I have never felt so comfortable and welcoming as I did at the Tam Coc Smile Homestay. They took so good care of me and made sure I had a good stay. The room was clean and the bed was really comfortable. The food at the place was so nice. I only wish for everybody else to go here and get the same lovely experience as I did.

I really enjoy my stay at this homestay: inside Tam Coc, you can rent a bicycle or a motorbike easily and go wander in the beautiful nature nearby. The dorm was clean, with space. And you can rest in the small but cozy courtyard of the house. The family is super nice and so kind. And as mentionned in other comments, the breakfast is huge! I totally recommend this homestay :)

This is the best place ever!!!”
The family who runs this homestay / guesthouse is so fantastic. Staying here ended up being one of our favorite experiences during our two months in Vietnam. The basics -- our room and bed were super comfortable, the shared bathrooms spotless, the courtyard nice for lingering. Breakfast was included and fantastic. We rented bikes for a very reasonable price, and found this a great way to see lots of Ninh Binh. But it's the family that makes this place so great. Mom is the generous heart of the place, and when her brothers and sisters came for a family dinner it was so much fun, and we felt so lucky to be warmly included. Son is the operations manager, running things efficiently and well. Daughter is mom's right hand, quiet and charming. And Dad ("my name Nghiem, age 49") is social and funny, keeping the cheer (and the whiskey) rolling. To clarify, it's not a party place, but warmly social with the family and other guests. Lots of laughter, and great memories. Thank you!!!

Sweetest family...”
I arrived in the middle of the night and they were so kind to set up a place for me to rest until daylight. I came from Phong Nha at 3 am and they warmly welcomed me at that hour. The sweetest family with the best home meals. Breakfast is huge and filling. If I get a chance to visit Tam Coc I'd definitely stay there again.

One of my favorite places I’ve ever stayed. The family that owns it is extremely helpful and super friendly. They serve an amazing breakfast and every couple of nights you can pay a little extra for a great home cooked meal. Would highly recommend to anyone traveling to Tam Coc

Convenient located and really big breakfast”
Close to the bus station (5min walking) and in the centre of Tam Coc. Really good for two days stay. Clean place and friendly stuff. And the breakfast was huge and good (pancake, eggs, bread and a lot of fruits) Biggest negative point is that the room has no window.

Friendly Family Homestay”
The family was extremely friendly and nice. Rooms and bathrooms were clean and modern. The beds were comfortable. The location is far from Trang An and some of the tourist attractions in the Ninh Binh area. It is close to the bus stop though.

Smile homestay is a great place to stay. The guy who owns it is super nice, communicating through google translate...just be prepared to drink plenty of his homemade rice wine! His son is the one who speaks the most english and provides lots of information on what to do in the area. The breakfast is tasty and huge...we ended up taking what we couldnt it for lunch each day. The family restaurant nearby is also a good place to go eat in the evening.

It was one of the best places I have ever stayed at in Asia. The family that runs it is unbelievably hospitable. They invited us to have dinner with them each night. They even made special food for a vegetarian that was there. The last night there we ate on the floor of their house with what seemed to be their entire extended family.. Was a great way to meet others staying at the homestay and have an authentic Vietnamese experience. There was copious amounts of homemade rice whiskey as well. Breakfast in the morning was great! Rented a motorbike through them and got my train ticket to Hue as well. Walking distance to restaurants and bars. Can’t say enough good things about staying here. Will definitely be back! Just book here! You won’t regret it!

What a find this place was! Quiet but had the perfect atmosphere. The family were amazing, very helpful, very friendly, constantly feeding you food and coffee. Who can complain with that! Seems like the homestay are just starting up so they're trying to get their name out there. I would defitnely stay here again, I was sad leave after 3 brilliant nights!! 5***** Free bicycles are available and the motorbikes are around $4 a day! Loved it here!!!!

The breakfast was amazing, the room was really clean and there are plugs everywhere in the 4 bed "dorm". Its a very good place to relax and very close to the boat tours. The owners were really nice, giving us free shots and wanting to talk to us. Ive loved my stay at this homestay. I most certainly recommend this place

We stayed for 3 nights and it was very enjoyable. The people who run this homestay are very welcoming and friendly and they provided us with everything we needed. The included breakfast is great and the family dinner that you can pay for is huge and also really good! My boyfriend was feeling sick and they gave him some medication and porridge which was so sweet :) I would definitely stay here and again and recommend to anyone!

dorms were really clean and the bathroom was nice. Has hot water, extra toothbrushes, shampoo and soap. The family had dinner outside on the patio and invited the four of us that were there- it was delicious! The family was so friendly and the rice wine didnt stop. The owner of the homestay is young and very knowledgeable. He gave me a map and helped me book a bus ticket and gave me the cheapest bike rate I could find. Would stay again!

This homestay was the best place I have stayed in Vietnam! The family were incredibly friendly and helpful for every need. They often allowed us to sit with them for family dinner and included a great breakfast. I will be staying again. Do not expect a parry hostel but do expect a good time with nice local people.

We arrived on the train late but the mother insisted on serving pho for us and while the father gave us homemade plum wine. The family was so nice and helpful whenever we needed anything. The room was basic but nice with a shared bathroom. Breakfast was massive and awesome we got bread, cheese, egg, pancakes, fruit, and coffee. They rented us a bike at a reasonable price and helped us arrange transport back to Hanoi. Very sweet family with a nice home. We recommend this place!

Holy crap, the breakfast”
You won't need lunch. The breakfast is huge. The family doesn't speak a ton of English, but it was enough to rent a motorbike from them (for cheap!) and interact with them. I ended up sleeping in the living room a few nights as they were overbooked, but that meant I didn't have to sleep in a dorm! I'm pretty sure the breakfast was worth more than what I paid for the dorm room. They also have heat and AC in the rooms if you're there in the extremes.

Had an amazing experience with the local family. ”
AC remote was left in room which is not always the case. Breakfast is more food than you can possibly eat!! The dad taught me how to cheers in Vietnamese and shared his rice wine with us. I got sick one day and the mom went out and bought me medicine/ made me porridge. They are also great with early check-in as we arrived at 4:30am and had a bed to sleep on. No complaints!!
