Wonderful out of the way location with waterfront bungalows.Manager lady was super nice and very helpful.Family owned and still growing.Lovely small breakfast provided. No tv or fridge but wasn't missed. We enjoyed rented motorbike and the quiet shady country road this property was located on.Not a place for swimming in the ocean, rocky shoreline. The excursion to the beach side of this tiny island was so much fun we really want to return. If you want to get away and sleep to the sound of the waves outside your window, this is it.Masseuse was called for at our request and did not disappoint.Lovely memory
Run by a charming family with nice and helpful staff! The location is very peaceful, every bungalow is right next to the ocean. All houses are looking to the east so very beautiful to watch the sun rise.
Beautiful and quiet”
The location of this resort is very beautiful, at the very south tip of Koh Mak, so the only noise you'll hear is birds and the waves crashing on the rocky beach. While the snorkling is supposedly great, the waves we got on the days we were there made for poor visibility. The staff is very nice, with our hostess speaking fluent English. The food in the restaurant was good, but sadly of a bit varying quality. While the cashew nut chicken I got the first night was amongst the best I've ever had, the garlic and pepper pork was quite mediocre, with stringy bits and cartilage. We rented the "Deluxe Bungalow with Fan" (No AC). While the bungalow is new and very well made, with spacious rooms and a nice porch, they are made from concrete, which makes it very hot to be inside them between 11am and 4pm in the day. If you're planning on being on the beach or doing stuff this is of course no problem, but if you're planning on chilling in the bungalow, you should rather choose one with AC.
Wonderful location, clean rooms, helpful staff, cosy bed, quiet place...”
Perfect place, all bungalows directly facing the sea, no sounds of cars or anything, only sea frogs and birds...it is not on walking distance from any beach or bar but you can rent bike or motorcycle. Wonderful unspoilt island! Ask the staff for the map to discover the best places. Staff is helpful and really really nice and cleaning is very good.
Secluded Homely Bungalows”
This place is remote by Koh Mak standards although nowhere is too far away if you hire a bike. The food is good particularly for dinner. Breakfast was included however it was not an option just what was served. It doesn’t really have a beach however you can swim off the rocks.
Perfect place if you want peace and quiet. ”
I really enjoyed the stay here.the food was excellent and the staff was very very nice. There is nothing much to do but you can rent motorbike if you want to go to a lovely beach or find some more restaurants. It was easy to get there by speedboat , which dropped you off and picked you up at the resort. Very convenient. The room was great. Very clean and fresh. Buil t a couple of months ago. The view when you wake up is stunning while you are watching the sunrise. I highly recommend this place .
If you can ride a motorbike, it's a good choice staying here.”
I stayed here for 3 nights, and had fun. A motorbike is a must, cuz there is not restaurant within the walking distance. I had tried my first meal on the island in this hotel restaurant, which was really salty for me. And all the staff are very nice and helpful. Especially the young boy, who picked me up and sent me to the pier has a friendly and sunshine smile. And a pity is that there was a big storm and the stairs to the sea was destroyed. I could not swim here.
very nice place,,...good food. + : very quiet, new houses have good (hard) matrasses, family business, oké price for beachfront , very clean. no traffic, only thing you hear is the ocean and jungle....super peacefull - : fridge in the room woud be Nice, matrasses in the older houses are really really bad. Ask for bungalow 7~15. Wi-Fi signal is very weak
Excellent, value for money, in a peaceful location”
The best place to stay in Koh Mak; quiet and peaceful which is very suitable for you to relax and refresh. The location is excellent; the bungalows are right on the beach so you can hear the sound of waves. The owner and all staff are friendly and helpful. I really recommend.
The best place to stay in Koh Mak;
A wonderful and quiet place perfect for a rest”
Super helpful and friendly staff, perfect breakfast, great food. Mornings overlooking the sea will be remembered for a long time :) I would highly recommend!
Excellent Cottages a little of the beaten path”
The BEST Thai restaurant on the island. You can rent a moped there which you will need. The cottages are available with AC and without so make sure to let them know in advance. An extremely nucecThai family owns and runs the place. No swimming here....but the island has beautiful accessible beaches.
Great place, clean , peaceful & valueble price. Recommended for the traveler who loves nature.”
The provided info. is accurate. Nice place, nice view. Great place for sunset/sunrise shooting. Clean and the owner is very nice and helpful. The Local food provided is very fresh and yummy feel like food at home. Recommended for the traveler , backpacker especially for the foreigners who love the peaceful , love the nature and sun bathing. It might not be suitable for Thai people / family who love the beach. Only take a rest , relax, read a book or chill out, this place is very recommended. Last but not least, thank you very much for my great vacations. See you then ^^ Love !!!
I enjoyed my little bungalow right next to the ocean, and swinging on the hammock outside my door. The resort is family run and Name and her mother were wonderful to me--Name helped me rent a bike and offered to drive me to the pier when I left the island. Her mother's cooking is fabulous and I'm just sorry I didn't have a chance to eat more meals there. I would love to go back some time--thank you for everything!
Location is very remote. You should consider renting a motorcycle, can be done onsite, as the road to the resort is quite long. Also expect snakes and other jungle animals on it. Wifi did not work for most of our stay( it also has very weak security setup) Based on the locaation don’t expect AIS to have 4G reception. Breakfast was ok but dull. Omelette or fried with sausage and toast. Cats on property thet will extort you for food. Expect a lot of lizards even in your hut. No fridge in the room or any kettle(you would expect it in Deluxe one at least) Good food at local restaurant but quite pricey. Staff was very good.
Lovely quiet location. Sea was quite rough for kayak landing.”
We arrived by kayak at dusk so had an entertaining landing. Lovely quiet location & good food which was very welcome. Small settlement nearby to walk to but we were late arriving so stayed at the resort.
Love the relaxed, fuss free atmosphere. There are hammocks on the beachfront underneath the tree shade to read your favourite book or just relax or look at the horizon. The resort serves simple bacon and egg brekky. You can rent scooter from the resort. This resort is a perfect getaway from concrete jungle.
Really worth the money”
The staffs are very nice. Worth the money the room is lovely with the seaview and breakfast was delicious.
lovely staff who are friendly and helpful”
A great wee place to stay if you like peace and quiet. They can help organise excursions or renting of a motorbike. Would recommend.
Not what I hoped fot”
There is not enough room here to tell you everything that was wrong. This might tell you: After 1 night (of 3 scheduled), we left and lost all the money for the next two nights. It was not worth it to stay. I could use the money back, but I didn’t care, I just wanted out. The ad in the app suggested you would be next to the water in a bungalow. We were close to the water but there was no beach. Only big waves and big rocks. I must have missed that detail when I booked the room. This place may be one of the remotest on the island. No wifi in the room and the room was a 10 to 15 minute walk to the public area. And I had to pay 200 TB extra each night, or move to a smaller dirtier room. Very weak telephone service. We left after one night and never looked back. I learned a lot about booking hotels in places I had never been. I WILL NOT USE AN ONLINE BOOKING SERVICE AGAIN I don’t recommend this hotel.
