Good”

The staff was friendly and kind to ask us to quickly get our dinner as the diner is closing soon. The bed has the electric warmer so you do not have to worry about the cold at night. Room is spacious enough. Wifi is strong. Overall we really enjoyed our one night stay at Swansea Motor Inn.

The staff were really friendly and welcoming, the view was lovely and it was walking distance to the eateries

We had a nice stay at Swansea Motor Inn, it was great to catch up on the washing in the guest's laundry, ample supplies of tea, coffee and sugar which is rare.

Swansea Tasmania - Covid 19 break.”

We were offered a 2 bedroom family apartment instead of the 2 rooms we booked and found it ideal for us and our 2 adult children. Wonderful view across the bay from our lounge room. Very friendly and helpful staff. We have visited Swansea many times over the years and consider it one of favourites. Garry, Jean, Jennifer and Kate.

We stopped over at Swansea on the way from Hobart to Launceston. The owners are very friendly and helpful. The location is superb, just a short stroll to the beach and restaurants. Overall it is a great motel for the small town.

Comfortable, clean, large room, relaxing view”

The view, the comfortable room, good shower

Swansea is a very quiet town with not much going on, but so relaxing. The room is right on the beach, and so sitting on the balcony was lovely. There were good restaurants nearby (although service at Ugly Duck Out was terribly slow), and the room had wifi. It was large, comfortable, modern. Freycinet National Park is not terribly close by, but it's easy enough to get there.

Great location and view but old. ”

View, location, price

The room was kind of old and had a musky smell when we arrived. We had a room with a sea view which would have been very beautiful on a sunny day. Restaurants nearby closes early and there is not kitchen in the rooms, so be sure to get some food before arriving at Swansea. The Inn has a great location if youre at the east coast area, travelling between Freycinet, Bicheno and Hobart.

Very clean, basic motel stay with great view and location

This motel is right on the water, rooms have balconies with table and chairs looking out over the bay, restaurants are close by. It is a fairly basic room with bathroom goods supplied plus a microwave. Bed was comfortable. Overall would recommend unless you're looking for something flash and then Swansea is not for you.

Basic stay in Swansea”

1.) Free Wi-fi with good speed 2.) With Laundry 3.) Next to the beach, with seaview if you choose higher price room

Mine was a cheaper room and there was no sea view. The sea view is great but you can see nothing when it becomes dark. The motel is located in the city center of Swansea and the beach is in front of the motel. - Free Wi-fi with good speed. - They have a laundry but have not mentioned in their homepage. - They have heater and electronic blanket (I did not use). - No drawbacks, no surprise.

Great view and comfy bed but could use an upgrade”

Let's start with the good/great. Great little balcony with beautiful ocean views (if you get an ocean view room). Comfy bed. Nice hot shower with very good pressure. Friendly easy-going reception. Heater for those cool nights and early mornings. And the room was a good size for a couple. But there's definitely room for improvement. The glasses and dishware provided in the room were all a bit dirty. It was obvious they don't get washed properly. One of our wine glasses still had lipstick on it. The wall to wall carpet is a bit old and grubby which is a bit gross considering the "food prep area" and the sink is where the carpet is. Overall it was fine for the couple of days we stayed and considering the prices in the area and around Freycinet, I guess the price was fair. We probably would stay again if I was visiting the area. We really loved the view!

A Stopover”

The friendly and helpful staff; stopover on the way to Freycinet; internet access.

It was fine; no complaints and no serious issues. It was a stopover motel on the way to somewhere else, in my case Freycinet. There is very little to recommend Swansea for - it is a stopover point, nothing more nothing less - but since this review demands that all sections are completed I have said beaches and sun.

Ordinary”

Close to beach, quick check in and out. Close to cafés.

Nothing exceptional. An ordinary motel located on the route to national park which is the main attraction of the region. Swansea is really a tiny town with friendly people. There is a 9 hole golf course and we played a round for A$15 which includes a hire set and used golf balls. Great fun!

1980s decor at the Swansea Motor Inn”

No money has been spent, save a cheap digital TV in these rooms since the 1980s. Torn carpet, threadbare quilt cover, broken bedside table, noisy old fridge, repulsive out of date decor. I understand it must be difficult making a profit running a Motor Inn in a small town, yet the room price was excessive given the poor quality. I stayed in Hobart at the 429 Motel in Sandy Bay for the same price and the difference was chalk and cheese concerning quality.

Beautiful Ocean View”

The place - or maybe just the time of our visit - was very quiet. Not much to do in the area, difficult time finding variety for meals nearby. But, the view of the ocean was spectacular. The room was spacious and clean; the staff at reception was friendly, kind, and helpful. I'd stay here again and recommend it.

Great stopover on the Tasman Highway ”

Was looking for a quick stopover between hikes and found this - two hours out of Hobart and hour to Freycinet. The owners were great for advice about best takeaway, and where I could buy or replace any broken gear. good self serve laundry and a fantastic grass area and oceanfront view. the town was also a nice stopover and the museum and art shops authentic and interesting so I stayed a second night and the owners were happy to let me air my tent and camping gear for the day on the grass areas. Also a good kitchenette set up to make for easy or early meals.
