Nice Australian Hotel , good staff .The bar staff simply outstanding . The menu could do with expanding when you compare it to other local Australian Hotels in the area near by. Stayed two nights , very quiet , a good sleep. Would not want to increase its prices for accommodation or you would step up to a higher grade Hotel nearby. Overall i would recommend the Swagman Hotel for a couple of nights in Manila while in transit.

The only sad thing I can say about staying here is that the restaurant has CHANGED .Is that important? Yes, maybe the old Chef left(it has a different feel). Not quite sure if they offer pickup from the Airports anymore, other than that It's a great place to stay.

        Comfortable and adequate ”
Swagman is still a reasonable hotel since under new management of Oriental Hotels. The restaurant/bar has a nice atmosphere and has live music most nights. The staff are very good and helpful. It is still a bit pricey compared with other hotels, but overall it's OK. To be picky, the rooms have some small defects and the water pressure is a bit low on the 7th floor. Good shower with hot and cold water. Like most hotels, there is no plug for the hand basin...(I always pack 2 sizes in my accessories box). The bus service is still 600 peso to Angeles...no increase in 3 years...and available to non-residents. I like the location, close to the bay for cooler air, nearby Rizal Park, Robinsons Mall, and plenty of 'local entertainment '

Much improved since new ownership. I had economy room which was clean and comfortable. Nice shower room with electric shower, so always hot. As is typical with many manila hotels, there was no hot water for the basin and no plug! Difficult for wet shaving. Excellent staff, good food, pleasant environment. Live music in the evenings. Mini bus service to Angeles City as well.

Picked this place for its bus service connections to Angeles and later to Puerto Galera. Good for both. A short walk to the famous LA Cafe which is a must go experience. You will find what you are looking for and if you are nice , you can take her home. Swagman needs an upgrade but the new owners hopefully will try hard.

I stayed in the Swagman because of the shuttle service to Angeles. The hotel itself is ok, although I found the general mood a little bit depressing. The area outside of the hotel is a bit dodgy at night time. It is convenient, however, when taking the shuttle the next day.

If you have an appointment at the US Embassy the next day this is the best place where ypu can stay for a night. Its approximately 5-10mins away from the main building of the embassy. Affordable. The only problem i noticed was the comfort room. And the elevator., just use the staircase

Free airport shuttle service and nice staff are the two main positive points for this hotel. Walking distance to the U.S. Embassy make this a popular place for those doing business there. New owners so will see if it continues to improve.

Just got bad information, I can get free fly bus ride to Angeles if I stay swagman Ermita. It's not true, they charge 600 pesos. Hotel room is like jail, no bed table and refrigerator not working. Water power is so weak. Even one night stay, I feel stay like one week. But fly bus service is excellent. Driver knows short cut even traffic is heavy. Like to take bus only.

have been staying here 25 years and it has been deteriorating. Recently purchased, the new owner is doing some things that are really interesting and show great potential, but there were roaches in my room, some kind of larvae in my bed and the ham and cheese sandwich I ordered had minuscule ham or cheese. I expect it will improve but I won't go back to find out

Since my last visit in 2014, SWAGMAN, has undergone renovations, which has improved the hotel immensely. The rooms are still basic, but much cleaner and tidier. They have a decent menu and the bar is open 24 hours! However, the breakfast could do with improvement by keeping it hot. By the time I was ready for mine, it was luke warm to cold. It is much better value now, but I would prefer it as a stop over for a few days rather than long term.

Good Aussie Restaurant/Hotel in an Isolated Area ”
Staff Service, Free shuttle to Airport, and Restaurant with LIve Entertainment.
I came from Swagman Angeles City hotel on their bus which charges 600 pesos for the two hour ride to Ermita area (compare that to 200 pesos for a ride from Dau bus station to Cubao or Pasay). The Ermita hotel is on the very narrow A. Flores street (bus almost cannot travel down it to stop in front of the hotel), in a residential neighborhood, not really within walking distance of much except a local park and a convenience store. Taxis do not usually go down A. Flores Street, so I walked to the convenience store and flagged down a taxi. Room is comfortable with empty refrigerator, and tiny bathroom. Took a taxi (60 pesos) to the Robinson's Malate, and had a great Filipino dinner with entertainment at the Zamboanga Restaurant a half block away. The Angeles Swagman Hotel is much less impressive with an non-airconditioned restaurant with okay food, but with mostly Australian tourists watching horse races. The Angeles Swagman is also in a residential neighborhood, far from the more interesting parts of Angeles city. A shuttle service (van) runs to Olongopo city for 500 pesos.

Very disappointing hotel. Accommodation is drab with very dim lighting, feels more like a detention centre than a hotel. Very expensive for what is a back-packers’ hostel. Corridor to elevator is very shabby and smells like a toilet. It does have hot water and staff are pleasant. Free airport transfer and also bus service to Angeles City. But these are available to non-residents..300peso for transfer and 600peso for 3 times daily Angeles service.
