I walked to night bazaar, chaing mai gate, Thai pae gate and old city every day for nine days. The property is lovely, the free breakfast very good and the entire staff so kind , from kitchen to housekeepers, to the face of Tadkham, Dow and Bo, both very sweet and kind ladies. I will absolutely stay again! Elton_USA

Above and Beyond My Expectations ”

        Hotel staff, great environment, location

This hotel was beyond great. As a 26 year old American, I have stayed at many hotels in my life time and can honestly say I almost cried when I had to leave this hotel. Everything was great from the moment I stepped foot on the property, the staff is what truly made it a great and rememberable experience. Very helpful, tells you of all the attractions and sites to visit in and around Chiang Mai. Breakfast buffet was great, if you read anything negative regarding the breakfast buffet ignore it as these people probably eat dog/cat food from where there from.

nice little hotel which is family run, but the owner needs to open up the windows as it was dark most of the time, (remove the window boards please) very clean, nice staff just off a main road so you don't hear traffic, within walking distance of the old city

        near night market

The wait staff were lovely. One in particular was really helpful. The room was really nice, large, lots of room and a bathroom that was big enough to shower and leave my toiletries out with room on the bench. There were also enough sockets to charge my phone and tablet, which some hotels don't have. The wi-fi worked best from one particular spot in the room, but it worked, which was great.

comfort environment, decent service, garden view

It's a wise choice to book this hotel. The environment is just same as seen in the website. The hotel lady left us a very good image of her smiling service. Location is near to Saturday night market, 5 mins walk away. You may rent a moto thru hotel, easy to get to any where in town. Not mention the price is very competitive.

quiet, clean, cheap, close to city

we enjoyed our time here. quiet and peaceful, close to city gate, but close enough to night bazaar to walk, have to hire a tuk tuk for that. breakfast was good, with several choices and a coffee shop, but you have to pay a little extra for 'real' coffee. will stay here again.

overall, a pleasant place to stay. clean, relaxing atmosphere, good breakfast, friendly staff etc. on the down side, the roosters did drive me crazy at times especially at 4 am. also, it is situated just outside the old city and is a bit of a walk from all the temples and pae's gate. nonetheless, the hotel is good for the price you pay.

A great place for comfort and relaxation. Good service from staff members and reception is open 24hrs. Internet provided in the lobby areas. Breakfast provided whilst not a full buffet spread (for those expecting it) is delicious. Room was spacious and facilities were adequate with good channels on the television. Hotel is tucked away from the main center of activity but it has not been a problem for myself. There is a night market about 5 mins walk with plenty of good cheap food. Do try the pad thai and the banana egg roti.

        A small-scale well-maintained hotel with great sta”

great service staff, proximity to Saturday walking street

The 2 rooms we had were spacious and very clean. The beds were a tad too hard for us but this is personal preference and we won't fault the hotel on this. One of our rooms had a faulty water heater and they sent the security guard to check. He kept pressing the 2 buttons on the water heater for 10 minutes and it didn't help at all. WHen we asked him to stop but he didn't seem to understand English. In the end we made do with cold water as we were in a rush. Subsequently the reception staff who followed up with our complaint offered to get us another room and we accepted. The hotel staff left a deep impression on us, they were friendly(not the guard) and dedicated. For example when we were doing the checking in, one lady took initiative to bring out a map and pointed to us the hotel's location, as well as the locations of the walking streets and night bazaar. She also pointed out that the night bazaar is more touristy and prices might be higher. She strongly recommended the Saturday walking street which was only a few minutes walk away, we went there and had a great time shopping and eating local delicacies. The breakfast buffet spread was pathetic if we compare it with other hotels, there were only toast, fruits and salad. And every person was entitled to only one set of breakfast, choosing from cereal, porridge, rice, omelette or poached eggs. Big eaters would need to pay for second serving. We had no problem with this as we are small eaters. The only problem we had with the hotel was regarding massage service. On the first night, our tour guide arranged for masseuses to do Thai massage for us in our rooms. According to him, most hotels allow this. When our masseuses arrived they were denied entry. The hotel required us to pay a surcharge of 300 baht/ masseuse if we want to have massage in our rooms. In the end we had to travel to the massage parlor. The next morning we found out that the hotel have its own massage service but at a much higher rate

        Prise, Location, friendly staffs

Best value for your money. The hotel locates outside the city wall of the old city. So you are super fast in the old city and other places but still have your peaceful night without all the traffic noise. The hotel is beautifully decorated in Lanna style. Even the Tuk-Tuk driver said that it look nicer than the temple next to it ;) The room was simple but good enough for me. The spa is small but very effective. I had my best Thai massage there. If you are more sensitive, you might need to the masseur to be more gently. I paid 750B for 2.5h intensive Thai foot, body and shoulder massage. The staff are extremely friendly (as many people in Chiangmai are) and they are always very happy to help you. The hotel also has a small gift shop for your last minute souvenirs :)

This weekend getaway is really fanatstic, able to stay in this boutique hotel. It is cosy and the staff are friendly and helpful. The rooms are great, very spacious. The breakfast is delicious too. Got a natural alarm clock with beautiful birds chirping at around 7.30am and the moment i stepped out of my room, i am able to see a mini waterfall with kois swimming in the pond. It is really a fastastic experience.

Breakfast is quite limited choice so the hotel should add more options of food.

The hotel in conclusion is fantastic. the room is very clean and have space for two people. The location is handy, can go to any where easy. However the breakfast meal is not much choice but the test is ok.

This is a hotel for us and all we need because we want to go out and explored Chaing Mai more than just stay whole day swimming in the hotel. Locate in the city and easy going to anywhere in Chiang Mai.Not far from the airport. Safe and Quiet lane next to beautiful temple but only take sort walk to the road and near fresh market (Prathoo Chaing Mai Market). Very nice architect with a unique Lanna style, good on the camera!. The owner "Koon R Jit" is very lovely lady. The room is very clean and People are friendly. The price is very good for people that need comfortable facilities and very nice cleaning place.

        Tadkham Village Hotel, Chiang Mai”

Value for money. Big, clean rooms (We had 1 deluxe + 2 standard rooms). Overall, friendly and helpful staffs. Located within the city and a short distance away from the hustle & bustle of the Chiang Mai gate nite bazaar.
No swimming pool. One particular male staff on night shift (13-Nov-09) who was cold & unfriendly towards the guest. (The short-haired staff who was on the 12-Nov-09 night shift was very friendly and helpful).

I would certainly go back to this hotel again in my next visit. Love the al-fresco dining environment and the good breakfast. The small souvenir shop is good for last minute shopping of gifts - reasonably priced and good variety. The staffs are hospitable (except for one, who is the fly in the ointment). I will highly recommend this hotel to my friends who are visiting Chiang Mai.
