop over on way to Kyoto. Good location for transit although there is a major hotel with a very similar name that can be confusing. It was to our taxi driver (we did show him Agoda booking doco). Tried to check in to wrong hotel (as you do) and advised not booked in, then issue was explained. At correct hotel, nice welcome as always in Japan and happy with room, yes in true Japanese style room is not equipped for oversized luggage.

You should advise visitors that there is no access to the stairs except in an emergency. I have claustrophobia and would have preferred to use the stairs. If I had known about the lack of a stair facility I would not have booked.

Excellent in every way except there was no movie channel !..they loan you a blue-ray player,but bring your own DVD!..no rental shop near the hotel.

Very good and clean hotel. Will recommend to anyone who is looking for a smart option at Shinagawa station are. Room is compact with decent size toilet/shower (for japan). Appreciate the lounge service. My recommendation is to improve coffee at restaurant. Will definitely stay again without hesitation.

The hotel is facing a pretty busy street but I got a room facing the back and find the room quiet. I love the fact that there’s a big window that actually opens, and that the bathtub is very roomy for a Japanese hotel room. Didn’t go down to the lounge so I cannot comment on it.
