Where to stay in Tainan City
Tainan City hotels & accommodations

I am a loyal SPG member, but due to the fact that there is no SPG hotels in Tainan, I chose Silks Place Tainan for my stay. And I am thoroughly impressed. From the front desk to the executive lounge check-in, staff attitude and thoughtfulness, room decor, comfort and cleanliness...all these were impeccable and may even outshine certain SPG hotels I have stayed in Taipe...

Brand new hotel in the heart of Tainan. Just a 10 minute walk from the train station. Superior room was a nice size, full size bathroom and good wifi. Made to order breakfast with both Asian and Western options. Helpful staff who spoke good English and provided good tips. Lots of little boutiques and eating options in the neighborhood behind the hotel and further to th...

The hotel facility was very new and clean and I was able to have a good stay. At first when I was heading for the hotel the building was not distinguishable as it seemed just like an ordinary shop. But after checking in, I noticed it was very convenient for exploring major sites such as Chihkan Low, the Temple of Matsu, and the Literature Museum. And interestingly, the...

What a pleasant surprise for my first time stay at The Place in Tainan! I spent total 10 nights at that hotel visiting friends and family and got to enjoy the convenient location of the hotel and it’s cleanness thoroughly. One thing to point out is that I do have a family vehicle to use during my extended stay so I’m unaware of the public transportation in the surrou...

We stayed at UIJ for a night on our trip to Tainan. The hotel is in the centre of the city and is very close to many attractions (and food!). UIJ only just started this March but is already very well run. The room was beautifully decorated. We have a record player in our room and countless vinyl records to choose from at the reception. Still and sparkling water plus fr...

Very nice hotel for a weekend stay. The place appeared to have been recently renovated and is very clean and comfortable. The location is not so convenient, unfortunately. It takes 15 minutes to walk to Tainan TRA Station or to Tainan Park. Longer to the main points of interest in the centre. However the hotel provides bikes free of charge. The staff is polite and i...

We are very impressed by the service of this hotel! The receptionists are always so kind, friendly and helpful. It's one of the best hotel in Tainan I've ever stayed. It's very clean, and surprise with such well designed room! The breakfast is delicious with good food quality and reasonble variety. Free self laundry! Strongly recommend to travelers!!!

It's a hotel with Cartoon Network's cartoons as a theme. Although the theme dint reflects much inside the room, you can find the characters at the hotel entrance, reception, OUTDOOR playground, and in their cafe as well! The room is comfortable and spacious (King Comfort Room), and we are fortunate to have a room with a view of Tainan City. The only flaw that they ha...

It was very centrally located, directly opposite the train station at the roundabout, and bus stops right outside the hotel leading to major attractions within Tainan city. The availability of barrier free access to cross the street from the train station makes reaching and leaving the hotel with large luggages easy and stress free. Daily breakfast was a joy to have ...

Though a little bit far from the central area of Tainan City, this hotel was pretty new and clean. Staff there were very kind and helpful. In addition, I had not expected too much on the breakfast served so I wasn't disappointed. Overall, the price of my room was very reasonable for the quality of this hotel.

Near Haian Rd. Convenient to move to the center part of Tainan. The room was clean. The bed was comfortable, but the insulation was bad. Thus, I woke up several times at night. It’s weird for my friends and I to be told that because you guys would stay in that room for 2 days, every time we go out, we need to return the key card back to the front desk. We were wonderin...

Everything was so great there. The location's very good, the room was very clean, quiet with comfortable beds, the staff were super nice, kind, and helpful, the complimentary buffet breakfast was very decent and delicious, and the breakfast area was open 24-7 for guests chatting or resting temporarily with coffee, tea, and milk tea self-served. It was our family's firs...

I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights. The room was quite spacious, modern, and comfy. I love the bluetooth mirror speaker, it is really a nice addition. Will definitely stay here if I come back to Tainan, and try their Beer Spa, it sounds wonderful! But the best thing about Beer Hotel is the staff members. They were really helpful, attentive, and caring. Every time they...

The hotel is a little hard to find down a small street, but our taxi had no problem getting there. Once found, it is easy to get walk to the main street and other nearby streets which are full of restaurants and other businesses. The hotel seems new. We really enjoyed the breakfast room, with a choice of three breakfasts -- chinese, american, and (we didn't try) vege...

Stayed at the female dorm for two nights. - Good Location: 3-min walk to Tainan train station and to a street full of local foodies. - The hostel is very new and clean. Stylishly furnished common area and kitchen. Dorm room was big, with table and chair inside the dorm room. There were spaces to put things beside each dorm bed. Lockers are huge enough to put everyth...

Hotel lobby is nicely decorated. Has a nice dining area for customers to eat their meals with foc coffee, tea and water available. Booked a quad room. Very clean spacious room, firm bed and sufficient toiletries are given. The staffs are very friendly and helpful, guided us on where to get nice food and get cab. There are 2 markets near hotel, Yong He market & Ya Mu Li...

When I entered the hotel, the staff were all smiles and super friendly. They were well prepared and the check in process was a breeze. The room was a little small but for the price, it's alright. The room has a very nice smell when I entered and there was no moist or smoke smell. Thumbs up! The breakfast did not suit my palette so I'd rather have breakfast outside. We...

We were very impressed by the professionalism and kindness of the staff in our regards. We must say that honestly, this attitude is not easy to find where we live in Europe. Our English being rather average, they made so many efforts to help and understand our numerous questions... Always sincere and smily !!! We will definitely go back to the Fu Ward Hotel Tainan dur...

Although is not a 5 stars hotel, the location is excellent. It is next to a big shopping mall and Tayih Landis is just beside it. Compared to Tayih Landis which cost twice of San Juan, i think San Juan would be the obvious choice if you are not fussy with the facilities. The hotel is clean, staff is friendly, room size quite decent Breakfast is normal. I will choose...

Overall my review for this hotel is okay, the room is clean, the bed is okay, location is nearby with convenience stores, bus stops, restaurants and night markets. We arrived in this hotel very early, around 9am, but we cannot check in until 3pm. It was a tiring day for us and we havent slept properly for 24 hours. So, we felt a little bit disappointed. We chose the Tai Dao hotel both for its location, just opposite the Tainan train station, and its very reasonable price! We were travelling from Chiayi to Tainan by train, then onwards to Kaohsiung also by train, so the location was ideal. Exiting the train station, you are confronted with a very large and very busy roundabout - this serves in part as Tainan’s bus te...

First and foremost I must thank the friendly counter staff who helped me with all my travel queries during my 5-day stay with this hotel. Location is perfect for walking around the heritage sites in Tainan city. My room was quiet and was facing a beautiful traditional courtyard clan house. Also as I left a T-shirt in the hotel, the hotel immediately mailed it back to ...
Cheap places to stay in Tainan City

Our stay was right before- and during a typhoon, so we were glad that there was a LED TV in the room. Whereas the accomodation is maybe average, the owner is a great guy if you speak (some) Chinese- he helped us a lot if we needed/wanted something. He even drove us to a scooter rental place that he knew and pressed the lady for some discount. She ended up giving us a 3...

Small dorm with only four beds so it was perfect. Clean room and clean bathroom. Near the train station (10min by walking) and there are two buses that goes near the seaside (5min by walking). The owner is really kind and he does his best to help people or create a social atmosphere in this hostel ( he arranged a meeting for the backpackers during my stay) I dont thin...

As a well travelled person who frequents these type of budget accommodations, you really notice when places do things right. After a long day of sightseeing, there are some things that are musts, as well as things that make life easier. Easy Inn delivers on both. The rooms are clean, modern and well appointed, so they are already off to a good start. I love a nice ho...

Very nice. Will definitely stay here if we happen to visit Tainan again! Love the idea of revitalizing a 50-year-old building! Wonderful common area where we can always chat with staff and other people. Got activities frequently, real fun. Extended our stay at Tainan for 2 days (and of course we chose to stay here). Real bargain.

Really enjoyed my stay there, really enjoyed Tainan. Would love to return to this city for more, and would definitely consider staying there again. Booked a double room, spacious, plenty of room for 2 big luggages. With table and side table. Toilet is cleaner than the picture seems, really satisfied with that. The lobby area is a gem. Full of books, magazines, pamp...

Its an only female allowed hostel. Had a came back home feeling when I stay there for 3 nights. Feeling great to stay here. Usage of washing machine is free, but they don't have dryer. Able to hang your cloth at their shuttled roof top. So no worries, it might catch the rain. Able to use anything in their pantry and their toiletries corner. There are 2 ways to get b...

Check-in is done in another building 1 km away from the dorm. And I have been told to go to the wrong one (in Mandarin, I received the English clarification way too late). Thankfully, a local helped me, but this was by far the most complicated check-in I've done. Coupled with the fact that Wifi only works for Facebook, that there is no staff present and that you have...

The staffs are informative and friendly about giving tips on where you should visit when you're in Tainan. It's location is only 2 mins walk from Tainan Station which definitely will make your life easier. On my arrival, they already offered me a map and recommended some local attractions. On the last day of my trip, thankfully I took their advice by staying in Tainan ...

The hostel is quite far from Tainan Train Station, need 25 mins by walking. I was placed in a female dorm of 12, fortunately, I still got a good sleep, no one snoring. I think the facilities are not enough when it is hosteling like 20+ ppl with only 2 toilets & 4 shower rooms.

365 hostel is located pretty near the Tainan TRA station. About 5 mins taxi ride or 20 minutes walk from the station. It is also located near many amazing Tainan local eateries and near some pretty good cocktail bars like TCRC and Longbar. The owner and his staff are very friendly and will chat you up. If you ask, they might go for a drink with you and tell you where...

located at a quiet community, the staff is cute and talkative, the room and lobby are clean and cozy. A little far from railway station, yet there's a bus route connected so it isn't a big problem to access. One of the best place to stay in Tainan, highly recommended when you travel to Tainan.

The owner and staff are super super friendly and awesome!! Environment is clean and cozy with surprises in every corner. They have a very chill rooftop space t and when I was there they held a BBQ event to bring everyone together. Really loved my stay at Dream Corner and would totally recommend it to anyone traveling to Tainan!

Generally, we had good experiences for the staying. The host offers cokes at such lower prices for all guests. The rooms have modern design with good and clean decoration Parking lots are at a broad parking space near by. However, there was some water leaking issues at the corner of the wall from the room's water heater closet (at the room's loft). It leaked water t...

it's my first time staying at hostel in Taiwan (I'm Taiwanese and usually book a suite). at the beginning, i'm worry about sharing room with strangers and the cleaness of the hostel. when i arrived You Lyu, i just realized that there is nothing should worry about. I was completely alone in whole hostel for most of the time, not even receptionist was there. It was nice in terms of privacy, but not that much if you travel alone, meeting people on a way. Also if you're not lucky only way how to check in is to call them. Which could be problem especially for foreigners without Taiwanese number. But owner promise to change it.

The hostel looks very brand new place so every thing was shine and clean. The host also well know about tourists. He recommend me to where to go and the places were very good. Location is a bit far from station but its easy to find when you just follow the google map.

Great care was put into design of the hotel and room service. Location was very near to Flower Garden nightmarket, 3 min walk plus point as Tainan transport is very lacking if you are going on your own. This is one of our favorite hotels ever. The facilities are very nice, although on an Asian (as in smaller) scale. The staff were extraordinarily helpful, and some were able to speak English and Japanese in addition to Mandarin. When we return to Tainan. We will most certainly stay at this hotel.
