Best hotel at Pangkalan Bun, value for money. ”
Pangkalan Bun is a small place, there are only 2 hotels with reasonable facilities. Swiss Belinn, is by far the better hotel in Pangkalan Bun. It is new, clean, with adequate facility and fast Wifi Internet in the room. However the restaurant menu are limited and relatively high in prices. Limited choices of food, Get bored with the food, because of long stay in the hotel.

The hotel is large and western style. Its far from the center of PANGKALAN Bun so there's not much around the hotel. There is a good restaraunt at the end of the driveway, though. Our room and the lobby had mosquiotos but the bellman came up and sprayed our room. The staff tries very hard to help the guests.

Swiss Belinn is one of the only options in town, and it's quite nice, maybe needing a few touches here and there, but overall very clean and comfortable. Incredibly helpful, kind staff, and great pool. It's a little far from town, but quick car rides.

The room is very comfortable and the staff is friendly and helpful. Nice before and after a trip to the jungle! Especially for the price it is a good deal. The restaurant is very average, sometimes it is OK, sometimes it is just really bad. Also note that there is a mosque right in front of the hotel. If you don't want to wake up at 4AM and again at 5AM try to stay in room on the left side of the hotel (when standing in front of the main entrance) as there it is a bit more quiet.

Great staff very average International hotel”
We stayed at the Swiss-Belinn for 4 nights on our way to Camp Leaky. The hotel has everything but is a bit old and tired, could do with some additional investment and refurbishment. The staff do not have great English however we were able to share a joke with them. They tried very hard to please and were very helpful, could probably do with some additional training which is the responsibility of management . The restaurant is very, very ordinary and expensive. Food choices are limited and they often didn't have what we had ordered we were however able to get some beer but paid a premium price for it! Highlight was an invitation extended by the General Manager of the hotel, to attend the Indonesia Independence Day celebrations - met the local Chief of Police, the Regional Major of the army and other VIPs. An excellent night of celebration and meeting local school children and others!

Nice people, very poorly designed and built”
Shower floor sloped away from the drain so it flooded. Wardrobe door prevented from opening by doorstop which stopped the front door hitting the wardrobe. Consequently there was no access to the safe or the hanging rails. The dining room had a fancy ceiling but you could see a huge damp patch and mould above and I feared a collapse. It's a very new hotel and open about a week but it needs a major building refurbishment to make it habitable. I explained to the reception staff but they didn't really understand. Overall, my room was badly designed for the space. Fortunately my deal was not too expensive and I was on the way to the airport so I didn't argue but I wouldn't stay in a Swiss-Belinn again.

There is nothing For business travelers to unwind. The is no bar or beer sold or a place to unwind in this SWISS hotel but other local hotel sells beer / liquor and have karaoke. My next trip, definitely not Swiss Belinn in Pangkalan Bun. I have stayed in your hotel in Pekan Baru before and they sell beer

We were only there for 1 night and everything was fine. We have no complaints about the hotel,staff,room,food. But would absolutely never stay there again because of the horrible, unbelievable loud noise from the mosque across the street. The loudspeakers that pump out such a horrific volume of chanting and preaching never ended until 10:30 at night and was back at it again before 4:00 am. I feel sorry for the owners of the hotel because this lack of consideration for all other people in the area will kill the business.

swissbel is an international brand, and i've stayed in a few in bali.. thought the standard would be the same in pangkalun bun, but sad to say, my stay was not the highlight of my trip... i booked for 7 nights, as i needed somewhere to leave belongings when i went on a river boat/klotok tour... which was fantastic. However, the swiss bel is very far from the town centre, right opposite 2 very loud mosques, especially at around 3 a.m... there is no double glazing, i stayed on the second floor and needed the window open at times as it got stuffy and the a/c was very weak... Food in the restaurant was below par - lukewarm breakfasts, although there was a wide variety, it was always tepid... spring rolls frozen in the middle, keen staff, but limited english... it's too far to walk anywhere in the heat, so although i felt trapped i stuck it out and used wifi in the room which was good... the pool is large, never used it as there were no cushioned areas on the double sunlounges, and no pool towels to be seen... no one used it while i was there, i felt uncomfortable as well because it is a fairly strong muslim customer base and is in full sight of the outdoor eating/smoking area... so although the pictures look good, find somewhere closer to town...

Hotel is fine, definitely showing it's age but still probably the nicest of the area. Good dining options, breakfast is a huge buffet and the afternoon tea is a great deal.

A warm welcome by the front desk staff, they are very helpful, and I have no problem in communicating with them as mentioned in other reviews. A bit noisy at night because the hotel is located near to the Mosque. Food is good and cheap, but a bit surprised that there are not many options for indonesian cuisine in the room service menu. Overall a very nice stay.

It is a decent 3-star hotel, but it could actually grow to 4-star. I liked the staff, so I will provide the following helpful suggestions to make it an even better experience. The grounds are large and impressive, but they let construction rubbish pile near the entrance. A clean landscape would improve the first impression of guests. The lobby is grand but overrun with smokers - even a manager was smoking in the lobby! The swimming pool looks pretty but needs maintenance on the pavers, etc. They have a gym but only 3 machines with no air con. ROOMS: The Grand Deluxe room (#118) was great. Everything looked new and clean. But Executive room (#228) was a disappointment. Dirty walls with cracks and stains, shower drain overflows into the room, poor air con, etc. The music in the hallways was too loud and interfered with sleeping. Cigarette smokers seem encouraged to smoke indoors. Two guests were smoking in the hallways near my room. But management allows smoking in most public areas, even allowed IN THE RESTAURANT! There is really no excuse to allow smokers to poison the air of restaurant eaters and other paid guests with this bad habit. The staff was friendly - they even noticed from my passport that it was my birthday, and surprised me with singing and a cake. Such a nice thing to do! I do recommend this hotel, and wish the staff the best. But with a little effort, they could truly improve the quality here.

The only best hotel in town”
It is a little pricey but it is the only best hotel in town. The room facilities are a little old. But the WiFi is very strong and room is quiet. Overall, the hotel is so-so but it is best hotel you can find in this town

Staff was friendly but could hardly speak English, fortunately I can speak Bahasa so that was nice. Rooms were fine,nothing fancy. If you want to have a good night sleep, do not stay in this hotel. In the area around it there is a mosque and it will call its people twice a night. Also a number of times in the afternoon. They sell a bier at high costs. The food is oke, not great but you have to deal with it. If you wish to eat somewhere else you have to take a cab to the city centre. At the time of our stay they were having maintenance to the water supply, so no warm water was available.
