Sunset Resort Samui
Suveränt budgetboende ”
Bungalowen ligger precis bredvid stranden, personalen är trevlig. Men här är väldigt smutsigt, även efter dem har städat.
Look elsewhere ”
I had a bad experience at this "resort." First, the bungalows are very outdated and moldy, but that's to be expected for the price. Second, location is generally good for beach access, but it's right next to the pier and a ferry stop so it doesn't feel very private. But here's why I ranked it so low - When I was in the shower, I noticed a young man peering into the window watching me. I am not sure if the man came from outside the guesthouse (probably, based on the location) or was someone living or working there, but the entire experience was very unsettling and made me feel unsafe as a solo female traveler. The woman on staff didn't seem to understand my distress, but after an hour on the phone with Agoda I was able to get out of my reservation and move to another hotel.
Cheap and close enough to everything to not be your last resort.”
Staff handled our check-in decently enough, and the place was close enough to the sights in the area to be something we considered, but the resort and its facilities aren't being kept well to really matter. There's a pool and a beachfront, but at the time of our stay both were ill-maintained, the former being empty and the latter being littered with trash. Their bungalow interiors are decent (we got a fan room) but the wood floors were infested with bugs. The occasional airplane can also rattle the windows, given the proximity and orientation to the airport. Despite those, sleep was decent despite the activity from the bars around the place.
Unclean and falling apart”
Wonderful beach but the property itself is unkept. Trash on the grounds. Dust piling up in the rooms. Broken piping in bathrooms. We've down $10-$20/night for many of our accommodations in Thailand and this is the only one we were not happy with. Too bad because it's right on the beach. Save your money and look for lodging in Mae Nam. The town is nicer and the lodging is consistently affordable.
Cozy cabin ”
We enjoyed our stay here, it was on the beach and had a front porch that we enjoyed sitting out on. There are also many food locations nearby. The only downfall is the noise from local bars that you can hear in your bungalow at night. Mosquitoes were not as bad as we had anticipated from reading previous reviews.
Booked 3 nights. Stayed 1. Cheap but with reason.”
Booked three nights and stayed one. Really noisy from street. Saw a cockroach. Stained mosquito net and curtains. Next door to an "English pie shop" and a dubious disco called "Jezabels". Ten minute taxi ride to Bo Phut fishermans village. We found the taxi men the pushiest and most rude in our whole three weeks around Thailand in Bangrak. Agressive. Man in charge polite - we felt a bit sorry for him. If you book make sure you book a fan room.
Noisy place, not well kept”
The bungalow surroundings was not well kept, next to a speed boat departure area due to this it was loud due to the tourists and boat departures, also you could hear the planes taking off at near by airport. not really a relaxing spot. Bar and pool were closed. We didnt really enjoy our stay.
Better than Pleasant!”
I enjoyed one night there and got good rest and relaxation in the bed and on the nice porch. It was on the beach and in a convenient area. Some of the staff were very nice and helped me get a gypsy taxi to the airport which saved me some money and hassle.
i enjoyed my stay here Thankyou to the staff friendly and helpful!
Great beachfront for heavy sleepers ”
I loved it. The only downside is that u can hear the bars down the street later at night but I'm a good sleeper and it's not too loud. Also, it's way more chill here than Chaweng or other parts of the island so it's very relaxing, there's good restaurants without a lot of tourist hustle and bustle and it's a great bargain.
Nice placde to stay”
Very nice. I enjoyed the stay...:)
It's cheap and close to the airport. Staff is incompetent. There is no arrange airport transfer, you'll have to haggle yourself with the people next door. Okay option if you need a place to stay before a flight, otherwise, there are better options.
there is nothing but the noise of airplane”
The bungalow was an average place to stay with a nice bed but filthy bathroom. The bungalow I stayed in looked like it hadn't been cleaned for ages. The music wasn't loud at all so don't believe any of the other comments suggesting you need earplugs.
quite nice for the budget, could be cleaner”
it is a simple bungalow, nothing special the fan was really dusty but all in all the bungalow was clean and ok to stay there the beach in front of the resort is not that nice you have to walk five to ten minutes to find a better place next to the resort is a bar but it was not as loud as described in other ratings.
Nice clean bungalow but far from the action.”
Nice bungalows on a mediocre beach at a price that could be beat.
nice resort with small bungalows”
location is good, it is near the Beach, bungalows are very small and little dirty. staff very friendly. the resort is located near the pier where boats go on other Islands (koh phangan and koh Tao)and 10min walk to Big Buddha. this is very quiet zone, to see more you have to rent a scooter and visit the other side of the Island.
Great Location budget bungalows on the beach”
The staff are very helpful, if you need anything, Kun Sing is the manager and he will assist you, if he is off Duty, speak to Ning, she stays next door and will give you info and assistance with travel, food and local advice. The sunset terrace overhangs the beach and is a fine area to relax and read or have refreshments. This is a good value for money Budget option if you are tired of all the up market locations in the world.
Nice bungalow but nooo sleep!”
The toilet dosent flush, you do with a bunk of water. On one side you have the beautiful ocean but over the streat you have so many hocker bars and the music is tooo loud so you can NOT sleep! At all! They dosent shut down the music til 4 in the morning... and it sounds like its you playing on the highest volume in your room. If you like to sleep once in a while.. dont go there.
