Memorable stay”
Our stay here was very memorable! The staff was very accommodating and they were very eager to learn English. Since we travelled with 2 university culinary / hospitality professors, they taught them some basic English phrases and some hospitality lessons. The lobby is located directly beside the limestone karsts, which makes this a one-of-a-kind accommodation. The rooms, shared bathroom, and lobby are all clean. Our room had a beautiful view overlooking the mountains and a small stream outside. They also called for a Mai Linh taxi to fetch us from the hotel to Ninh Binh train station which was nice. Free breakfast is included, but not too special. Wifi was weak though inside the rooms, so you have to go to the lobby for a strong connection. What's special with this accommodation are its accommodating and friendly staff, and excellent location. A little tucked away from the main road, the road leading to the homestay passes through a field / rice paddies with an amazing view of Ninh Binh karsts. You can also walk around the area at the back of the homestay building, leading to a large area full of rice fields / lake, and mountains. There's also a shop selling beautifully embroidered linens, table cloths, table runners, and others, just opposite the road leading to the homestay. If you want to stay at a different area, somewhere quiet, but not too secluded, this is a perfect accommodation :)

Wonderful stay”
This Homestay is one of the best I went in Vietnam. The beds in dorms are very comfortable, facilities are new, hot shower and good pressure. The location is in one of the most beautiful landscape I've seen and the staff at the reception is very kind. Tam Coc is stunning. Highly recommended!

Great location, comfortable, friendly staff”
A very nice place to stay, a little off the main road in Tam Coc in a stunning area of rice fields and limestone rocks! Spacious rooms, clean bathrooms. Perfectly friendly staff, on our last day we were going to take the night bus and it was no problem at all to leave our backpacks behind all day. They even let us take a free shower in the afternoon! Highly recommended.

Excellent HomeStay”
I found this place on Agoda and it was indeed an excellent stay. It was walking distance (approx 400m) from the center of Tam Coc (Center of the Town) . Also the family was very welcoming and the Breakfast and meals were superb :). I would recommend this Home-stay for anyone :) It's Awesome !!

Great location and superb view in Tam Coc with great value for money imo. The bed is large for a shared room hostel. The downside was the lack of lockers in the shared room.

very nice place”
The first meeting was complicated because we booked through agoda and thought we had already paid and they received a booking from booking.com saying we should pay at the hotel... Finally they were right and agoda is very complicated.... after that everything was OK. very good beeakfast, nice peoples, very driendky and efficient. We had a diner with all the guests and with the owner which was very nice with a lot of rice alcool... The hotel is in a very quiet and nice place very close to city center. The only problem we met was with a bike : it was not very good and we had to come back to the hotel by feet after the wheel stayed stucked.... Be careful of this but for the rest, probably one of the best place to stay in Tam Coc

Very friendly home stay in Tam Coc ”
The home stay hosted by this family in TamCoc was very good. The family unfortunately couldn’t understand too much of English. You might have to use google translate for special requests. The food provided by the family was delicious. If you book a dorm stay or a double room, the bathroom is shared. But very clean and extremely homely. A lot of scooters available on the property to rent. The family is warm and welcoming to all kinds of needs. Coffee, tea and rice wine is available at all times without any costs ;) good location as well. We highly enjoyed the stay here at this bamboo themed stay.

Amazing dinner, friendly staff”
First and foremost, the dinners here were really really tasty and huge in portions - the two of us were even able to share one dish and be full! The staff, especially the owner and the tourism info man are all very courteous and friendly, though only the aforementioned man speaks English fluently. For some reason we thought our private room had an ensuite bathroom, but in reality there were two shared bathrooms for the 2nd floor. They were clean and stocked with soap at all times. But, for the price paid, it doesn't compare to other private rooms in Vietnam with ensuite bathrooms. Our room was comfortable and well-furnished, and nicely decorated with bamboo. But, it smelled heavily of cigarette smoke. The surrounding area is amazing, with karst cliffs and rice fields, so cool! Hope you have a motorcycle or are okay to pay for transport because it's pretty much in the middle of nowhere. Overall, we wanted to stay longer as it was a peaceful place.

Booked The Bamboo Homestay for three nights through Agoda but, upon our arrival we were informed that they had no more rooms. The host fed us pancakes and rice wine (both very nice) and then scootered us to a nearby hotel for the night. In the morning we were informed that there was no room for us at Bamboo for our second night, but that we should join them for a free hotpot dinner as an apology. (I heard a backpacker was injured on a scooter and was unable to vacate his room. I also met at least four people at Bamboo that should have departed our second day. I dunno.) At dinner the second night we were asked to pay 50% for our dinners (which was offered as no-charge earlier), and they again apologized. The dinner was good and the other Bamboo guests were friendly. While leaving dinner we were told there would definitely be a room for our third night. We didn't really trust that information. In the morning they called to tell us they had no room for us for a third night. We had already planned on not moving back to Bamboo. Honestly, we had a great time staying at the Thanh Xuyen Hotel on the Main Street in Tam Coc and wouldn't have found them if Bamboo hadn't mastered the art of running a hotel and turning away prepaid customers for three consecutive nights. Thanh rented us scooters, cooked us breakfast whenever we happened to get out of bed, and even scoured the streets with me for hours when I lost my wallet in town. Yes we enjoyed the town, but couldn't really recommend Bamboo to anyone. Stay with Thanh!

They had organize "big family dinner" costing 100.000vnd/person but the food isnt good as expected. For me i think next time i will wander around and drop by any restaurant near Tam Coc. There are many restaurants outside with great food and acceptable price.

Clean place good staff”
Homestay is really nice. Staffs are really friendly but the upper bed is really hard to climb up. The homestay is not that far from main street but the alley to the homestay looks quite dark but overall I really enjoyed staying here.

A bit quiet, but great owners. ”
It is a quiet place to stay, being just located off the main strip, but the owners really make the place. The guy who works reception is very polite and formal. I'm not sure where he learned English but it's kind of funny talking to him. He's always offering tea and asking if there's anything else he can do. The woman who owns the place is amazing and not to be messed with. I was a ill on my last night so she gave me lunch with the family (for free) and then sent me to bed even though I'd already checked out, she told me that she was not a hotel and therefore to get back to bed. Everything is clean and new. The dorms are small and the beds are comfortable. It's was a little cold and damp, but I think that was just the weather. The bathrooms are great too.

It is more a guesthouse than a homestay. We went for the family dinner but it was only two of us and staff only sitting at the table and staring at us while we were eating.

perfect location for a cave expedition the next days! the room was smelly and the sheet was a bit dirty! The rooster start rooring at 3am wich was really annoyong! the receptionist was really friendly!

Love love love ”
So myself and a friend had a double room. It smelt a bit funky (like stale smoke) but was super clean.. as were the shared bathrooms. The staff were hilarious and generally amazing. Expect copious amounts of rice wine at the big family dinner as well as good food!

Great stay for the money”
I really enjoyed this hotel. It is in a beautiful location, the hotel is clean and quiet, and the staff were all very nice and helpful. I stayed in the dormitory, which had AC and some of the nicest bunk beds I've slept on. I'd definitely come back here.

We had a problem with our booking in Agoda, as it said we booked for two people but when we arrived the manager told us that we have booked only for one people/one bed. It was Agoda's fault we think and we claimed to stay anyway not paying more. They finally allowed us to stay in one bed, which for us was ok. Although this little problem, the staff was really kind and friendly. We were staying there during TET holidays and they cooked dinner for all guests for free. It was really good! Breakfast was ok and toilets too. However, the dorm room was a bit smelly...

Charming place, worth walking 300m from the road”
Very nice little place, much better than the dingier places in town where I also stayed. However, it is very quiet so as a solo traveller it's not the best place to meet people. Once some friends joined me there I loved it - clean, comfortable, and staffed by a lovely team.
