Good place to stay in Tam Coc”
Firstly I must say that this hostel is in the great location to travel around Tam Coc, Bich Dong and Mua Cave. That's why I choose to stay here again 2nd time. The service is ok with free breakfast but things in their restaurant are expensive. I think this is the only place that you can have fun with your friends whole night in Tam Coc.

Good for a short stay”
If you're going to Ninh Binh it's likely because you're there to see Tam Coc etc. This location was good because it is close to the sight-seeing areas. They have a happy hour deal that gets you 1 beer (they say two glasses but that's about 1 bottles beer), rice wine and some nuts to snack on. The rooms are comfortable- the beds have clean and comfortable mattresses and curtains on the lower bunks. The bathroom doesn't have hot water which is okay. Everything about this place is good except for the staff. The owners run this hostel and The Long Hotel next door and they are all about the money- when you order food they demand the money right away. I also asked to borrow the phone and they asked me to pay $15,000 dong for a 30 second call. There aren't a ton of options in this location for places to stay so it is alright for 1 or 2 nights.

Bit confusing”
The hostel/hotel is actually 2 sites, one of which is across the road from the actual hostel (which is where we stayed). Aside from that initial confusion, the hotel was actually really nice and close to everything to do in Tam Coc

Value for money”
We went for a cheap opinion in tam coc and this place fulfilled our needs. The staff was nice, giving us the opportunity to take a shower before jumping on the bus.

It was OK”
As predicted, they sent us to "The Long" hostel at the opposite side of the road, we were fine with it. The architecture of the "The Long" hotel is beautiful and special, it looks like an old French style building. They have a big eating area. For breakfast, at the time we were there, we can have bread, fried rice, fried eggs, fried noodles with cabbage. For dessert and drink, we had watermelon and pineapple. They also have vegan restaurant near by. There are a few bars, restaurants, shops, convinient stores in the walking distance. The room is quite clean. But they didn't have many facilities in the room so you should bring your own. We didn't like the bath room so much. It is quite old and doesn't look so clean. The staff was friendly, but when I asked him for a Taxi phone number, he "helped" us call taxi for us, even though I insisted on calling taxi by myself. And the taxi charged us 70,000 VND to go to Bich Dong. On our way back, we tried another taxi (Mai Linh taxi 0229.6.25.25.25), and it just costs 50,000 VND. So if you stay at this hotel, I highly recommend you to call taxi by yourself rather than ask the staff to call taxi for you. They have bikes for rent, for about 1.3$/day, and motorbikes for rent as well.

Okay stay”
We actually ended up being put up at the across the road hotel - the Long Hotel (same owner). This meant a quieter vibe which we were happy for as a couple but the hotel is quite run down and appears mid-renovation. Unfortunately this translated into a leak in our bathroom, but the bedroom was nice, simple & clean. Breakfast was great though (lots to choose from) and they let us shower before booking a taxi to the station for us - much appreciated. The location is great for the Tam Coc boat trip and seemed pretty busy with backpackers.

Believe there is better places around”
First of all we lived in a hotel on opposite side of tbe street that belongs to the same person apparently. The wifi didn't work on tbe seco d floor and they kept on promising to fix it. The hotel looks quite abandoned so it feels kind of awkward. The reception is sometimes there, sometimes in the hostel and most of the times non existant. The brekfast is wuite ok but don't go right at the start of it. It wont be ready. First day we basically got an empty plate while the next day it was 2 full plates each. Never ever take their bus deal + free hostel in anotger city. You will get the worst place possible. The room itself is quite alright so if you don't an on communicating too much with the staff, that should do it for a 2 night stay.

Amazing stuff, funny stay”
The staff was amazing and super funny. They picked me up from the bus and welcomed me really nice. The hostel for itself is not the best I've stayed in. Not enough towels for everyone, you always had to ask for new toiletpaper and the rooms were really moisty. And on the first night were bed bugs in my friends bed. But the staff moved us to another dorm and cleaned the whole room the next day and washed my friends clothes in hot water. They also said it was their first time having bed bugs. However, the food and breakfast was also really good. Just the moisty rooms and the bed bugs were annoying. But all in all I enjoyed my stay.

Felt like home ”
Really one of the best places I found in Vietnam. A super warm atmosphere, the family makes you feel part of it and you are treated with special care. Comfortable rooms, perfect cleanliness and a delicious breakfast! I hope to return!

My first one-star review ”
I've been traveling in Asia for almost 7 months and this is the first one-star review I have given. I'm almost certain the reviews posted on Agoda are FAKE as none of the guests we talked to in this entire hotel were happy. The following will be a diatribe on all the reasons you should never ever book at this place. FIRST the hotel is not as advertised - it is actually the Long Hotel across the street. When we arrived they assured us it was "run by the same family." The room seemed good on first site - spacious, amenities, lots of natural light. We overlooked that the foundation is completely wonky and my vertigo told me I was in a fun-house. The entire facade seemed to be under construction - which we should have taken as a bad sign. A few hours after check-in the drilling started. During our entire stay sawing, stone sanding, and jackhammering ensued from 7 am till 8 pm. I'm not making this up, they started jack-hammering at 7am. Dust was everywhere and all this over a major Vietnamese holiday weekend. Then as soon as the hammering stopped the actual backpackers hostel across the street (thank god we weren't staying in) started blasting loud music till 12 or 1am. Then when THIS stopped all the backpackers started singing on the top of their lungs till 5 am. On the last day I had to walk out of my room at 7am to ask a pair of red-eyed boozers to stop playing Elton John at the top level from their BEATS speakers outside of our door, but don't worry the jack hammering started 10 minutes later. Did I mention the whole room smelled like sewage? We made a joke that we should have passed gas as an air freshener one evening. But honestly it would have improved the smell. Also we tried to rent bikes one day and every one was completely ruined. Had to get our money back and walked down the street to a beautiful resort and rented brand new bikes for the same price. Breakfast was garbage. I've never had eggs that tasted less like eggs before. Oh yea and every time we ask

So much fun! ”
Had so much fun at this place! Great location - best bar was the one right across the street. If you get a chance to meet & hang out with T (the bartender) he is the BEST and will make sure you are having a good time! Such a cute little town with lots of character and opportunity for fun outdoor adventure. Wish I could have stayed here longer - I will definitely be back one day!

Avoid at all costs”
I couldn’t stress the point of avoiding this property more. Myself and another solo backpacker booked into the 20 person dorm room based on the “hurry only four beds remaining”. We felt this would be a good option as we could meet other backpackers. When we arrived we were the first ones there. We got breakfast which was a poor egg baguette and left us feeling sick. We left and later that day upon returning there was no one else in the room. The common area was also fully occupied by Chinese tourists leaving us with no choice but to go to our dorm room. The staff had little to no English and couldn’t assist us in anything we inquired about. When we once again returned to our hostel that evening at 23:00 that night and there were 4 people drinking in the bar playing music that was ridiculously loud. When I went down to the bar and asked if they could turn it down for their only two guests of the residences they told us no. The aircon in the room didn’t work and we had to rely on ineffective fans. The bed was hard as a rock and the pillows wafer thin. The hostel worker went to his bed however played music/watched tv until 3 oclock which prevented me from sleeping as the barrier wall was actually a curtain. To really take this piss we had our dorm room locked and at 5 in the morning were woken up by banging of the door by one of the workers to allow two new guests enter the room. As I said avoid at all costs

Unfriendly staff”
I talked to several backpackers at the hotel and they all had the same impression: the staff is not motivated, seems to be bothered by hotel clients and does not even look up to you while talking. I kindly asked them to wash my laundry but they simply forgot about it. When I wanted to leave, they ''helped'' me with the booking of the train ticket. At the train station I was told that the hotel made me pay almost the double amount of the normal train ticket.
