1. From the time we made the booking in Tamara resort through agoda we were not able to get in touch with the resort, no contact number, agoda was also not able to provide the contact details 2. from Tekek village (ferry point at tioman island) to reach tamara resort we need taxi or car, tamara did not arrange any car facility unlike other resorts like The barat tioman arranges for all their customers both pickup and drop from tamara resorts to tekek village to take the ferry 3. In tamara resort once we reached we got a very shabby room, we booked for family room for 3 pax but we got a very small room with one extra bed on floor after our request 4. the toilet inside the room was very shaby and not all maintained 5. the care taker of tamara resort did not provide proper breakfast even though it was included in the room package 6. unlike other resorts the tamara resorts does not provide any outdoor activity in the sea 7. totally the experience of stay was very bad for us and we do not recommend any one else to stay in tamara resort REGARDS, GANAGAESVARY A/P BALAKRISHNAN

A family weekend vacation”
It was a great stay at the Tamara resort that is quite costly. Their warm hospitality started from the very beginning when they kept calling to make sure that we have arrived to Tioman island, because the resort was located on the other side of the island so they needed to pick us up from the tekit jetty. Their transportation price is expensive as it is Rm25 one-way per person to the resort and another Rm25 back to the jetty from the resort, making it an unbelievable obligated Rm50 per person to spend just to get to the resort & back because there is no other way to the resort, & because I went with my family it turned out to be very costly as they charged each one of us adults Rm50 plus Rm40 for each child. The ride however is very heart racing especially if there isn't enough seating in the front so you will have to sit at the back of the 4-wheeler, it is a 30mins drive through steep terrain just to get to the resort. The resort is located at the juara beach & that beach has a turtle sanctuary at the very end of it which is walkable distance from the tamara resort. The resort itself is pretty small in size with around 10 chalets which makes it very homey. The condition of the chalets were very good with well air conditioning system & a tv. The toilets are pretty decent to. There is a small deck like area that faces the beach which is the centre spot of the resort containing the reception desk & a few chairs & tables to eat in. The resort is pretty cosy as the chalets are closely parted. The staff were very friendly and attended to every need we had requested. We requested for fish BBQ on our second night & they did it for us. We requested to eat durians and they got it for us. & of course each request was paid for. I would definitely recommend this place to those who are looking for simplicity in life as the beach is beautiful and the place is very humbly furnished with a kampung(village) like feel to it. It is not fancy but it has just a few elements of today's m

clean. good environment. friendly
First time stay in Tamara Reasort. On the second day we join the snorkeling, before we came back to resort, the staff told us will bring us to see the waterfall cos the waterfall just on the way back to the resort. But the driver directly sent us to resort. We asked the other why do not stop at the waterfall area and she said we need to pay money to see the waterfall. But finally the resort bring us to see the small waterfall for free. One more things is our ferry ticket is back on Sat 11am, but we extended one night, so we asked the resort staff to help us to change the ferry ticket to Sunday. They promised that they already called the ferry station and we can go back on Sunday. And they said on Sunday the 11am already full, we need to take the early ferry on 7am. So on Sunday morning we leave from resort on 5:45am, very early. When we reached the ferry station, need to change the boarding pass using the ticket. The ferry staff said our ticket is on 11am, 7am is full already. And they also said the Tamara Resort never called them before to change the ticket cos if we need to change the ticket they need to cancel the previous time and write the new time. They never write anything. The resort open many years already and this is first time they change ferry ticket for customer. I cannot believe this. Very community between the resort staff. Two staff have 2 diffrent words. I also do not know who can be believed. I will not to stay in Tamara Resort anymore. I also will not recommend to friend.

Cockroaches, poor food, unpolite volunteers”
First shock was chaotic organisation of transportation to the island by Bluewater company - I never saw such mess like that before... Well, let's talk about the stay - they gave us a lift from jetty to hotel on open cargo area of pickup in between family garbage, asked for that 30 MYR and call that "hotel pickup" - second shock. At restaurant dirty spoon and fork, when I asked for a tissue paper to clean my lips after dinner the waitress brought a piece of toilet paper inside a plastic box where in normal restaurants are normal tissue papers usually kept..third shock. After below average chicken curry and one really miserable breakfast we stopped to eat there and rather walk 20 mins across the village to chinese restaurant where you can have mixed eggs or whatever more tasty. In Tamara resort was also 'working' band of white kids to have cheap holidays on the island. Unfortunately except the one guy from Lithuania I never heard from anyone nothing like morning, hello or even hi although I'm much older then them. If the parents didn't learn them how to behave the boss should tell them how to treat the guests, but this probably not happened also. The kids were playing all the time the same songs by Bob Marley and considered it as 'coooooool'. Unfortunately it's not cool at all, this is real annoying to hear "Could You Be Loved" 10 times per day. Just for keeping your reflexes in top performance you have to hunt every night cockroaches in the bathroom...thumbs down for cleanliness. I have to say there is no housekeeping service everyday, you have to ask for that... So if you don't mind sandflyies, dirty sea, miserable kitchen, listening of Hotel California and Bob Marley, hunting cockroaches, go ahead... Otherwise stay away from this place. By the way Tekek beach on the other side of island has crystal clear water and you can see a lot of fishes there...we rented a motorbike in shop inside village and we were going there every day.

Nice place for vacation”
Beautiful beach but far from jetty, suitable if you like to hv a quite surrounding for vacation
It's nice place for vacation, but far frm jetty, need extra cost to travel in and out, crossing hill and jungle from jetty. Only one trip ferry to and from mersing jetty at this season, 9 am from mersing and 6.30am to mersing, it's bit rush if only stay one night. Nice owner borrow motor for us to buy necessity, like drinking water,n food, if not, u need to walk out, a bit far from shops. Chalets style, near to beach, restaurant hv normal food, if can get ready to buy some food at town, they provide a plce for bbq, special activity if come in a with a group.
