Great Hotel!

We booked a 1-day staycation for our 11th anniversary weekend. 2 reasons we chose this hotel... it was the hotel I first met my husband and that it has this little water slide for kids. We planned to bring the girls to enjoy the pool. Unfortunately, it rained heavily after we checked in so the kids didn't get to even see the pool! While checking in, the staff ask if we stayed at the hotel before and hubby told them we stayed there 13 and half years ago and this was our anniversary weekend. The guy upgraded us to an executive room on the 10th floor! We were very grateful for the gesture. The bellboy who brought up our luggage gave us a room orientation, everything from how to operate the coffee machine to locking/unlocking the safe deposit. Our girls had a blast on the king bed because the linens were so comfy! They even had a pillow menu whereby you can choose any kind of pillows from the a'la carte menu. We left the room for the mall and dinner. Few hours later, we were surprised to find a bottle of wine, 2 wine glasses and a card from the management wishing us a happy anniversary. Next morning, we had ordered in-room breakfast and they pushed a cart of breakfast. Waffles was not that impressive but the eggs on toast, hashbrowns were good. Their little jars of jams were awesome! All in all, it was the best staycation we had ( tried Carlton, Studio M, Hotel M etc ) and we can't wait to go back there again! This time, we have to go to the pool! :) Lastly, we thank the management and the staff for their great customer service!

My experience this time around
Locationis great , Staff are very friendly & accommodating
My stay this time around was not so pleasant. First I was given a room close to the renovations (loud jack hammer noise. After complaining, the staff were very good, they put me in another room, actually it was an upgrade and one of the ones recently renovated. My problem with this room was that the aircon fan was on constantly even when the aircon was switched off. I was advised this is the new system. It was noisy and there was a lot of draft, making it very uncomfortable for the whole 4 nights I stayed at Swissotel Merchant Court. I think websites should adopt a mechanism by which guests are notified that renovations are being carried out. It's a rude shock when one finds out about the renovations after having booked, paid for the booking and arriving at the hotel. It's just not right.
