Dull but very good value”
This is a slightly odd place which I selected because it was near the bus station. Actually, it adjoins it - there is a back fence and door from the station with "Phuaroon" marked, but ask for it by name, don't try to describe it. Phuaroon itself is a series of newish bungalows, maybe ten years old, but decorated like a 1970s uk caravan park. My room was spacious, clean but very dull. However, it was really good value and 500m from the town centre. Two minor negatives. The walk to town has a lot of dogs on it. These are tame and fine, but at night some may be concerned. Also, the whole area is residential with livestock, so you will be woken by cockerels, dogs etc (I think this would apply to most places nearby).
Right by the bus station...”
My 18 year old son and I had a nice stay at Phuaroon. We got in quite late after a 26 hour journey from the US. Check-in went smoothly. The staff doesn't speak English, but who cares!? I'm in Thailand! I should have learned some Thai! Seriously though, the room was clean and sufficient and was great value for the money. To get into town, it's an interesting, short walk alongside a stream, past local residences. We stayed only 2 nights before we were off to Bangkok. The staff pointed us to the back gate, somehow knowing we wanted a bus....and WHAM...as soon as you exit the gate you're at the bus stop. Just get your ticket and off to Bangkok! Very convenient!
A place for relax”
The ambience very nature, seems like at local residences, traditional home but modern stuff. Unlucky one, the staff so bad on english except the kid who accept me on reception for check in she is speak english well for 13 yo girls.
Best Hotel in Thailand So Far”
We stayed a Phuaroon twice during our recent travels. We stayed two nights in a brand new bungalow and and a few days later we stayed two nights in one of the original bungalows. Both rooms were great, and they were even better because we got such low rates. My wife is Thai and very friendly, and she immediately became friends with the owners. That made our stay even better. I would recommend Phuaroon to everyone, and I'm sure we'll be back there again for the Loy Krathong Festival in next year. If I show the pictures of our rooms to any American, they won't believe what we paid. (The hotel does not have food, but I couldn't submit my review without filling in that section. They do have free coffee and toast for breakfast.)
A super place to stay.”
The hotel is situated directly behind the bus terminal(a tuk-tuk driver wanted 100 B, good that i got a GPS navigation on my phone, so i realized quickly that we have to make just a 100m to face the hotel reception). The location in my opinion is just perfect - you can't get late for your bus because of the traffic :) If you want to go to the center, you have to walk a little bit, but it's nothing scary, we walked the distance hotel-city center up to 5 times per day and it was ok. On the other side, because of the distance in the hotel is really quiet and you can just rest. The Bungalow itself was just a dream - well made solid building, specious enough with an air conditioning, fridge, TV etc. and a HUGE super-comfortable bed. Once was a little bit noisy from the construction works next to the Bungalow, but most of the time we were at 9:00a.m. already gone from the hotel. I would stay once again in it if I go in Sukhothai again.
Very close to the bus terminal”
It is very close to the bus terminal. There are out door kitchens where you can cook your own meals. free of charge breakfast includes bread, jam, butter, hot coffee, hot chocolate drink. It is quiet at night so you can have a peaceful sleep after a whole day cycling around the Old Sukhothai Historical Park. Bed sheets and towels are charged daily. Clean room.
Really nice Hotel, glad we found it”
I'm glad we found this hotel, it's very cheap and has unbelievable value for money. Such Rooms will likely be found in for more expensive hotels. Also great is that sukuthai bus station is withing walking distance (3 minutes). Just go through a fence/door (ask locals) and you are there!
A little splurge while backpacking”
We got to the resort late at night so the easy back gate was locked and we had to take a long tuktuk ride around to the front, which was annoying. But the room was excellent and the staff were very friendly even if they spoke minimal English. It was easy to catch a songtaew to the historical park from the bus station. Breakfast is just toast and jam, but whatever. The main problem was that while the wifi was clearly on in our room, neither of our phones could connect to it for the duration of our stay, which made planning very difficult. It would have been really great overall if the wifi could connect.
Two thumbs up for this new and lovely hotel! ”
It was a very pleasant stay because of the newly built hotel. It was very clean and extremely convenient as it was only 5 mins across te bus terminal. The staff was very personal an willing to arrange taxis for you if needed. It is also designed beautifully. The toilets an rooms were clean. However the room ha a very Strong musky smell which wasnt pleasant but you'll get used to after a while. There were no English channels too. Overall due to its cleanliness, convenience, price and design of the hotel, I would definitely come back.
Quaint little piece of heaven on earth . ”
We booked two rooms . Each cottage has two rooms . Cottages were tiny but extremely cosy with spectacular view of the garden . The attached bathrooms had all modern amenities and was pretty large . We had a fantastic stay .
Clean and comfortable ”
Great stay with clean big comfortable room . Air conditional working well in a big hot sunny day which is really appreciated . Somehow location is quite a distance from main road, you may need to have own transport for easy access
Modern clean rooms”
This resort is brand new, extremely clean and very popular. Private tour groups seem to block book rooms. This is not a problem at all but it does mean rooms disappear fast! It is in a quiet location, only 2 mins walk through the fence at the bus station!!!! The stroll to town is pleasant along the river and only takes 10 mins max. Staff speak little English but are helpful and the language barrier is not an issue. Motorbikes can be rented. Sukothai is great but si satchnalai even better and well worth the baht bus journey. Just crawl back through the hole in the fence to the bus station to catch the bus! Would highly recommend.
Peaceful step during long jorney to south”
A nice surprise, people don't speak english but actually you don't really need it. Little houses, ensuites, confortable and clean. 100 m from the back of the bus station coming and going to chiang mai/ bkk, 500 m to downtown and the 5 places to eat/drink in sukhuthai. The best choice, 10 dollars a night.
Very close to the bus station and lovely stay!”
it was very easy to find (directly opposite the bus station, through a trail. -look for the signs, bring a map and ask reliable people as tuktuk drivers etc will try to tell you the place is closed. the owner is very sweet and has newly built these detached houses. it's very well furnished and has a very clean bathroom. really worth a stay!
Just next to the bus station, outside the fence”
Finding the hotel is tricky from the bus station, as there is no signage. Even more tricky at night when the fence gate from the bus station is locked.
Good guest house close to bus station”
Good, sometimes we can hear a discotheque around midnight
Arrival is very late coz of self drive and not clear of the road. But still manage to find. Near to food stalls and night market. Spacious room but too bad have to cafe or restaurant in this hotel.
Nice location to travel to old sukhuthai”
Fast check in n out. Feel very comfortable to stay there.
Very nice stay experience.”
They really need an English version of website. It's hard to contact the owner.
Lovely bungalows,nice size”
