Simple Relaxing Talisay Stay”
We stayed at Talisay Green Lake Resort the night before a family stay at Canyon Woods to maximize the drive. We weren't expecting a lot but was pleasantly surprised with the excellent staff, peaceful lake view and a nice pool. Room was basic and a not new but aircon was cold and bathroom was clean. Simple family atmosphere, there's a swing set, and we spent the afternoon just looking at the view. Only drawback was the restaurant closes at 6 or 7 and you need to go drive out if hunger hits you a bit later in the evening, otherwise we had a great stay.

Very simple hotel with a view”
The simplicity of the hotel is offset by the friendliness of the owner, Emma, and her staff. The villa, which we occupied, was very spacious but cleanliness was not of top priority. The shampoo sachets and used soap left by its previous occupants were not taken away and there seemed to be no staff assigned to clean the villa on a daily basis. There was no hot shower although the villa is the most expensive accomodation in the resort. Don't expect to get any meals in the restaurant if you did not give notice in advance since there is no on site cook. Breakfast was not included in the booking. You had to order breakfast a la carte. The resort did arrange for package tours to the crater which included lunch back at the resort. Not many eating places in the nearby vicinity. The better restaurant was located at another resort called Balai Isabela which was a 10 minute drive from Talisay Green Lake. If you are only looking for a place to sleep and not very picky about details, this is the place to stay.

Beautiful place”
Just lovely. The couples room was small but that's okay because we spent only part of the night time there watching a little and sleeping, etc. The facilities are great and the boat ride to the volcano was so much fun. Great pool, great Nipa huts with a view to the lake and volcano island.

Nice pool, pity about the meals”
This small resort right on the lake shore at Talisay has own boats to access the island. Boats same price as others but small size of the Resort reduced chances of sharing the boat hire cost. Grounds were well maintained. Rooms were not new or large but were adequate and clean. Staff were friendly. The only let down was the quality of the meals. First meals were so bad we caught a tricycle into Talisay for lunch on the second day. Subsequent meals were (a little) better.

Not really a resort, but helpful staff”
The room was very basic, not so clean, and small, with a cold water shower only. Also the resort has very limited facilities, e.g. there is a swimming pool but no chairs, beds or similar to relax. You can view the lake and vulcano island, but no chairs or tables at lake site. You can have breakfast and dinner, but you need to order it in advance (before 5pm), the nearest restaurants and shops are in Talisay (about 2 km from the resort). When we arrived at the resort at 6pm, everything was closed and we could not get any meals. We had several problems with the room, tour, food and facilities. The staff really tried to solve the problems, and were very helpful, but could only solve things partly; some things are simply not there or not possible.

Ok place by the lake.”
Overall a pleasant stay but one or two minor points niggled. We stayed 2 nights. We ordered dinner on the first night and went to dining room at the right time. The meals were served cold. Breakfast tea/coffee was served with creamer powder. I didn't expect fresh milk but at least UHT carton milk or condensed milk.Toast was warmed bread not properly toasted.Shower is cold water only. Curtains don't keep out the light. Boat trip to the lake was in a boat with no shelter from the sun or waves. We were cooked and soaked both ways. Boat man shouted at us to give 2 kids 50 pesos to walk 2 steps up a bit of wood to get on the boat. I would expect getting on and off the island to be Included. We were humiliated. A group of 4 ahead of us went on a proper covered boat.

Mixed feelings”
My girlfriend was bitten pretty bad by bed bugs on the last day of our stay. THe all the food displayed on the menu was never available in the 3 days we were there. Wifi was only available in the office which wasn't explained when we booked the hotel. Internet was down when we arrived and the hotel staff had no clue we had made our reservation and we had no clue our reservation was not recieved by 3rd party booking service. That being said the food they did have was delicious and the staff there were incredibly kind.

For the Budget Travellers”
We stayed here only as a place to sleep as we were heading out early the next morning to traverse Mt Maculate. When I say early I mean 2:30am in the morning. Trying to find a tricycle driver at that time in the morning is VERY DIFFICULT!!! We were just lucky (It is actually illegal to be picking up passengers at that time) If you do plan on leaving that early in the morning like we did be sure to have a flash light as the main road is PITCH BLACK at that time of the night. Or have your own transportation organised. lol Place was pretty cheap, beds felt like they had bugs on it but like we said this was only a place for us to get shut eye we stayed cause we were visiting Mt Taal. But when we arrived at Mt Maculate he suggested to stay at that area as boats from there are much cheaper (P200)! Also restaurant here was lacking, half the items on the menu was 'NOT AVAILABLE'!

Big Differences.”
Some rooms are in poor condition, are very small, do not have TV, do not have air conditioning, and do not have hot water. Other rooms are very comfortable so check the room and ask for what you want. Internet is only available if you sit in the garage. After you take a boat ride over to see the volcano there isn't much else to do. The pool is not very inviting and there is no place to sit and relax around the pool. The food is acceptable at the restaurant on site. Otherwise, there is one restaurant in town 2 km away.

Quiet and Very Friendly Staff”
Place is so quiet, clean surrounding and very friendly staff.. One thing that me and my partner got disappointed was on their bedroom esp their beds have a bed bugs.. And the pool was not clean so we decided not to swim that time too..

Poor lodging facilities”
The rooms and facilities of the resort is already old and cramped. It is not world class, but good for budget local tourists.

Never answer calls or emails ”
Our flight was delay and we arrived at 11pm, there was no one to give us a room, we waited for almost 2 hours, exhausted, shouting and feeling hopeless in the middle of nowhere. Finally someone came and gave us an extremely dirty room. So so discusting, the toilet seat was broken, no towels, full of dust. The food the next morning was terrible. The only good thing was that it was super near the volcano and we could take a boat right there.
