Incredible staff, especially the owner who goes out of his way to suggest and organize outings. He will even negotiate the cost of a tuk tuk for you as well as selecting a trust worthy driver. Large comfortable room and the owner even takes into account your personal requests, contrary to many hotels. Although there is some violence in the city, the owner will do his best to make sure you are safe. The location in a residential area and close to Dal lake are ideal. Best hotel and staff in 3 weeks of traveling. Andre C.

This hotel has no restaurant, forced us to leave
No any
We had to leave both the rooms after one day as it has no restaurant. The bedsheets were colored, along with colored towels, stains on the carpet, pathetic toilettories, etc. All bookings are non-refundable for this hotel and you can see why. The whole hotel wore deserted look. It was far from Dal lake in a narrow lane.

The coldest hotel ever
Hot water, electric blanket and gas stove heater in the reception
There's no central heating. It was warmer to go outside than stay in the room. It was winter with temperature ranging from -4C to 6C. We just assumed that hotels have central heating. Turns out that only 5-star hotels have that. There was a heater powered by a gas stove in the reception. There was hot water aplenty but it was soooooo cold that we did not shower for the 3 days we stayed there. The 1st night, my boyfriend and I would put our feet in a pail of hot water just to brush our teeth. We had a good laugh about this which is all we could do. We were given many blankets which helped alot. I felt warm enough to poke my head out of the blankets. The owner was super nice and helpful. He lent me his wife's boots and knocked on the door of his neighbor during prayer hours so I could buy thicker socks. WiFi is only in the reception which is a good excuse to go down and sit by the gas stove heater. The experience was so unreal though that it was unforgettable. It's definitely the coldest hotel I've ever stayed in.

Friendly Staff
No restaurant facility, construction work noise
We arrived Kashmir in the afternoon and were welcomed with dirt at the gate with construction work going on. To add to it there was no restaurant facility at the hotel premise; however the staff was friendly and tried to give us a warm welcome. Do not expect much from this hotel but with limited service they and friendly staff they tried their best to feel our self-comfortable. Overall too expensive. Service includes: 1. Running Hot water 2. Room Heater. 3. Clean Room.

Lovely hotel and good service
Good location, close to key tourist spots
The hotel is actually "Hotel Swiss" and should not be confused with the more famous chain globally. Staff is courteous and helpful in knowing local information. Stay was comfortable.

Obliging English speaking owner but very overprice
Reasonable position, very knowledgable owners
Upon arrival we were very impressed by Rouf, the owner, he was eager to help and assist with anything we needed. However, for the price the rooms were way overpriced. No sheets offered, no daily cleaning, room was kinda clean, kinda not. No restaurant only coffee/tea in the morning. Some of the other guests saw large mice/rats regularly. When l discussed the fact that l had overpaid for the room with Rouf he agreed? Makes you wonder. He did give me a discount for the third night which still felt expensive.
