Yoko River Kwai Resort
beautiful setting, quiet and peaceful”
I enjoyed my stay very much. It is a peaceful setting and the room was clean and roomy. Large bathroom. Beautiful view from the terrace. Friendly staff, although they don't know much English other than one of the front desk girls. Interesting museum. I did not have my own transportation, but the front desk arranged a motorcycle pick-up to the main road. Hope to come back here.
Quiet, Romantic, Relaxing. ”
Ok place, Nice place to read a book and relax for a few days. Need a car to get around. Its like 50-80km to most attractions. However plenty of nice spots off the beaten trail near by to discover. I will defiantly be going back with the kids as this place is very unique. Interesting room types. Nice land. Very green area. Pool small but nice.
Huge ground area by the river, but little bit remote. Not without a car. The restaurant closed 9pm, no chance to eat dinner " late"...and nothing right there for other option.
I like it
Hotel between Tham Kra Sae and Wang Pho stations- ideal if walking. Mid week, the hotel was fairly empty, staff a little bewildered i think as to why 2 Australians would choose to stay there, but once over their initial shyness were very welcoming. This hotel obviously caters for large groups of Thai tourists. Rooms spacious and large balcony with out door furniture. Indoor and outdoor decorations are quite quirky. Pool was immediately recleaned when they knew we wanted to swim. Hotel shop has a variety of local skin products "Yoko" which we were given samples having bought aloe vera moisturiser. An "interesting" resort to wander around in. A relaxing resort for an over night stay.
Nothing for digital nomads”
Second time at Yoko River Kwai Resort and probably not the last time. From the many resorts at Sai Yok it is till now the best offer concerning the quality and the very unique and original design. The buildings with the rooms are great. And it was very very quiet - fine for a good nights sleep. Probably because it was low season. Can't take conclusion how the place is, when (nearly) fully occupied. As a digital nomad with the need of being connected to the internet all the time, it is a little bit annoying, that outside the main building with reception and restaurant there is no WiFi connection to the Internet and I had to use the data option of my mobile for connecting my computer to the internet. This is something Yoko River Kwai Resort should improve very soon!
Quirky. Eccentric. Interesting and Excellent”
We booked this hotel at the last minute. We were really surprised at how large it was, the gardens and the fruit trees, and the range of room types not full shown on the Agoda site. The hotel was full of Thai retro memorabilia. If I had time I could have spent a couple of hours viewing it. We chose two adjacent river raft rooms, they were large, comfortable and clean with a nice wide verandah looking out over the river. There was a nice large dining and breakfast area, with sound stages. There was no live music playing but would be nice to visit the hotel when it was busy and hosted done musicians. The kids loved the large swimming pool and it reminded them of Jurassic Park! There was an extensive food men available. This hotel is ideal for anyone - especially families and groups of friends. Just a word of caution - do not book the raft rooms if you a physical impairment, or are just lazy - best to book the other room types. Also best to have your own transport to this hotel. The only thing they could have done better was to provide tea and coffee for the rooms ( there was a kettle, but no supplies). Also it would be s nice touch to provide some real coffee for the breakfast, not instant. I travelled here with a Thai family and they really enjoyed it.
Most uncomfortable bed”
Got a river raft room and the view was wonderful (probably one of the nicer river raft hotels). However, the bed was so uncomfortable (hard rubber) and the strip light outside out room could not be turned off. A combination of hard bed and the bright light meant a terrible sleep.
Wonderfully unique resort.”
The highlight of our vacation was our visit to the Tiger Temple. We selected this resort because is is close and were delighted with the quirky resort and thoughtful staff. Claude not only took us to the Tiger Temple and back to the resort but also to a bus station for our return trip to Bangkok.
nothing - only dinner food”
poor - and it's became more poor - stay three times this year there - That was definitifly my last time - nobody understand just a little english - nearly nobody knows anything about politness - everybody of the staff is very busy in playing with mobiles. Only food for dinner is excellent, but you have to order latest at 7p.m.
get more and more poor”
get more and more poor!!! You have to order dinner latest at 7p.m. - rooms are dirty and full of moskitos - nobody like to organize a room with a little fresh air or moskitospray. Stay three times this year - was the last time for ever!!!!
Excellent staff and very attentive. From check in to check out the staff was very accommodating. The pool was very clean and not over crowded. The food was excellent and the overall theme was different. There are signs everywhere to educate guests about conserving our planet. A unique and exciting place to stay. I will be back for sure!
good view and peaceful”
A bit far from town, since we stayed in the raft also a bit far from the lobby but you can ask their staff to drop you by skylap. Also you can order food to delivery to your raft. It is really nice view and good breathing.
There were only a few guests in the hotel when we stayed there. It was therefore very quiet and we could use everything in silcence. The rooms on the river are very special - we decided to stay longer and use the hotel as centerpoint for our trips in the region.
Remote, quiet and relaxing”
I like to stay at this place when I go hiking at the waterfalls. The resort is a bit remote and requires a car to get to without much local entertainment, but a great place to relax at night. Surrounded by nature, you can even hear the river running at night. The beds are a bit hard, but the rooms are spacious and well decorated.
Good view but the hotel is quite old”
The hotel has a very large area. You can select to stay in the room or the rafts. Rafts are nice by the river. I wouldn't recommend the hotel room because it is quite old and stuffy, go to raft! The price is reasonable. You need a car though. To sum up, based on the price, I would recommend this hotel.
Beautiful Location and Room, Abismal Breakfast”
we were highly surprised with the quality of the rooms at this hotel - they were of a very high standard. though tea and coffee making facilities literally mean that, a kettle, water, mugs ...everything but tea and coffee! after a romantic evening on the river we wandered the 10 min walk to breakfast to find the most awful breakfast imaginable, which my girlfriend became ill after eating. lemon grass juice, no tea, bread has finished, would you like an egg sir? in short, yes stay here, no do not go near the dining facilities.
Lovely resort by the river”
we enjoyed our 2 nights at the raft. the room as amazing, we loved the decoration done on the wall of the room. the food was good. we enjoyed the stay by the river and waking up in the morning with the river just outside our room. we had our romantic lunch by asking for room service. the staff brought over from the restaurant with a smile. the bed that we had was abit hard but still comfortable. the place is pretty near to all the interesting tourists attraction. you can always ask the receptionist to help arrange for a cab to go to these places
Natural and Peacefully Hotel”
if you like relaxing among the tree, thai style house will be your best choice. can drive and park in front of your room, privacy and the balcony view is river kwai. good breakfast. this hotel in among the landmark, waterfall, elephant camp, national park. love this hotel.
Very nice and clean place”
we stayed on the raft for 2 nights and had a very relaxing time. the sound of the river outside the raft added to the atmosphere. all appliances worked and seemed to be fairly new. the bed was also comfortable although a bit hard.
