Exceptional”
This is a lovely homestay with greenery and great hospitality. The property is close to Thien Mu Pagoda and the Perfume River (sông Hương). There are only four houses, in which there are quiet, comfortable and spacious rooms. The garden is full of fruits and flowers. Meals, bicycle- and motorcycle-for-rents available upon request. The accommodation is a means of support for the social centre next door. Therefore, you can also visit the children there if you want to share and spread your love.

Fantastic”
We had a great time at Tam Tinh Vien Homestay. Our welcome was outstanding. Owner mr Garcia took time and great effort to show us around and took us on the bikes (complimentary) around the peaceful and rural countryside (no tourists to be seen). With his homestay mr Garcia finances an orphanage next door, which is fantastic and all the more reason to stay here if you plan to go to Hue. We had great contact with the children and were even invited to dinner. Tam Tinh is only a few miles out of the city of Hue and very close by the Perfume river and the famous ancient Pagoda. We were happy to stay out of the city and in a non-touristic little village. You can hire motorbikes for only 5 dollars a day (!) or take the bike for free. Our children (aged 9 and 12) loved it here and so did we. The room is more like a small house (very spacious, with even an inside and outside bathroom!) in a very beautiful garden where breakfast is served. There are only two rooms; we were the only guests during our stay so we had it all to ourselves. All in all, Tam Tinh Vien Homestay is a gem!

Exceptional”
Our two nights at the Tam Tinh Vien Homestay were the highlight of our trip to Vietnam. The place was just incredible! The bungalow that we slept in was beautiful, spacious and very clean. Moreover, the free breakfast provided and the dinner on the first night were spectacular. The food was delicious and the owners were so generous for taking the time to explain it all to us. What was even more amazing that all of the fresh produce were grown on the property and the pastries for breakfast were baked by the school children. They also went above and beyond to order us a taxi when we needed and to make us a take-away breakfast when we had an early tour. And to top it all off, all of the profit for the rooms goes straight to a school/orphanage that is run on site. I could not recommend this accomodation enough. If you are staying in Hue then this Tam Tinh View Homestay is a MUST!

Our most memorable stay in Vietnam!”
We had the absolute pleasure of staying at Tam Tinh Vien early January 2014. Everything about our stay was fantastic. If you're ok with being out of town a little, you'll find TTV approx 10-15min cab ride from Hue city, tucked away in a lovely little village. Jean and his family are amazing hosts and welcomed us warmly. Our villa was spacious, clean and full of Vietnamese charm and the surrounding garden and pond are incredibly tranquil. If you stay, don't pass up dinner..the food is fantastic! Breakfast was also lovely with fruit juices, eggs, fresh breads, jams and fresh fruits and good coffee, or Vietnamese style if you wanted. Jean kindly arranged a boat for us to travel into Hue city along the Perfume River and via the Thien Mu pagoda, then to the Forbidden City. The relaxing boat trip down the river gave us another insight into village life, riverside. Catch a cab back, but remember to take a business card with TTV's address & phone number. We struggled to find a driver who knew how to get there, and both drivers we did use, had to call for directions. Just down the road from TTV is the place for your Vietnamese rolls, the village bakery. Their coconut buns are delicious when they're warm! Take the time to stroll through the narrow streets and enjoy the pleasure of the people, especially the kids..they love saying hi! But the huge bonus is that the fee you pay goes straight to providing for the orphanage next door. We can't wait for a chance to visit again some day.

A wonderful place to stay in Hue”
Tam Tinh Vien Homestay is a short taxi ride outside of Hue, along a beautiful stretch of the Perfume River. Our host Jean is a busy man but despite this was very generous with his time, showing us around the property, the school and the orphanage that he has built with his wife. The apartment itself was designed with a keen eye for detail and was both elegant and comfortable. Our only regret was that we couldn't stay longer.

lovely vietnamese place to stay. LOVED IT”
We were a group of 5 staying there 2 nights. Tam Tinh Vien has 2 traditional style houses. each one with 2 double beds. the place is beautiful relaxing place. But don't worry it's really easy access. taxi costs about 120.000VND to get there but if the weather is nice just get a bike, it's all flat to get to Hue. The breakfast is excellent. Well real orange juice and it will be just PERFECT ;-) I'll stay there again for sure!!!!

Quiet area with spacious rooms”
Although we only stayed one night at Tam Tinh Vien Homestay we had a pleasant stay. The hotel proceeds go to the orphanage next door and the children there are very sweet and friendly. The hotel is very far from the city center so I would not stay there unless you have your own motorbikes. Breakfast was good and the rooms were very spacious and clean. There was no Wifi in the rooms and sometimes we couldn't find any staff to help us and we would have to look next door for someone. Otherwise everyone was very nice and the grounds were very quiet and peaceful.

amazing homestay, loved it”
Arrived in hue early in the morning and got a taxi to the homestay. They let us check in and shower at about 9am at no charge. The owner then got us on bikes and took a for a free tour around hue. Learnt more about vietnam from him then anyone else. He then took us to lunch at a little canteen which was amazing. They room was huge and the food for breakfast was so tasty. They recommended great places to eat. They use the money to help take care of children and educate the local kids. This is the reason i picked this place and i am so glad we stayed here. Its a little out of town but nothing a taxi cant sort for you. They called us one and told us the price we should pay and the driver was great and would give us his card and come pick us up or drop us off each time. Great place to stay and your helping the local community at the same time which just makes the place even better

Excellent stay in unique place with great people”
Great stay at this lovely homestay. Rooms are in beautiful old vietnamese villas, beautiful wood pillars, lots of tile, big windows. Very romantic, but also great for our daughter. Bathrooms were very good. For the price, exceptional value. Beautiful gardens, and located in a beautiful quiet town outside Hue. Go for a bike ride in the fields with Jean, or a paddle on the river outside your door. Best thing about the place is the people - Jean was a charming host: his family made us dinner one night. The operation supports the operation of an orphanage next door, and it was great to meet the kids and for our daughter to play with them.

amazing place”
We stayed for two nights having read great reviews and we weren't disappointed. The ethos, environment and welcome we received was just great. we had the Hue meal on the first night which was beautiful local food and Jean our host was very generous with his time explaining about the property, it's history and the work he does with local children, he was very inspirational. our children enjoyed playing basketball with some of the children who live in the orphanage. the room was lovely, air con worked brilliantly and the gardens were so relaxing and full of fruit. we were so pleased we came to Hue.

Peace and paradise with HEART!”
Best. Experience. Ever. NOT staying here is a huge mistake. Hué itself is fine, but since you're really only there to see the citadel etc., make it a beautiful retreat and catch up on your reading in the lush garden. Our stay was what dreams are made of! Jean and Phuong were incredible. Phuong gave us a little walking tour of her village, and Jean was a charming and attentive (yet hands-off enough too) host. The room (read:house) is palatial and clean as can be. We were almost embarrassed by how big our place was, but we also felt amazing that our money was supporting the orphans next door. We met and ate dinner with them, then we all played together and sang songs. They are curious and happy and love meeting new adults. It was something I will remember all my life. Also breakfast was amazing and you MUST ask Jean for the dinner- $10 has never given us such a homey yet elegant experience- enough food for an army and delicious and special. Ask Mr Bean to pick some bananas for you, as you're far away from snacks. Or bring some munchies along. Also ask Phuog where to get the yummy fish soup down the lane- so good we each had two bowls in one sitting! I've said nothing negative because there isn't anything! Stop reading and just book!

beautiful garden houses away from the crowded city”
this stay is like any other. first of all, it is a traditional inspired garden house in a village 4-5 km away from the city center (around 120 000 VND one way in taxi from city center) -very intimate - amazing food - great decoration - attentive french, english, vietnamese speaking staff - bicycles available at will - the entire stay price provide a full 1 week coverage for 30 orfans living right by the homestay. - you can interact with them and discover the village which the owners look after and expend by building new houses - this stay is recommended for couples willing to rest in peace and quiet. No internet provided

wonderful homestay outside Hue”
We had a wonderful experience here for three nights. The houses are wonderfully built and furnished and the bathrooms are spacious and modern. Above all, our host did everything to help us enjoy our stay, giving us detailed information on the Hue area and sharing the development of the local community. For us the location was great, 10 minutes up the river from Hue by motorbike. Will stay here again when I return.

Beautiful Homestay and a great cause!”
This is an amazing place to stay! The property is absolutely beautiful as are the rooms. Amenities are fantastic, free bikes to ride around the city and the breakfast is delicious! Make sure you try the OJ. On top of being a great place this is also an orphanage and all proceeds from the Homestay go directly to the children's food, shelter and education. We got to meet several of them and it's amazing what this man has done for these kids. The only sort of con to this place is its a bit out of town but a cab can get you to the city center in about 20 minutes. Would definitely recommend!!

Special place, wonderful people”
We chose this place because the homestay is run to help fund an orphanage. It felt good that our money was being put to good use and we could see this first hand... the children live close by and help out a little in their free time. We were there on New Year's Eve and the family invited us to join them for dinner, which was a wonderful feast of local dishes and delicious home made honey wine. What a treat! It is a little out of town, but it gave us a chance to see what village life is like, by walking to the local market and around the small roads where people live. Only a short ride by taxi to get into town.

best place in Vietnam”
the owner bent over backwards to make our too short stay as memorable as possible. the homestay is in a little village without other tourists. Jean took me on a ride with his scooter and my son followed by bike. It was a great experience with a guide who knows so much about the area. It was one of the highlights of our travel through Vietnam. The lunch and dinner was the best homecooked food! Travelers with back problems might find the bed too hard. It did not bother us.

Peaceful glimpse of the Hue countryside”
Spacious, well-designed rooms provided a very comfortable base. I enjoyed the free loan of a bicycle and was able to explore local pagodas as well as cycling into Hue. Very good dinners were provided if you ordered in advance. A nice change from the tourist bustle of the city

Wonderful atmosphere and mission”
Beautiful room and fantastic food. Staying helps support an orphanage. It is a little far from the center of Hue but there are good local markets and chance to bicycle around the countryside.

Good experience for kids”
Kids enjoyed the place very much at the moment we stepped into the homestay. There are endless new experiences for them, starting from frogs that are hopping around, followed by puppies, chicken, duck, banana trees, vegetables, the compound that allows them to roam freely, the river behind the homestay and later the canoeing along the river plus the new friends that made from the orphanage next door. It's a whole new experience for city kids such as them.
