Trust me, this is the best Hotel in Sorong! Be aware, you can't change money to Indonesian rupiah in hotel and will need to get a cab ride into downtown Sorong. A cool local seafood restaurant is just outside the hotel. Room was very clean, modern, and comfortable. Staff attentive and professional. English is not spoken fluently, so, you may have to wait for someone who speaks it well to communicate with staff. The best hotel choice in Sorong.

If you are going to be roughing it on an island homestay, have a little pampering before and after! Swiss-bel is a real treat. Superb staff from front desk assistance, wait staff in dining room to the happy room cleaners and cooks, who prepare delicious breakfasts full of Indonesian and western cuisine. Will a poolside patio to relax or the gym with up to date equipment, why not pay the extra money and live like a queen for a night or two. I will be returning for 1 night and collecting my excess luggage stored safely for free!

Affordable (while more than other hotels in town this one is SO MUCH BETTER than the others that are only a little bit less money). The included breakfast is a HUGE BUFFET with VERY DELICIOUS food. The lobby is a lovely place to lounge.

Good stay at Swiss-belhotel”
This is our first "stay" at Swiss-belhotel Sorong. "Stay" because it was meant as a place of resting between our early flight from Jakarta (arrived at 6:30am) and the Ferry departure to Waisai (at 2pm). The lobby is spacious, with comfy sofas in the sitting areas and there is also a bar. Check-in process was efficient although there was only one receptionist and groups of guests coming from the airport with the same ideas: to rest before heading to the sea port. After dropping our luggage in the room, we headed to the restaurant for breakfast. At first the restaurant looked dull like a modern meeting hall turned into a restaurant, the food also looked unimpressive. However, we were pleasantly surprised when we tasted the food, it was really good. Kudos to the chef and the kitchen team! As it is with all Swiss-belhotels we have stayed at, the room was utilitarian, nothing special, just modern, comfortable, clean and nice. Good water pressure and hot water in the shower. We also found out Deluxe rooms basically had NO view other than other rooms on the other side of the hotel building. Anyway, we were there to sleep so no complaints there. Unfortunately, the aircon didn't work optimally, we reported that at check-out. The hotel was only 10 minutes from Sorong Airport (SOQ) and 5 minutes from the Sorong seaport. Really strategic. Service was very good. I left my mobile phone on a sofa in the lobby. We were already at the seaport when I realized the phone missing. Quickly called the hotel, they found it and kept it until I return from the port to pick it up. Thank you!

Good second stay”
This is our second stay at the Swiss-Belhotel Sorong, in transit from Raja Ampat to Jakarta. Again, efficient check-in process. Friendly service. As I indicated "pay at the hotel", they didn't bill me until check-out. This time, since we stayed a little longer, we booked Grand Deluxe room, bigger than the Deluxe room we stayed at earlier in the week. The room has a 2-seater sofa and a coffee table, long work table, And it has a view. Our room was on 3rd floor with a small balcony with a view to the seaport. So you can actually see if your ship is already there waiting for you. The bed was comfortable, we slept really well. We ordered a class of mixed juice at the lobby bar and it was good. We just found out there is a food court place called "Juragan Angkringan" next door to the hotel. But we went somewhere else for dinner since we wanted to eat local cuisine. Breakfast was standard but good. Quite a crowd of people, just like us, wanting to catch the 8:25 flight. The kitchen staff seemed to be not really ready for that, when they finally catched up, most guest already had to leave.

Room was comfortable clean and spacious bathroom very small. Restaurants food was nice but service very disorganized dishes came out for some of the table but not all. No one cleared the table or asked if you wanted anything else. Good place for a stop over near to port to get ferry and airport on return.

Nice location near airport and close to ferry terminal to raja ampat. Breakfast buffet fine with options for making western omelets besides the local breakfast. Staff friendly and can communicate sufficiently in English and will try to be helpful. Rooms comfortable with some wuthgood view of the ocean in near distance. Taxi service easily provided and hotel staff flexi le for early chwck in and late check outs with a comfortable lobby.

This hotel is close to many interesting spots such as restaurant, coffeeshop, foodstalls and ofcourse the airport. Food qualities still need lots of improvement though.

A decent hotel at a decent price. Good place to stay on the way to (or back from) Raja Ampat. Close to both Sorong harbor and airport. Food quality could be better though.

For the price, I expected better. On arrival, I had no towels in my room and I had to ask 3 times before I received them. Also, the air conditioning was not working properly. They don't provide a shuttle service to the airport.

A bit overpriced…”
I found it a bit overpriced for what it offers. Located in somewhat outskirt area and don't allow Grab pick ups. I have never found a pool actually and spa isn't open, although promoted in their materials. Anyway, i’d prefer some other option is Sorong.

no western amenities (pop, juice, ice, etc). And very poor local knowledge by staff. Tried to find cell store and liquor store. The former they eventually found, as quickly as I had (but uncertain of store quality). The latter drew mostly blank stares or "no you can't get liquor". 4th day & 4th try I found a desk person who knew where to find it. This is maybe not indicative of overall knowledge because booze seems to be taboo here, but still, their clients are largely Euro or anglo divers heading off to remote islands

after a long trip in raja ampat, it was so great to able to find comfort again, everything is pretty standard if you compare to hotels in Java or Bali but in Papua it's a luxury and the best in Sorong
