Perfect get away hotel”
5 stars all around! Loved it!
Would definitely come again and recommend.”
Tamarind had lots of in-house activities for their guests like a village walk in the morning and daily creative activities in the courtyard. The ambience of the hotel and room (esp. at night) was so cozy and nice it was really relaxing just to roam around the hotel premises. I came on my birthday and the staff treated me with a surprise birthday gift upon checkout! It was a pleasant surprise, just like my stay :) If I come back to Chiang Mai I would definitely come to Tamarind, and definitely recommend to anyone who's going!
We booked a Deluxe Room and thank goodness we did. The room whilst clean was very compact and I mean compact! If you wanted to just sit down in your room the only place to sit was on the bed. We had an ensuite bathroom. As for cupboard space, again in short supply. We were there for 5 nights and were happy to live out of our suitcases. There is a small swimming pool with a few sun loungers. However, as soon as a sun lounger became available, there was somebody waiting to fill it so you had to be lucky with your timing. What you have to appreciate is that the hotel is in the old part of town and space is limited. The best thing about this hotel was its location. For a small hotel, the quality and choice of food available in the restaurant was superb although it did lack atmosphere. The weekly night market in Chiang Mai is literally just across the road. If you're there on a Sunday, definitely worth a visit. As with most people in Thailand, the staff are friendly and helpful.
Perfect for Songkran or anytime”
Beautiful, serene, lovely hotel with the loveliest staff. They took such good care of us, and provided fun, cultural activities for the kids during Songkran. So much fun to throw water with and on the staff during the water festival.
Still pricey but I was happy staying there”
This hotel offers great customer service from the moment you step into their front desk lobby until you leave the hotel. This hotel not only decorates themselves with traditional architecture and interior, but also offer you many activities that you can experience Chiangmai tradition. They offer city walking tour pretty much everyday, and also traditional-stuff-making session as well. Their staffs are so friendly and also baby-sit well. Even though it is expensive than normal hotels in Chiangmai, I would say I will visit this place again.
Hidden Gem in the Old Town”
Located right in the heart of the old town yet perfectly secluded from traffic, crowd, noise etc. The only "sounds" that might be slightly disturbing were dogs barking next door on the left and rooster crowing on the right. Everything was great, from exterior architecture, interior deco, exceptionally huge bathroom, staff, services, ambience, sumptuous breakfast, spa services with professional skills yet tender care, to the 200 year old Tamarind tree. Will be back...
Room was beautiful”
We booked the suite and the room was spacious and beautiful. The only downside is the TV cannot be tilted so you can't watch it when you are in bed. Breakfast was pleasant and staff was helpful. Recommend to stay over Sunday as the location of the villa is right in the heart of the huge Sunday market.
The best services & activities ”
All staff are very kind & willing to help customers. The other best part I like the most is Free activities each day - learning to do "Tung" and morning tour for 5 temples! The place is very beautiful & fantastic with the legend tree.
the most tranquil ,wonderful & peaceful resort inside the Chiangmai old city”
over 200 year-old tamarind tree is their symbol and we can receive so much positive energy here.We come here every year and this resort is our favorite and the best one we recommend. Their massage and Thai restaurant are excellent and they provide traditional activity and temple walking trip each day. Create ur wonderful experience with Tamarind village and u would smile for this decision.
Lovely escape hidden in the middle of Chiang Mai ”
The rooms are on the small side with no bath and they leave the doors open so the rooms are full of mosquitoes. That said the decor and greenery make this a lovely location to relax at the end of the day. The restaurant was so good we ate there 3 out of the 4 evenings we were there. The pool was nice as well even if the poolside is a little small and we had no sun lounger available on one day.
We had a very nice stay in Tamarind Village Hotel. The room was lovely and the staff attentive to all our needs. Breakfast next to the pool is very good. The restaurant of the hotel is also an excellent choice. The location is excellent for visiting the old city and at the same the hotel is very quiet. Highly recommended!
My husband and I spent two nights at Tamarind Village. The hotel is a little oasis in the heart of the Old Town. Within easy walking distance of many sights and restaurants. The staff are friendly and attentive. The buffet breakfast is good - lots of selections! While we saw several families with young children, I am not sure we would stay here with our boys. There is a very peaceful atmosphere, which I am sure they would shatter! We both did a spa treatment, which was good. As always the prices in the hotel are much higher than what you can get at one of the local places in town - however the atmosphere may not be match! The hotel was fantastic and we would stay again. The only thing to be aware of is that the buildings are wooden and if you stay on the bottom floor, you will hear people going up and down the stairs. We did not find this disruptive, but perhaps some would.
Excellent stay in the heart of Old Town”
From check-in, you'd feel the Thai warm welcome that makes you feel like you are home. The friendliness of all the staff, the excellent location to the Sunday Walking Street, the beautiful Lanna buildings, the free walking tour to the local temples, the artistic atmosphere they put on, the daily culture activity under the beautiful tamarind tree...every little detail makes it a perfect stay. Totally worth it!
A Great Experience!”
Location is excellent, right in the heart of the Sunday Night Market. The tranquility, architecture and interior design were excellent too. To top it up all, the staff made a real difference to the stay experience - friendly, helpful and attentive to needs. Highly recommended for all travellers
I like all about this hotel seriously.”
I like trenditional style. There are very quiet and peaceful hotel, Beautiful interior and landscape, a lot of big trees and friendly staffs who can speak english very well. The highlight in this staying was spa. I had body scrub and aroma oil massage. I think the therapist's very very good and reasonable price. I enjoyed and very relaxed with my spa treatment.
Nice Experience in Chiangmai”
The hotel is very comfortable with nice staff and excellent location. The staff is very helpful which they are attentive to residents' needs. I was surprised that the location of the hotel is very convenient which the Sunday Market is just located outside the hotel. Nevertheless, the hotel is not noisy at all. After you enter the hotel, you enter a comfortable and relaxing space again. I highly recommend this hotel.
Lovely Hotel in the Old City”
If you need a hotel that is close to everything, you have to choose Tamarind. Its appeal is not only the location but once inside the hotel the atmosphere is quiet and peaceful. Lovely staff all round. They even gave us a free upgrade to a bigger room!! Sunday night market is just outside the main entrance. Best to return to the hotel before 4pm if you drive.
Location is just perfect, rooms nice and excellent”
The hotel ground are spectacular for the surrounding environment. So peaceful, wonderful staff with many adventures at your fingertips with the desk staff. Breakfast food was just “ok”, nothing great, fresh food. The service was excellent and very attentive to everything from email service, poolside and concierge request. So many sights within walking distance and great street food and nearby restaurants. Would recommend and this hotel is on our list for a return visit.
We stayed here for four nights at the beginning of our trip and we loved every minute of our visit. The staff are lovely, very well trained and professional, but friendly at the same time. The food was amazing, we ate breakfast, some lunches and two dinners at Ruen Tamarind and every dish was delicious. We loved the emphasis on Northern Thai culture and cuisine. We enjoyed the complimentary activities such as the Village walk and lotus flower folding. The hotel is very well located, especially if you intend to visit the Sunday night market. That market is HUGE! Our walking tour guide recommended eating from stalls set up in the grounds of the Wats and that was a good tip. We stayed in a Lanna deluxe room and we're glad we paid more for the added bonus of a balcony to relax on. Our room was very nice but it was a bit hard to get around suitcases to access wardrobes etc. our room was a bit shorter than other deluxe rooms, but we had a larger balcony, so it all evened out! Our only problem was that it was really hard to dry your bathers after a swim as there was no clothes airer, line or sunshine. We would definitely stay at Tamarind Village again in the future. Thank you to all the staff for making our stay so pleasant.
Comfortable hotel with superb location”
Overall I had a nice stay at Tamarind Village. Staff have been helpful and attentive. Little details such as putting a gift of token on the bed for the New Year and room card to explain the room name are appreciated.
